Kira was standing by the bed, slipping into her silky nightdress when Bryan and Aiden rushed into the room, water dripping everywhere as they hurriedly moved towards her. They froze in their tracks momentarily, their gazes on her and how her nightdress clung to her curves.
Noticing them, Kira raised a brow as she glanced at them. “You both better not be dripping water all over the floor,” she said, crossing her arms.
Caught off guard, Bryan and Aiden looked at each other sheepishly before turning and going back to the bathroom without a word. They muttered something under their breaths as they grabbed towels to dry off.
Kira shook her head, laughing softly as she got on the bed. “Am I raising grown children now?” She asked herself, finding Bryan and Aiden’s behaviors funny.
Moments later, Bryan and Aiden returned. They had dried up and were now dressed in only loose night shorts. They found Kira already lying in bed on her back and her head on the soft pillow with her eyes closed as if she was trying to sleep.
They knew very well she was not asleep yet, as she was settled comfortably in the middle, with the blanket pulled up to her chest. They both slid under the blanket on either side of her, each lying on their backs but positioning themselves close to her.
Feeling the bed dip on either side, Kira opened her eyes softly and turned her head slightly. The first thing her gaze landed on was the unexpected bulge beneath the blanket from both Bryan’s side and Aiden’s side.
“What is that poking out?” She asked Bryan teasingly while laughing. She could not help the laugh that escaped her lips. Even when she turned her attention to Aiden, her laughter grew at the similar situation. “What are those?” She asked while still laughing.
Bryan groaned, running a hand down his face. “This is all your fault,” he muttered, trying not to laugh.
Aiden, on the other hand, chuckled, shaking his head as he turned to look at her. “It should have gone down by now,” he admitted, his tone soft, “but you are so close, and, well… you are not exactly helping.”
“Sorry, my loves,” Kira said sweetly, although there was a smirk on her face as she reached out to them, lightly brushing her hands against their arms. “But I just want to cuddle tonight and sleep.”
“No need to apologize, baby,” Aiden said, his voice affectionate and warm. “We understand. I understand, I don’t know about that s*x freak.”
“Aiden I swear…” Bryan started but stopped himself and took a deep breath, then he decided to ignore Aiden and focus on Kira, knowing fully well that Aiden was just trying to trouble him. “Yeah, love, ignore it. It will go down eventually.”
Kira smiled at their understanding and also at how Aiden wanted to stir up a banter with Bryan before Aiden wrapped an arm around her waist. He pulled her slightly closer to his side, while Bryan shifted to press a gentle kiss to her temple before resting his head near hers.
After a few moments of comfortable and sweet silence, Aiden broke it, his voice more serious now. “So… what happened in the field earlier?” he asked Kira.
“Hm?” Kira asked, opening her eyes which she had closed and tilting her head slightly to look at him, seeking confirmation on what he meant.
“I don’t know about Bryan,” Aiden continued, “but I noticed how angry you got after Tahila said something to you. I saw it, so tell us. Whatever it was, she is already going to be punished for that mockery.”
“Oh,” Kira mumbled, now understanding what he was asking about.
She already had a feeling that the talk about the battlefield would come up and since she had already handled it, she didn’t want to bring it up, especially because of their reactions.
Like now Aiden’s whole demeanor just changed to being serious and even Bryan’s changed too, both men now watching her intently, waiting for her to share what had happened.
Kira just gave in and told them everything from start to finish.
“But it’s okay, I already handled it,” she said after she was done with the whole explanation of what Tahila had said to her.
“It is not okay!” Bryan said, his tone showing his anger as he propped himself up on one elbow to look at Kira. “She has no right to say that to you. Tahila will be punished for her words. That was more than crossing the line, and she will be punished.”
“Let it be, Bryan,” Kira said softly. “I have already handled it.”
Aiden hummed lowly, his jaw tightening as if he were struggling to agree. Kira heard it and continued speaking, wanting them to calm down. “I can handle myself too,” she said. “I don’t always have to come to you both for every little thing.”
“We know you can, but still…” Aiden said, “She has to be punished. She knows very well what happens when she crosses a line. I am certain she knew that when she said those filthy things. I should probably cut out her tongue and keep her alive.”
“Aiden, do not do that,” Kira said, laughing softly.
“It is not funny, Kira,” Bryan frowned.
“I know, I know,” she continued. “But please just calm down. I have already warned her as her Luna and if she crosses me again, then I will make good on my threat.”
“So please,” Kira smiled faintly, her tone softening as she added, “Let’s not spoil this sweet mood, alright, my babies?”
Aiden exhaled a heavy breath, clearly still reluctant, but he nodded and kissed the back of her head. “Fine,” he murmured against her hair as he snuggled into her tighter.
While Bryan gave a small huff of resignation, but smiled softly as he leaned closer and kissed her gently on her nose. “You are lucky we adore you,” he muttered playfully.
“Oh, that’s true,” Bryan suddenly remembered, his tone lighter now. “We also wanted to tell you something earlier. It slipped my mind completely.”
“Kira?” Bryan called her name softly when she didn’t respond.
“Mm?” Kira murmured drowsily, her lashes fluttering as she tried to keep her eyes open. “No, I’m awake,” she added groggily, her words slurring. “Tell me, I’m listening.”
Bryan could not help but smile at the sight of her half-open eyes and the way she yawned softly while trying to stay awake.
“Sleep, love,” Aiden said gently, also smiling at how sleepy she sounded. “We can talk about it tomorrow. It’s not even that important. Get some rest.”
Kira gave a small nod, her body relaxing completely in their arms as she drifted off almost immediately.
“She is something else,” Bryan said, his tone filled with fondness as he looked over at Aiden and shook his head while chuckling quietly.
“Yeah,” Aiden agreed, stroking her hair idly. “But she’s ours.”
