Lion didn’t care about Rosalind’s past. As long as her future was with him, that was enough. He didn’t mind what Sirena said about Rosalind’s mother being a mistress; it didn’t matter if it was true or not. Lion wouldn’t even investigate it. He had known Rosalind for some time, from when she first joined Eastsun Corporation and started making a name for herself. Her perseverance and determination were what Lion valued.
“Do you really not mind that she has children with another man?”
“Of course I mind, but it doesn’t matter. That was in the past, and she hadn’t met me yet. As long as she’s mine in the future, that’s all that counts.”
The more Lion spoke like this, the angrier Sirena became. She believed Rosalind wasn’t worthy of Lion and thought that woman should have died with her mother long ago. Otherwise, why would her own mother be criticized for so many years?
But then she thought…
If Lion could help her break them up now, it wouldn’t be a bad thing. After all, Ulric’s mother had already told her they planned to make Rosalind disappear completely. Whether Lion could protect Rosalind would be his problem. If Rosalind died, it wouldn’t be her fault for breaking any promises.
“It’s clear you truly love Rosalind, just like I love Ulric! So shall we discuss the details of our cooperation?”
Her sudden change in attitude made Lion frown.
“You must promise you won’t harm Rosalind.”
“Don’t worry. If I wanted to hurt her, she wouldn’t have lived so comfortably all these years. If she hadn’t reappeared in Ulric’s life, we wouldn’t be connected at all,” Sirena sighed. “It’s a tragic fate. If I had stayed by Ulric’s side from the start, he wouldn’t have used Rosalind as my substitute, and none of this would have happened.”
Lion looked at her face closely. She did resemble Rosalind somewhat, but while Rosalind was gentle and serene, Sirena had a hidden fierceness that she couldn’t completely mask.
“I’m not interested in your past with Ulric, but if you harm Rosalind, I won’t let you get away with it.”
Sirena shrugged and smiled, “Alright! I promise.”

Ulric prepared a table full of delicious dishes. Jake had gained quite a bit of weight staying with him recently.
“Eat slowly; it’s not good for digestion at night.” Ulric was always attentive, even picking out fish bones before giving the fish to Jake.
Rosalind felt assured knowing Jake was with Ulric. If it weren’t for the threats from the Walters family parents, she knew how well Ulric could take care of people.
Holding her bowl, Rosalind watched Jake eat the meat Ulric gave him and saw him smile up at Ulric repeatedly. Her heart ached more and more.
“Excuse me, I need to use the restroom.”
She couldn’t bear to watch any longer; her eyes were already starting to redden. She quickly got up to leave before Ulric noticed anything.
As soon as Rosalind left, Ulric instinctively wanted to follow and check on her, but Jake grabbed his shirt first.
“Do you want Mommy to stay here tonight?”
Ulric hesitated. “Do you have a way?”
“Of course! The condition is that you let me access W Group’s backend with your permissions!”
