Bang!
Samuel knocked down seven or eight people, causing chaos at the scene. Darnell didn’t stop and kicked out again, sending three more people to the ground.
Samuel fell flat on his back, his hip hurting terribly, but what hurt the most was his pride. He had been ambushed by Darnell twice in a row, losing all face.
He screamed hysterically, “Kill them! Kill them all!”
Dozens of members of the Axe roared and rushed at Darnell, their axes gleaming menacingly.
Darnell suddenly shouted, “Stop!”
The Axe members froze for a moment, their actions instinctively halted.
In that brief pause, Darnell charged into the crowd like lightning, slashing left and right with his hand blade. The four people in front of him screamed in unison.
Their bodies spun and fell, the smell of blood quickly filling the air. Darnell accurately struck their jaws, knocking out dozens of teeth.
“Let’s fight!”
Darnell smiled as he declared war, stepping back gracefully over the scattered teeth without any hindrance.
“Bastard!”
The Axe members were completely enraged by Darnell and attacked him even more fiercely.
Samuel also shouted angrily, “Chop them up! Chop them all up!”
“Kill!”
Although Callum was reluctant to engage in a fight with the Axe, their aggressive taunts and blatant disregard for him and the Apex ignited a spark of anger within him, especially after having a few drinks.
Darnell’s earlier kick had already pushed the situation past the point of no return. With resolve, Callum pulled out his red axe and charged forward, shouting defiantly.
Hugo and the twenty members of the Apex hesitated for a moment, but soon followed Callum’s lead, drawing their weapons and readying themselves to clash with the Axe. The tension in the air thickened as the two groups prepared for an all-out confrontation, each side fueled by a mix of adrenaline and fury.
Though the Apex members were fewer in number and less skilled than the Axe, Darnell’s preemptive strike and Callum’s invincible aura ignited their fighting spirit, leading to a fierce clash.
In just one encounter, both sides had five or six people injured and bleeding.
Since the Apex, the Crow, and the Axe had divided Whiteville’s underworld interests peacefully, such large-scale gang fights had become rare.
The security guards who arrived at the scene were so frightened by the chaos that they immediately fled to report to their boss.
Callum wielded his red axe with great momentum. Three members from the Axe opposing him couldn’t dodge in time and fell under his axe instantly.
He then dodged two axes coming from behind with a swift move and used his head to knock two more people away, making them spit blood.
The next second, Callum kicked a hundred-pound statue in the hall.
Bang!
The statue hit the charging Axe members like a cannonball.
Boom!
Four or five people were knocked down on the spot. Those crushed by the statue screamed in agony.
At the same time, Callum lifted his foot and kicked the big-nosed man away effortlessly.
“Ahh!”
People fell over like dominoes!
Seeing how formidable Callum and his team were, Samuel retreated to a corner and had four men protect him closely while he angrily picked up his phone.
He shouted loudly, “Bring more people here! As many as possible! Hurry!”
Callum’s expression changed slightly as he shouted to Darnell, “Mr. Halford, take your people and leave now. Reinforcements are coming soon.”
“Callum, can you handle this?”
Darnell told Gisselle to protect Jolie and others while he grabbed an axe and smashed several opponents’ heads before rushing to Callum’s side. “Can you hold them off?”
Callum shouted back, “Go quickly! I can hold them off.”
This club was close to the Axe’s headquarters. They could arrive in five minutes at most, while the Apex’s reinforcements would take at least ten minutes. Callum worried that Samuel’s reinforcements would block the door first, so he urged Darnell to leave with his friends.
“Take your friends and go now. Otherwise, there won’t be another chance.”
“These guys are tough.”
Darnell glanced at the defiant Axe members and then at the injured Apex members. “If we leave, we leave together. If we die, we die together.”
Except for Callum who was relatively unscathed, Hugo and other Apex members were all injured badly. They were covered in blood and wounds. It was clear they were at their limit.
Hugo even had part of his ear missing. He was grimacing in pain. Darnell couldn’t bear to abandon them.
Moreover, this whole mess started because of him.
He turned to Gisselle and shouted, “Gisselle! Take a few people and get those two girls safely to the police station. Hurry!”
Gisselle hesitated for a moment but didn’t want to leave everyone behind. Callum turned around and shouted too, “Go now.”
Gisselle made a quick decision. “Let’s go!”
She took three Apex members with her to protect Jolie and another girl as they headed out. Samuel shouted angrily, “Stop them!”
Several members from the Axe lunged at them.
Darnell didn’t give them a chance. He kicked an axe into the air with his toe and threw two more axes from his hands.
Three men screamed as they clutched their heads and fell to the ground bleeding profusely. They were no longer able to fight.
Before Gisselle could get out safely with her group, the door was kicked open again.
“Mr. Stewart!”
“Mr. Stewart!”
More than thirty members from the Axe rushed in. Each one was burly and strong, far superior to the Apex members.
Gisselle, Jolie, and other women quickly retreated inside with panicked expressions.
Damn! The Axe’s reinforcements arrived so fast. Darnell felt a chill down his spine. He knew if this continued, only he and Callum might survive.
With reinforcements arriving, Samuel felt emboldened. He pointed at Darnell and Callum, shouting, “Take them down!”
As he yelled, he positioned himself at the back, ensuring that Darnell wouldn’t have the chance to capture him.
“Callum, hold them off!” Darnell shouted, his eyes darting around. “I’m leaving first.”
Without another word, Darnell turned and sprinted-not toward the main entrance but toward the emergency exit by the elevator.
Callum stood frozen, unable to process what was happening.
Samuel’s mouth dropped open in disbelief. Darnell was really abandoning them, not only ignoring Callum but leaving Jolie behind as well.
Jolie, however, felt a surge of relief. At least Darnell wouldn’t die alongside her.
“After him!” Samuel barked, his mind focused solely on not letting Darnell escape.
A dozen members of the Axe moved to chase Darnell. Seeing this, Callum shouted, raising his red axe, “Anyone who goes after him will die!”
Callum and his crew blocked the corridor through which Darnell had fled, pulling Jolie and the others behind him for safety.
Samuel, furious, shouted, “Take them down!”
Both sides collided again, chaos erupting around them.
“Stop!”
Just as three or four more fell and Callum felt the sting of two new wounds, the elevator suddenly dinged open. Darnell reappeared, a knife in hand, and with him was Peter.
He looked at both sides with a smug grin. “Samuel, let us go.”
“Or else I’ll take Peter out.”
Darnell had to leverage what he had.
Samuel blinked in surprise, then fumed, “Darnell, you bastard.”
After years in the underworld, he had never encountered someone so shameless.
Darnell motioned for Callum and the others to gather closer. “Enough talk. Clear the way.”
“You have two choices, Samuel. One, let us go and get your honored guest medical help to make up for your blunder.
Darnell grinned, adding, “Two, kill us, and Peter goes down with us.”
“But if you do that, the Blades will surely come for you.”
Samuel laughed in rage, “Darnell, I truly admire you. There’s no low you wouldn’t stoop to.”
“Thanks for the compliment,” Darnell replied coolly. “But now that we’ve exchanged pleasantries, shouldn’t we get down to business?”
“Fine, you can pass,” Samuel spat, his eyes burning with hatred. “But know this, I will have my revenge.”
“I won’t kill you first. I’ll find those two girls you saved, toy with them, torment them until they break, and then I’ll come for you,” he threatened.
The big-nosed man chimed in, “Mr. Stewart, those two girls are from One Cent Foundation, named Raelynn and Jolie.”
“Hear that?” Samuel cackled. “You can run, but I’ll come after you.”
Darnell’s eyes flashed with menace. Samuel was already on his death list. But he quickly regained his composure.
“Clear the way.”
