“We should call the cops immediately,” Olivia suggested. She brought out her phone, but I was quick to stop her immediately.
Without being told, I knew she wanted to call the cops.
“What do you think you’re trying to do?” I asked her and held on to her phone.
I adjusted a bit to stop her from snatching it from me. I already saw the drastic move she was making.
“What does it look like I am doing? Of course, I am calling. Rene needs to be stopped before she harms us,” Olivia freaked out like a toddler.
I haven’t seen her panicking like that before.
I giggled because her actions were beginning to amuse me.
“What makes you think that Rene would want to hurt you? She has nothing on you. I propose you forget her and let me take you home,” I insisted.
As much as Rene is desperate to have Cyril to herself, I still didn’t think she would want to get rid of Olivia to achieve that.
“Can you just listen to yourself right now? Isn’t it obvious that Rene wants my man? The only person standing in her way is me. And she would do everything possible to ensure I am eliminated,” Olivia explained.
It was indeed a valid reason to want to suspect Rene for such an act. Still, I wasn’t fully convinced. A part of me still feels that Rene had nothing to do with what happened.
“And you think she’s not going to be arrested if anything bad happens to you? Think about it, Olivia,” I took my time to explain to her. I also highlighted a thousand reasons why Rene shouldn’t be a prime suspect.
For some minutes, Olivia was mute. I knew she was thinking about what I just told her.
The thought of this gave me hope that she was never going to cause trouble with Rene. Or perhaps, order for Rene’s arrest.
“Ma’am,” Kate attempted to speak when Olivia shut her up with an unfriendly gaze. Olivia didn’t utter a word, yet Kate was able to decode the message being passed.
“I need to think this through thoroughly. It’s funny how you all underrate that bitch called Rene. She’s some desperate bastard. We really need to do something about her,” Olivia buttressed.
I facepalmed to say the least, disappointment that I wasn’t able to convince Olivia to do my bidding.
“So what do you suggest we do now?” I asked Olivia.
I was ready to accept her idea if it was going to be beneficial to everyone.
I was getting tired of the conversation.
I was ready to do anything just to end it, even if it involves accepting Olivia’s demands.
The argument was starting to mess with my head. It was our first time shopping together, and it ended in chaos.
It wasn’t my intention for things to turn out that way.
The plan was to create a long-lasting memory for Olivia and restore happiness to her face again after the recent uproar with Cyril.
Sadly for me, it turned out to become the worst day of her life. First, it was the hot romance we had in the car, and now it’s Rene. It’s never getting better.
“Just to be on the safer side, I suggest we go to the cops,” Olivia stated. She wasn’t done talking when I interrupted her immediately with a frown on my face.
I rested my head on my car and moaned.
I already knew where the conversation was heading to without her completing it.
“Can you please let me finish before you castigate me? I am not done yet,” she pleaded for a chance to be heard.
To avoid starting a war, I made an upraised arm and permitted her to speak further.
My ears might appear to be widened, but in reality, they were shut.
I wasn’t ready to listen to what Olivia wanted to say because I knew they were never going to make sense to me.
“I am not getting her arrested. I know that’s what you are thinking right now,” Olivia said, taking away the thought from my mind.
A bit, I was relaxed that no one was getting arrested.
“If you’re not getting her arrested, what’s the plan?” I asked her.
This time, I paid more attention than the first time because she already showed some positivity.
“We are just going to lodge some complaint that someone is after our life,” she concluded.
I sighed, and carefully selected my question to avoid making things worse.
“And what if they ask if you suspect anyone? What would be your response?” I popped the question.
“When we get to the bridge, we cross it. For now, let’s head to the station,” Olivia answered.
Before I thought of my next move, she was already seated at the front seat of the car, waiting for me to come drive.
“You do know it’s a crime to keep a pretty lady like me waiting for too long, right?” she called my attention.
I became weak and knew there was nothing I could do anymore.
I looked behind me and discovered that Kate had left too. She was already seated in the back seat of the car.
“I guess you’re the last man standing,” Olivia smiled. Coming from someone who nearly engaged me in a heated argument not quite long ago.
Like a perfect gentleman, I controlled my rage and rushed to join them in the car.
As I drove to the station, I sighted a strange vehicle trailing us from a distance.
I adjusted the side mirror to my direction to enable me to have a clear sight of the vehicle.
I slowed down a bit.
The vehicle did the same.
I increased the speed a bit and the vehicle did the same thing.
I freaked out!
I was the only one who understood what was happening. It now dawned on me that Olivia might be right after all. I was scared to tell Olivia about it.
Why would I want to do something like that? She would definitely blame me for not believing her. I kept my observation to myself and trust that I was going to sort it out in no time.
