29. A few days later Kim and Ely were seated in a vehicle going to visit her parents.
After that day when she didn’t show up after calling them at night, she had called and promised to visit but Ely had been postponing it.
He was nervous. Every day, he would be like:
How should I dress?
What will I tell them?
Are they nice?
Will your dad punch me for taking his girl?
What gift should I buy for them?
What foods does your mom like?
He would pester her endlessly and every day would end like that.
But this day, Kim had had enough. She had literally dragged him outside and into the car and asked the driver to take them to her home.
“Why didn’t you let me get ready? I am not ready yet,” Ely complained as Kim helped him buckle up.
“Tell me Ely, how long have you been getting ready? If you continue like this, do you think that we will ever go home?
And to think that you are a feared Mafia Boss,” Kim said but the last part was said in a small voice that made Ely snort.
“I am a Mafia Lord because that comes without saying. It’s my job. But these are your parents. Your parents for heaven’s sake!
They are even more scary than those I deal with at work,” Ely said and he, too, said the last part in a small voice and it was Kim’s turn to laugh.
“Don’t worry. Daddy will love you. Just be yourself. Mama on the other hand will be happy that I have finally gotten someone. They were both worried that at this age, I have never introduced anyone to them,” she said and hearing that, he relaxed a bit.
Finally, after two hours on the way, they arrived. They spent so much time because Ely insisted on buying presents for his in-laws so as to impress them.
As Kim had said, they were welcomed well and at the end of the day, the old man didn’t want them to leave.
“You haven’t played checkers with me. You beat me in chess but I promise to beat you here. Come on!” He said as he pulled Ely into the study again.
“Ah, your dad has found the son he has always wanted. So, tell me, how does he treat you? Is he better than that Gulf?” Her mom asked her as they watched a series that her mom has been following.
“Mom, I haven’t even told you. Do you know that Gulf works for Ely? And yes, Ely treats me better because at least, I know that he loves me,” she said honestly.
At that moment, there was a knock at the door and when Kim went to open it, it was her childhood friend with whom she had grown up together.
“Jay! Oh my God!”
“K? I didn’t know that you are here,” Jay said as they hugged.
They had grown together and did everything together but separated when they went to the university.
Jay was born a girl but she had undertaken gender changing operations and now, he was a boy and even his voice had changed.
But regardless of all that, they were still tight and still did anything they could together whenever they got time.
Jay joined the two women at the living room where they were snuggled on cushions eating popcorn and watching a series and she sat by the side of Kim.
Kim laid down and put her head on Jay’s lap and Jay started playing with her hair as they watched and discussed the characters.
When Ely and his father in law were done with five games of checkers where the old man won four (Ely let him win but don’t let him know) this was the scene that they saw.
Ely felt his heart tighten.
‘I was only gone for a while to entertain your dad and you found a man to touch you and you even laid your head on his lap?’ Ely thought as his gaze got darker and darker.
“Ahem!” Ely cleared his throat and the three looked that way.
“Oh, you two are done already?” It was mama Chen who asked.
“Yes we are and I won,” Mr Chen said with a grin that he couldn’t hide.
It was clear that he had really enjoyed himself.
Ely looked at Kim with an expectant look and Kim understood.
“Oh, Jay, this is Elyes, my boyfriend. Ely, this is Jay, a neighbour and a friend. We grew up together,” Kim introduced.
“Wow! Baby girl, you never told me that you landed yourself a hottie. He’s so handsome!” Jay giggled in Kim’s ears but wore a serious expression when he turned to shake Ely’s hand.
“Nice to meet you. Take good care of my friend or I will take her from you,” Jay joked and everyone laughed but Ely didn’t like the joke.
In fact, he took that as a threat. He smiled tensely and tightened his hand around Jay’s but Jay held that gaze and held his ground.
“Of course. I will never let her suffer any grievances. So, don’t wait,” Ely said and released Jay’s hand.
If anyone had the ability to open Ely’s heart and see, they would have seen that he was drowning in vinegar.
He was so jealous that he was suffocating.
“Okay. Good night then mama. See you tomorrow. Baby girl, take care. Don’t leave without seeing me. Papa, good bye,” Jay bid them goodbye but snorted when he looked at Ely.
He was bitter that Ely had hurt his palm though he didn’t show it.
Kim took Jay to the door and as they hugged, Jay said, “I can see that he loves you. He’s a keeper. But as your only brother, you know I have to keep a tough exterior, right?”
“I know. Don’t worry,” Kim said and even before they could hug well, Kim was pulled from Jay’s embrace.
“Have a good night,” Ely said and waved at Jay with a stiff smile.
“Bye,” Jay said and left.
“Let’s go to my room,” Kim said and by then, their parents had retired.
They went upstairs where her room was and for the first time, she was happy that she was the only person who lived on that floor. Her parents had moved to a bedroom downstairs when their dad’s arthritis became bad.
“Why are you sulking? What happened?” Kim asked the vinegar jar that was boiling as it sat on the bed.
She went and opened the door to the small terrace and Ely stood from the bed and followed her.
“Why would you hug another man? You even had your head on his lap,” Ely complained in an aggrieved tone.
Kim couldn’t help but laugh.
“He’s just a friend. In fact, he’s more of a brother than a friend. He’s the one who takes care of my parents when I am not here,” Kim said but Ely didn’t care.
Even after Kim explained to him about Jay’s gender change, Ely was still jealous.
He didn’t want anyone who might take Kim away from him and so, he wanted to make sure that she was still his.
He held her in a hug and then turned her.
In a second, his dick was out and he stabbed it at her back and she flinched.
“We can’t do it here. This is my parents house and we are outside,” Kim tried but Ely didn’t care.
He knew that no one would see them and even if someone did, he didn’t care. He wanted everyone to know that this woman was his.
“Let them see,” he said as he lowered Kim’s pants and knickers all in one move.
He lifted her legs one by one and shed them.
Then, he made her hold onto the railing of the terrace and kissed her ear.
