Rosalind remembered the last time she heard him say that, it was because Mrs. Eva insisted on taking her boyfriend to the hospital.
His tone back then was just like now, gentle, affectionate, as if he wanted to drown her in his love…
Unfortunately, she didn’t believe in his love the first time.
This second time… she couldn’t believe he would sacrifice his family for justice either.
“Ulric, you won’t want to know this truth.”
“I do.” Ulric carefully cradled her face like a precious gem, his eyes firm and calm. “Rosalind, tell me.”
He didn’t want Rosalind to push him away whenever something happened. He didn’t want to always investigate on his own. He wanted to be Rosalind’s support, to hear her share her grievances, complaints, and anger with him so they could face them together.
Countless possibilities flashed through Rosalind’s mind. Finally, as if waking from a dream, she forcefully pushed Ulric away.
“The truth is I hate you. I hate everyone in your family. I want you to stay away from me! I’ve fallen in love with Malcolm-”
Before she could finish speaking, Ulric swallowed the rest of her words with another kiss!
But this time, the kiss wasn’t as fierce as the last one.
After breaking through her teeth with his tongue, he began to gently suck on her sweetness, trying to explore every corner of her mouth…
Today, Ulric was particularly unusual.
Rosalind didn’t know what he had gone through!
After several failed attempts to struggle free, she raised her hand and slapped Ulric across the face-
A red mark instantly appeared on his handsome face.
“Are you crazy?!”
“Yes, I am crazy.” Even he didn’t know what he was doing now!
He hadn’t just gone crazy today; he had been crazy since the day he divorced Rosalind.
Otherwise, how could he have obsessively tracked her down? He had warned himself countless times to let go of the past, to let go of Rosalind. But whenever there was any sign of movement, his heart would instantly revive and refuse to be extinguished.
Rosalind’s name seemed etched into his DNA, impossible to alter.
How could Ulric not feel shame? He had been a favored child all his life, always the center of attention and admiration! Facing her coldness and harsh words time and again hurt him deeply. Yet in the next moment, he would still approach Rosalind like a devoted follower.
God knew how happy he was when he confirmed that Jake was the child Rosalind had given birth to for him.
He wanted to rush to Rosalind and ask why she had been so cruel not to tell him, why she had lied!
But in the end, he said nothing. He had to keep pretending for Rosalind’s sake.
Now that he had finally brought Rosalind before him, he couldn’t let her run away!
“Let me go. I have to leave!” Rosalind didn’t want to continue entangling with him here; she had more important things to do today.
But after taking just a few steps, she heard Ulric’s cold voice from behind.
“The person you wanted to meet with Malcolm has already been taken by me.”
Rosalind’s back stiffened; she slowly turned around. “You investigated Malcolm?”
“Yes.” Ulric admitted openly.
He had already dealt harshly with Lion; how was Malcolm any different?
“Ulric, I need to see B7! It’s very important!” Rosalind didn’t want to miss any sliver of hope.
“If I’m happy enough, I might consider letting you see him.”
Rosalind gritted her teeth. “… What will make you happy?”
“Come back with me to Easthaven Bay.”
