The car sped towards Woodsea.
After persuading Darnell to befriend Elon, Judith handed him a top-secret file.
The file contained confidential information from the police about Elon Billingsley, showcasing Judith’s determination. Once she trusted Darnell, she no longer held back.
Darnell didn’t hesitate either. He pulled out the file and read it. “Elon Billingsley, forty-eight years old, nicknamed ‘Mr. Billionaire’, born in Whiteville.”
“Twenty years ago, he was the assistant manager of the marketing department at Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, sent to develop the market in Mangeria. He eventually started his own business and became a renowned businessman in Mangeria.”
Darnell was surprised that Elon had ties to Spectrum Pharmaceuticals. It was hard to imagine that guy used to be in business.
“He founded the Billingsley Group, which has branches in Mangeria and Westergold, operating in sectors such as food, banking, insurance, and shipping.”
“His personal assets are estimated to be over three billion dollars.”
“He often builds bridges and roads, earning the love of Mangerian people and even receiving the King of Mangeria’s praises.”
Hearing this, Judith casually added, “But these are just his public identities.”
“His real business is drug trafficking. He is the top agent for both the Golden Triangle and the Silver Triangle, distributing thirty percent of the world’s drugs.”
“Due to his tight organization and secretive channels, along with a large number of loyal followers, Interpol has failed eighteen times to capture him.”
Judith’s face turned cold. “No, to be precise, we suffered disastrous defeats.”
“In those eighteen operations, although Interpol arrested many people and seized hundreds of pounds of heroin, these were just minor setbacks for him.”
“They didn’t harm his empire at all. The entire structure remained intact, and all channels continued to operate normally.”
“The most frustrating thing is that we can’t find any link between him and the drug trafficking activities. The police have never been able to prove his guilt.”
Judith sighed. “He keeps himself too clean. Plus, his retribution is brutal. Over the years, he has killed at least thirty police officers involved in operations against him and eliminated all undercover agents sent in.”
“My good friend from Interpol was also killed last month. Her limbs were broken before she was drowned.”
Her eyes dimmed. “I had a good relationship with her and wanted to avenge her, but I am powerless.”
Darnell reached out to hold her hand for comfort and warmth before asking, “Isn’t he now in your custody?”
“You could easily disable him or let some violent inmate in prison deal with him.”
Judith shook her head lightly. “Although he told you he was Elon Billingsley, his entry documents show another identity that is legal.”
“We managed to arrest him thanks to finding five hundred grams of drugs in Steve’s hospital room. That case implicated Elon Billingsley. We owe you for that.”
Darnell’s eyes lit up. He wanted to ask if there was a reward but quickly controlled his excitement.
This was Judith’s trap.
If he asked for a reward, it would prove he framed Steve.
So he shrugged. “Why thank me? I did nothing.”
“According to normal procedures and given his sensitive identity, he’ll only serve two years at most.”
Judith glanced at Darnell without any visible reaction and continued with a smile, “But we don’t want that outcome.”
Darnell chuckled. “You could use someone else to kill him quietly.”
“We hate him enough to want him dead a thousand times over, but killing him alone is meaningless. He has already arranged three successors.”
The traffic light ahead turned green but cars moved slowly. Judith gently pressed the brake to avoid hitting the car in front.
“Rather than just killing him out of spite, we want to destroy his empire and remove this malignant tumor from the world. However, he’s extremely cautious and meticulous.”
“We’ve sent undercover agents close to him but never gained his trust.”
“We were about to abandon our undercover plan when we saw your interaction with him. He seems to appreciate you, so we’re taking a chance on you.”
Judith gently turned the steering wheel. “We want to see if you can create an opening for us and perform a miracle.”
Darnell silently read through the file again before tossing it back into the glove compartment. He rubbed his head and asked, “Captain Meech, can I back out?”
“This is too dangerous. I could die at any moment.”
He considered getting off at the next stop. “I thought Elon Billingsley was just some corrupt businessman or bully. It turns out he’s a major drug dealer.”
“He has men and guns while I’m just a salesman. How can I compete?”
“If Elon Billingsley wants me dead, he could easily send an armed squad to blow up my apartment anytime.”
He was frustrated. “Although I love your black cat-patterned underwear, it’s not worth risking my life. I want to live longer.”
“Captain Meech, can we cancel our deal?”
Judith’s face hardened. “No! Too late.”
“Besides, we’re not asking much right now, just for you to befriend him. Making friends won’t kill you.”
“When the time comes, we’ll arrange encounters or even have you save him heroically.”
She smirked, “If you refuse, we’ll lock you up because you know too much.”
“We’ll release you once we destroy his empire. When that will be is uncertain.”
Darnell looked troubled. “You’re being unreasonable!”
“Read the files carefully and wait for my instructions,” she added cheerfully. “By then, maybe your temporary boyfriend status will become permanent.”
Judith then gave Darnell a sweet smile. “Oh right, one more thing.”
“The two had established Skyline Bank in Myanmar to facilitate their money laundering operations, but in the end, Zane got caught.”
“Skyline Bank was also frozen by Interpol, which resulted in significant losses for Elon. That’s why he came to Westergold to discuss loose ends with the Swain family.”
“If you get along well with Elon Billingsley, maybe the Swains won’t hold grudges against you anymore.”
Darnell wasn’t pleased after he heard this. “I need time to think it over. I haven’t even married or had kids yet. It’s just not worth it if I end up dead.”
“Wanting offspring?” Judith teased with a wink, “As long as you agree to get close to Elon, you don’t need to worry about descendants. I might as well sacrifice myself and give you a child to carry on your family line if needed!”
Darnell instantly perked up. “Captain Meech, why wait for a better day? How about we find a place right now and get it on?”
Judith’s face turned cold. “You think you can get what you want before the work is done?”
Darnell stubbornly shot back, “There has to be some perks involved. Otherwise, how do I know you won’t go back on your word? The police have done that before.”
Judith was furious, wanting nothing more than to kick this jerk out of the car. But knowing how crucial the moment was, she gritted her teeth and managed to say, “Fine, you can touch me, but just once.”
She shook her long legs, preparing to endure Darnell’s advances for the sake of their mission.
Without hesitation, Darnell placed his hand on Judith’s left breast.
Judith shouted in embarrassment and anger, “Not there!”
Darnell quickly moved to the right side…
