Dozens of security guards quickly disappeared, leaving only the villagers of Woodsea. Their morale instantly plummeted.
As Gisselle and the others laughed triumphantly, Luca lifted his head and spoke to Noemi in a calm tone, “Ms. Sotheby, aren’t you wealthy? Why not throw out a couple million and see if any brave souls will fight for you? I suggest you agree. If you don’t, it won’t matter to me, but my men will be furious.”
“Though I’m the boss, I can’t control their anger,” he added.
Nick shouted, “Old woman, you better agree quickly. Otherwise, I’ll raid your home and wipe out Woodsea.”
“Then I’ll turn you into a human pig and send you to the wild tribes for a freak show.”
Noemi splashed tea from her right hand onto Nick’s face and shouted, “Don’t underestimate me, you little brat! I still have my people!”
“You want to die, you shrew?” Nick couldn’t hold back his anger, wiping his face as he yelled, “Guys, take them down!”
This time, Luca didn’t intervene. Gisselle and nearly half of the Apex surged forward, swinging their clubs at Noemi.
Leroy and the others’ expressions changed, worried about Noemi getting hurt, and they quickly grabbed their weapons, preparing to fight back.
Nearly a thousand people were gearing up for battle.
Noemi grabbed a stick and swung it powerfully. Several members of the Apex charged at her, only to be knocked down immediately.
Though Leroy and the villagers were determined, they were no match for the seasoned Apex fighters.
The Apex had begun the fight wearing masks, and now they threw out several bags of flour, blinding the Woodsea villagers and drastically reducing their fighting ability.
Since most of the Apex members present were elite fighters, the battle started with Leroy and his group being pushed back steadily.
Leroy took several hits to his back.
Protected by several villagers, Noemi wiped the flour from her face and glared angrily at the advancing Apex members, “You cowards, how shameless of you to use such underhanded tactics!”
Nick and over ten others sat back, enjoying the spectacle with smirks on their faces.
Luca, sipping his tea leisurely, acted as if the battle had nothing to do with him, occasionally shouting, “Hey, stop fighting! Why be so aggressive? Let’s sit down and talk this out.”
“Gisselle, tell your people not to hit them in the head. We don’t want any fatalities. We must win them over with kindness.”
As the Apex prepared to subdue Noemi and her group and take over Woodsea, Luca wanted to avoid any casualties that might involve the police.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
In under fifteen minutes, over four hundred people lay on the ground, three hundred of them villagers from Woodsea and one hundred from the Apex.
Noemi, Leroy, and around thirty others had higher statuses, so the Apex held back their attacks. They gradually broke through their defenses, using their trained tactics to undermine the villagers’ fighting spirit.
Bang!
A club struck Leroy’s back. Instinctively, he swung his own stick, but as he did, another attacker hit his calf, causing him to stumble.
Two clubs struck his weak points, and the Apex members quickly overpowered him, pinning his arms and legs down.
The situation quickly turned one-sided, with Noemi and the others retreating toward the entrance, looking utterly defeated.
Bang!
As Noemi guarded her waist, she saw the villagers being taken down one by one. Her anger surged, and she swung her stick, knocking down three opponents with a single blow, eventually breaking her weapon in the process.
Seeing an opportunity, Gisselle charged in with a group, raising her stick to strike Noemi’s waist.
Suddenly, Noemi raised her hand and caught the wooden stick.
In Gisselle’s shocked gaze, Noemi effortlessly snatched the stick from her with just two fingers.
With a fierce voice, Noemi declared, “You bitch, do you really think I’m easy to mess with?”
After saying that, she forcefully wrenched the stick away.
Gisselle was left dumbfounded, clearly not expecting Noemi to be this strong.
Then, Noemi kicked out, and Gisselle, unable to dodge, was sent flying back to Nick and the others with a loud thud.
“Come on, all of you!”
Over a dozen Apex members surrounded her, expressions of surprise and fear on their faces. Noemi brandished the stick and shouted, “Bring it on!”
At that moment, after her final words, Noemi’s entire demeanor shifted dramatically.
The Apex members felt a chill run down their spines. The old woman who had seemed to be losing just moments ago suddenly revealed her fierce side, her presence becoming intimidating.
Noemi stepped forward with incredible speed.
The closest Apex member reflexively swung his stick, shouting, “I’ll kill you!”
Only to be met with Noemi’s swift slap that sent him flying.
With a loud crash, he was knocked aside. Another Apex member followed but ended up crashing into the wall, spitting blood and collapsing unconscious.
In the chaos, six members were taken down, lying sprawled on the ground, struggling to get back up. Shock filled their eyes.
“Damn it! Go! Go! Beat her to death with clubs!”
Nick shouted angrily, “I want that old woman crippled!”
His hatred for Noemi ran deep.
One of the members, fueled by an unknown courage, yelled as he swung his club at Noemi.
Noemi turned her body, and with a bang, she lifted the charging member effortlessly.
She stepped on the wooden stick, snapping it into pieces under her foot.
Nick’s jaw dropped, and his eyes were wide with shock.
Luca casually fanned himself, a sardonic smile on his face. “This is interesting.”
“What the hell…”
The captured member panicked, unable to comprehend what was happening, and Noemi flung him onto a nearby chair.
The chair shattered, splinters embedding into the member’s body, leaving him bloodied and in agony.
Noemi didn’t pause. She struck another bald member with her stick.
He tried to block with his own stick but was met with a powerful blow that shattered his weapon.
The bald member, eyes wide in disbelief, was sent flying, blood pouring from his mouth as he collapsed, twitching on the ground.
A muscular thug with tattoo-covered arms sneered as he lunged at Noemi from behind.
He threw a powerful punch at the back of her head, laughing triumphantly.
But soon, that grin froze on his face.
Noemi remained unharmed, and with a swift kick, she sent another thug flying several meters away, her murderous intent palpable.
The tattooed thug felt like he had punched a solid iron block.
Before he could think, he saw Noemi slowly turning to face him, locking eyes with a fierce gaze.
A chill shot down his spine.
Smack!
Noemi delivered a backhand slap, scolding, “Trying to sneak attack, huh?”
A deep red handprint instantly appeared on the thug’s face as he was flung backward by the force of the blow.
With a loud crash, he slammed into a flowerpot, collapsing it, his back in agony, unable to continue fighting.
From Noemi’s explosive entrance to the present moment, only one minute had passed.
In that minute, she had taken down twelve members of the Apex.
