The store manager, being a woman of experience, recalled her boss once explaining different types of bank cards to her. The boss had mentioned purple-gold cards, silver cards, and the prestigious Throne Diamond Card.
But when introducing the Ultimate Black Card, he emphasized its exclusivity: only two people in the entire country possessed one. Owning this card meant one’s wealth was perpetual, safeguarded for eternity as long as the nation stood.
Kayden retrieved his Ultimate Black Card, cast a cold glance at the store manager, and walked away with Felicity without saying another word.
This exit left the store manager and her staff utterly dumbfounded.
“Who is he? How can he be so rich? Look at his outfit-it’s barely worth a couple hundred bucks, yet he spends over two hundred grand on his girl without even blinking. That’s next-level swagger!”
“If only I could find a boyfriend like that!”
“Pfft, do you think it’s that easy? Can’t you tell it’s true love? The girl’s not even that pretty. She must’ve been through hell with him when they were broke. Now that he’s struck gold, he’s spoiling her.”
“Get real! As if any man can resist temptation once he’s rich!”
“Then why didn’t you ask for his number? When you meet someone like that, you should jump at the chance!”
The group laughed and chatted, except for one salesperson who stood silently, her mood sinking lower by the second.
She had looked down on Kayden and Felicity, convinced they were bluffing. But when the bill came, Kayden casually paid the full amount, leaving her utterly humiliated.
“Manager!” The guilty salesperson approached the store manager with her head hung low.
The manager frowned. “I told you not to judge people by their appearance. Why didn’t you listen?”
The salesperson mumbled, “Manager, their clothes didn’t scream wealth, and their vibe wasn’t exactly ‘low-key billionaire.’ Who could’ve known-”
“Do you think rich people tattoo their net worth on their foreheads? There are countless low-profile millionaires out there. Never judge someone by their looks.” The manager’s tone was sharp.
Still unconvinced, the salesperson muttered under her breath, “Probably some lottery winner. The money won’t last long.”
The manager noticed her employee’s defiance and said, “Don’t be so naive. That man is way out of our league. Did you see his card? It was the Ultimate Black Card!”
“Ultimate Black Card?” Several employees echoed in confusion.
“Yes,” the manager confirmed. “It’s a card reserved for people of extraordinary status-those who have made significant contributions to the nation. Their wealth is inexhaustible, guaranteed for life. So, whenever you meet someone like that, respect them. Profusely.”
Inexhaustible wealth. Contributions to the nation.
These words struck the staff like a thunderclap, leaving everyone wide-eyed and speechless.
Outside the store, Felicity’s emotions were a whirlwind of excitement and anxiety. She had just bought over two hundred thousand dollars’ worth of clothes-an exhilarating yet nerve-wracking experience.
Holding several shopping bags, she followed closely behind Kayden, who remained as stoic as ever.
Felicity wanted to speak several times, but his cold demeanor silenced her each time.
Finally, she mustered the courage. “Kayden, why are you so good to me?”
Kayden abruptly stopped and turned to face her.
Felicity met his gaze, but after a few seconds, she shyly looked away, unable to hold his intense, glowing eyes.
“Because you’re special,” he said simply.
To him, it was an undeniable fact.
Felicity, who had the Innate Spiritual Body, was one of the Earth’s rarest beings.
But to her, his words sounded like a heartfelt confession.
Her cheeks flushed as she lowered her head, a small smile forming on her lips. She was about to speak when a cheerful voice interrupted. “Kayden!”
They turned to see a vibrant young woman running toward them. She was radiant, her smile as bright as a blooming flower.
Her ponytail bounced with each step, and her casual outfit-jeans and a black T-shirt-only enhanced her natural charm.
The girl quickly reached them, grabbing Kayden’s arm with enthusiasm. “Kayden! I finally found you. I had no idea you were here in Vernon!”
Seeing their intimacy, Felicity’s heart sank. Who is she? His girlfriend?
She couldn’t imagine Kayden having a girlfriend, but now she wasn’t so sure. A man like him could have any woman he wanted.
For example, even an unapproachable beauty like Amelia, that high-and-mighty female CEO, would take the initiative to approach him! Not to mention the cute, cheerful, and sweet-looking girl in front of him.
Kayden’s demeanor didn’t change. He regarded Ann with his usual coldness.
Unbothered by his aloofness, Ann glanced at Felicity and asked with innocent curiosity, “Kayden, who’s this? A friend of yours?”
Kayden’s expression grew cautious as he scanned their surroundings.
The Scott family was known for its formidable warriors, and he couldn’t risk them discovering Felicity.
“Felicity, you should head back for now. I’ll come find you later,” he said.
Felicity was taken aback but nodded reluctantly. “Oh, okay,” she mumbled.
With her head lowered, she walked away, her steps heavy with disappointment.
Maybe that girl really is his girlfriend. Why else would he send her away?
Even so, she felt grateful. Today had been like a dream-a memory she would treasure forever.
Ann paid no attention to Felicity’s departure. Once she was gone, she turned back to Kayden. “Kayden, it was so hard to track you down! Why didn’t you let me know you were in Vernon?”
“What do you want?” Kayden asked bluntly.
