Despite the countless disciples surrounding him, at the rate he was killing them, it wouldn’t take long before every single one was slaughtered.
The spectators in the stands grew increasingly uneasy. It seemed this man wasn’t just boasting-he truly possessed terrifying skills.
As they looked down at the Nightshade Square, now a living hell, doubt began to creep into everyone’s hearts.
This man was a bloodthirsty executioner. Even in this era, he could kill with such ease and precision-it was horrifying.
Jon Krohn could no longer stand idly by.
Turning to Firestone, he exclaimed, “Lord Firestone, Grand Lords, if he keeps slaughtering like this, it won’t be long before all the disciples are dead. Please, allow us to step in and put an end to this madness. We request to fight!”
Firestone turned to glance at the four Grand Lords, as if seeking their approval. They nodded slightly and said, “Go, handle it quickly and end this battle.”
Receiving the order, Jon Krohn and the others’ spirits rose high. Jon Krohn shouted at Kayden, “Kid, the fight is over!”
“All of you, stand down!” Jon Krohn commanded loudly.
With his words, eight figures emerged from the stands. Each carried a different weapon, their faces radiating arrogance and disdain. They stood as though they were the saviors destined to bring peace to this chaos.
The eight stepped forward, and Jon Krohn barked again, “Take your positions!”
At his command, the eight leapt into action, positioning themselves around Kayden in eight distinct directions.
They formed an octagonal formation, each wielding a unique weapon. From the looks of it, these eight Enforcers were no ordinary opponents.
Kayden swept his cold gaze across the eight. His eyes, frigid as ancient ice, froze the air with their indifference.
“I hope you don’t disappoint me,” he said, his voice calm but sharp. “Give me a proper fight, so I can finally enjoy myself for once.”
It had been a long time since Kayden had experienced a battle that thrilled him. Ever since restoring five layers of his powers, he hadn’t faced a truly worthy opponent. The fight with the Five Ghosts? That didn’t count-they were far too weak, not worth mentioning.
“You’re dead!” Jon Krohn shouted arrogantly, then turned to his fellow Enforcers. “Move!”
At his command, the eight began to move around Kayden in synchronized steps.
Their movements were fluid, practiced-clearly, they had rehearsed this maneuver countless times. Their forms, techniques, and coordination were flawless, as if they had become one.
As they moved, an invisible iron cage seemed to form around Kayden, trapping him in the center.
Above him, a golden dome began to materialize, clearly visible to the naked eye.
“He’s done for. He’s dead!”
The sight of this formation caused many disciples to cheer excitedly.
They had only ever heard of the eight Enforcers’ legendary technique, but seeing it in action for the first time left them ecstatic.
In the stands, Lucy felt a pang of worry. She swallowed hard, wanting to speak but ultimately holding back.
“Just eight Enforcers,” she thought. “He can handle this. If he can’t even deal with them, how will he face the four Grand Lords later?”
At that moment, lightning began to crackle around Kayden again. He surveyed the eight with a relaxed expression, as if he were merely observing a passing breeze.
“I hope you don’t let me down,” he said lightly.
With that, he stomped the ground hard. The force of his step seemed to shatter the heavens, and a surge of lightning enveloped his entire body.
“Kill him!”
Jon Krohn’s voice pierced the air, commanding and filled with authority.
At his order, eight beams of light shot toward Kayden, tearing through the air like meteors.
The power was immense-terrifyingly so.
The eight Enforcers lived up to their reputation.
Kayden, however, remained unshaken. Holding his broken blade, he stood tall, brimming with confidence. It was as if he didn’t even notice the eight streaks of light hurtling toward him.
“Kayden, watch out!”
Lucy finally couldn’t hold back and shouted a warning.
But her worry was unnecessary.
The moment the eight beams reached Kayden, he raised his broken blade. A series of sharp metallic clangs rang out as he deflected each and every one.
The beams retreated, only to be replaced by eight more. The result was the same-Kayden’s broken blade blocked them all.
The battlefield erupted with lightning and blinding light.
Despite the intensity of the fight, Kayden remained unscathed, not even breaking a sweat.
The eight Enforcers, on the other hand, were drenched in sweat, their limbs trembling with exhaustion.
They were dumbfounded. They had fought with all their might, yet they couldn’t even touch Kayden. It was unbelievable.
“How is this possible?” one of the Enforcers gasped. “How could a broken blade withstand our attacks?”
Their assaults were said to be earth-shattering, capable of annihilating anything in their path. Yet this broken blade had defied all logic.
“Quick! Lock him down!” Jon Krohn shouted, abandoning the attack and switching to a Locking Dragon Formation.
In the stands, Firestone’s expression grew tense. His brows furrowed as he turned to the elders behind him.
“What do you think? Can the eight Enforcers defeat him?” he asked.
One of the Grand Lords replied confidently, “The Locking Dragon Formation is the pinnacle of Grand-level techniques. If he’s at the Grand level, he will undoubtedly die.”
Firestone nodded slightly but said nothing more. However, his confidence wavered. A trace of unease crept into his heart.
This man was too strong. He had slaughtered thousands of cultivators without breaking a sweat. Even the eight Enforcers’ formation seemed ineffective.
Within the formation, Kayden raised his head, glancing at the faint golden dome above him.
“Finally,” he muttered.
At Jon Krohn’s command, the eight Enforcers charged at Kayden once more, while the golden dome above him pressed downward with immense force.
This time, Kayden moved.
As the eight rushed toward him and the dome descended, he threw his broken blade into the air.
The blade spun wildly, slicing through the air like a storm.
Just as the eight were about to strike him, the blade moved on its own.
A series of sharp whistling sounds echoed through the air, followed by cries of pain.
Lightning surged violently around Kayden.
He raised his hands and let out a thunderous roar as the descending golden dome met his power.
A golden dragon seemed to erupt from his palms, soaring into the sky.
With an ear-splitting roar, the dragon collided with the dome.
A deafening explosion followed, shaking the heavens.
The golden dome shattered into pieces.
The Locking Dragon Formation was destroyed.
