Chapter 446: A Terrified Amelia

Amelia watched as Kayden approached her step by step, her expression growing more complex with every moment. She was already a captivating beauty, exuding natural charm. Now, with the subtle shifts in her expression and the slight movements of her body, she became even more dazzling. Sitting on the bed, she was a sight no one could resist.
At her most alluring, however, Amelia noticed something unsettling-Kayden’s face remained stoic, his usual cold and grim expression unchanging. It was as if her charm had no effect on him.
When Kayden finally stood in front of her, he raised a hand and pushed her down onto the bed. Amelia fell softly, letting out a sound that could make anyone’s bones melt. Kayden loomed over her, his eyes scanning her delicate, translucent figure. Then, without hesitation, he climbed onto the bed and straddled her.
Amelia, who had been so confident and seductive just moments ago, felt her heart race wildly as Kayden’s intense gaze bore down on her.
“You offered yourself up,” Kayden said with a sly smile. His hand reached for the hem of her long dress. The soft sensation under his touch sent a jolt through him, but his smile only grew more sinister.
Amelia swallowed hard, her unease growing. This man-who had seemed merely cold and aloof before-now exuded something far darker, something that made her skin crawl. The way he perched over her made her entire body break out in goosebumps. His touch didn’t bring the comfort she expected; instead, it filled her with dread.
It was a feeling she hadn’t experienced in years. For someone like Amelia, a woman who had navigated both the ruthless world of business and the complexities of relationships, men were nothing new. She had used her body as a bargaining chip in her early career, treating the battlefield of the corporate world no differently than the games of the heart. Yet, she had never encountered a man like Kayden.
She had thought her charm could conquer him, thought his youthful arrogance would crumble under her allure. Instead, the tables had turned completely. His chilling words-“You offered yourself up”-echoed in her ears like a voice from hell.
Kayden leaned closer, his movements slow and deliberate, his face mere inches from hers. Amelia, who had been writhing moments ago, froze entirely. Her breath caught in her throat.
Finally, Kayden’s lips brushed against her ear as he whispered, “Are you sure you want me to do whatever I want tonight?”
Amelia’s pupils dilated in shock. She swallowed hard, her mind racing. This was, indeed, what she had intended-a calculated gamble to save her father. She had assumed Kayden wouldn’t be able to resist her, that at worst, she’d endure a night of passion in exchange for the medicine her father so desperately needed. But now, she realized she had gravely underestimated him.
This man wasn’t just cold-he was dangerous. A predator.
Looking at his sinister grin, Amelia felt her courage ebb away. Though she wanted to save her father and brother, she no longer had the strength or confidence to carry on. She couldn’t predict what this man would do next.
As her heart pounded in her chest, Kayden slowly pushed himself up, still pinning her beneath him. His hand reached out, brushing a stray strand of hair from her face before trailing down to her skin.
“Relax,” he said, his voice dripping with malice. “As long as you obey me tonight, I promise you’ll leave with the medicine for your father and your brother’s position restored. Besides, I’ve never touched a woman your age before. Your skin feels… unique. I imagine it will be an interesting experience.”
His wicked smile deepened, and Amelia shivered uncontrollably. This was too much. Too strange. Too terrifying.
“No!” Amelia suddenly screamed, as if waking from a nightmare. She shoved Kayden with all her strength.
But Kayden caught her wrist effortlessly. His eyes locked onto hers, his voice calm but threatening. “Don’t worry. I won’t hurt you. It might feel uncomfortable at first, but you’ll enjoy it soon enough.”
“No! No! No!” Amelia cried out, struggling desperately. Her fear consumed her as she flailed against him, but Kayden held her firmly in place.
This man was a lunatic. A complete madman. Every movement he made felt like a threat, every word a dagger to her resolve.
“Stop! I don’t want it anymore! I don’t want your medicine! Let me go!” Amelia screamed, her once-perfectly styled hair now a wild mess. She thrashed and sobbed, but Kayden’s grip didn’t loosen.
Grabbing her face, forcing her to meet his gaze, he said coldly, “I told you-you came to me willingly. Now that you’re here, you’re not leaving.”
Tears streamed down Amelia’s cheeks as her body trembled uncontrollably. She bit her lip and shook her head, whispering, “No… please, no…”
Kayden didn’t respond. Instead, he sat up, his lips curling into a cruel smile as he began unbuckling his belt.
That was when Amelia snapped. With a burst of adrenaline, she pushed against his chest as hard as she could. Caught off guard, Kayden stumbled backward and fell.
Amelia didn’t hesitate. Barefoot, she leapt off the bed and bolted for the door, her feet slapping against the floor as she ran.
“Crazy! He’s crazy!” she muttered under her breath, her voice trembling with fear. She didn’t stop, didn’t look back.
Kayden, still on the bed, noticed her abandoned red high heels. “Hey, your shoes!” he called after her, but Amelia was already gone.
He sat there for a moment, watching the empty doorway, then let out a long sigh of relief. Finally, he could rest.
Kayden had never intended to harm her. His goal was simple: to scare her enough so she wouldn’t cling to him anymore. Amelia was a dangerous woman-persistent, resourceful, and far too determined. She had managed to find him when no one else could. If he didn’t frighten her, she would never leave him alone.
After tonight, Kayden was sure she wouldn’t dare approach him again.
Life and death were matters of fate. Amelia’s father had lived a long life, and Kayden saw no reason to defy nature just to save him. The medicine she sought was never an option.
Exhaling deeply, Kayden lay back on the bed, his thoughts drifting to Georgia. At the end of the day, he was just a man-a man with desires and emotions like anyone else.
