“You saw it too; he has helped me a lot. At the very least, I don’t want his project to fail in my hands.”
Regan smiled faintly, “Callie, you are a very sincere person, but in this circle, sincerity doesn’t seem to be of much use.”
Callie also smiled at this, “As long as I can keep my own sincerity, that’s enough.”
“Aren’t you afraid Nelson will get angry if he finds out? This is a great opportunity to defeat Scott Group.”
“He won’t.” Callie answered quickly, facing the doubt, she simply said, “He wouldn’t want to win through bloodshed either.”
Regan heard this and didn’t comment. Her gaze suddenly fell on Callie’s high heels. “I remember that your shoe size was sold out at Ylosea. Where did you get them?”
Callie looked down, “Anbusea. He brought them back for me when he was on a business trip.”
Her words were filled with the affection of the one beside her pillow.
Upon hearing this, Regan’s smile faded a bit, “Anbusea is a nice place. I went there during a trip.”
Callie was surprised, “How was it?”
“It happened to rain those days, quite melancholic.”
She seemed to understand and not understand at the same time.
As she spoke, Regan could still feel a faint pain in her heart.
The two were now close friends. Callie tentatively asked, “Are you going to meet Isaac next?”
Mentioning this name, Regan immediately showed disgust, “Yes, we haven’t divorced yet. I came back to see him.”
Her words were sarcastic. Callie worriedly held her hand. Regan shrugged indifferently, “He has made one mistake; he can’t afford to make another one publicly unless he doesn’t want to inherit the Ellison family.”
Callie was confused, feeling that Regan was like water flowing along different paths that she couldn’t grasp.
Before she could ask further, Regan suddenly mentioned, “By the way, when I was in Anbusea, guess who I saw?”
“Who?”
“Jamir.”
At this name, Callie visibly stiffened.
“What’s wrong? Don’t you know him? You introduced him to me as your psychologist.” Regan had no expression, seriously observing her friend’s face.
“Oh, him. What about him?” Callie felt guilty and turned to sip her coffee.
“I just found out he has another identity. He is the eldest son of the Quinn family in Ylosea and is set to inherit the family fortune.”
“Where did you hear that?”
“Didn’t you know? I thought you were at least friends.” Regan answered evasively, trying to read the past from her stiff back.
Callie didn’t want to acknowledge Jamir’s existence and didn’t want any future connection with him.
“College classmates. I’m not close to him.”
She clearly distanced herself from him, which was completely different from the enchanting look and tender tone when Jamir mentioned her.
Regan felt the disconnect.
“He’s no longer my psychologist. Now he’s become the heir of the Quinn family. It’s quite strange.”
“Since he’s back in Ylosea, it’s better not to see him again.”
Regan stood behind her without any expression, numbly saying, “I agree.”
The rain in Anbusea had seeped into her heart. The man’s indifferent voice echoed in her ears, “Regan, you say I’m your medicine. Shouldn’t you pay something to get this medicine?”
She trembled in the rain, “What do you want?”
“Very simple.” He chuckled lightly, “Everything in Ylosea.”
