Chapter 613: Repeated Mistakes for Callie

Book:Married The Day We Met Published:2025-2-7

Callie felt a pang of bitterness in her heart. She thought that if she had not met the stunning Nelson, she might still be infatuated with the high-spirited Jamir.
But she had met him.
Nelson was a proud man, even when he expressed his feelings for his beloved ones.
“I’m sorry. I’m not worth it.” After saying this, Callie got out of the car and left, as if fleeing.
Jamir was a smart man; he naturally understood what Callie meant, so he did not chase after her.
He exhaled and Nelson’s sharp image appeared in his mind.
At that moment, his phone rang. It was his assistant: “Jamir, something’s wrong! Your brother is causing trouble at the company…”
Actually, the assistant was nervous about using the term “brother,” since he was not a biological brother but an illegitimate child…
“What does he want?”
“He claims he wants half of the shares!”
Jamir watched Callie’s figure disappear around a corner and did not chase after her. He turned the steering wheel, “I’m coming back right away.”
Callie returned to Paucaster Villa. In the winter garden, the flowers looked as wilted as frostbitten eggplants, covered with a thin layer of frost, sparkling and translucent.
She squatted down as she passed by and brushed off the frost. A servant standing at the door watched this scene and thought of a saying. “In me the tiger sniffs the rose.”
“Madam, are you okay?”
Callie forced a smile, “I’m fine.”
Her current complexion looked like a facade barely holding up.
In the meeting, Nelson could hide Callie’s betrayal from outsiders, but not from the Oconnor family.
“We entrusted Oconnor Group to you, only for you to make repeated mistakes for a woman?” Dale slammed the table and glared at the man standing in front of him, “This is not what you promised me.”
Nelson’s eyelids lifted slightly, and his aura emerged.
“Oconnor Group didn’t lose anything in yesterday’s meeting, and it won’t in the future either. You should understand my character.”
What kind of character did Nelson have? He was vengeful! There was no way he would let Jamir take advantage without repercussions. Even if Jamir had the ability, he might not have the fortune to enjoy it.
“Nelson…” Shamar stood by for a long time and couldn’t help but advise.
“It’s been a while since I’ve seen you.” Nelson smirked, “Have you handled things up north? Business is tough in cold weather.”
Shamar nodded slightly, “It’s tough indeed. Nelson, the Quinn family is one of the top families in Anbusea. Let’s not provoke Jamir too much.”
Nelson squinted his eyes and rubbed his fingertips together, “Provoke? However powerful his family is, he’s in Ylosea, my territory. He dared to come to Ylosea and expects me to back down?”
“What do you mean by provoke? Do you think all men revolve around your wife?” Dale sneered.
Nelson raised an eyebrow at this, “Indeed, not everyone revolves around her. Just like you, uncle, revolving around my mother didn’t get you anywhere either.”
“Nelson!” This was highly disrespectful. Dale stood up with his cane and pounded it on the ground.
“Aunt has been gone for many years. It’s understandable that you can’t stand being lonely. But if you’re with Lucia, it’s hard for me to address you properly.” Nelson openly joked without any respect for his uncle, not considering her his mother at all.
“You!” Dale was so angry he could barely stand.
“Nelson, that’s too much…” Shamar couldn’t help but speak up.
“Since business is tough up north, don’t go out to sea these days.” Nelson glanced sideways, subtly shifting the topic to Shamar, retorting without showing any emotion.
