The way he showed great respect for the foreigner, Stewart, proved he was indeed a lapdog! A dog is at least loyal to its home and its owner who feeds him, but Cohen was no better than a dog. To call him a lapdog was the greatest insult to dogs!
“Then get him out of my sight! Otherwise, I’ll report this to Frontier Society and they’ll do it.” Stewart viciously pointed at Kayden, looking enraged.
Frontier Society was a foreigners’ organization, like a consulate, which was led by some of Seclela’s diplomats and some foreigners working in Seclela.
Cohen’s eyes shifted to Kayden, who was still sitting in that chair, looking calm and composed. His expression slowly turned proud after he saw Kayden. It seemed that, when facing Stewart, he was a humble servant, while in front of Kayden, he was a king.
“Did you fucking hit Mr. Stewart?” Cohen asked, his eyes staring straight at Kayden, his tone arrogant and threatening.
Kayden didn’t answer, but the female manager beside him intended to add fuel to the fire, “Yes, sir. He’s the one who did it. He also said he would cripple Mr. Stewart, not only that, when he heard you were coming here, he said he would do it to Mr. Stewart in front of you!”
Once he heard that, Cohen’s expression became even more complicated as he stared straight at Kayden and said, “You’re fucking something! Pretty wild!”
Kayden still didn’t say anything, he just sat in his chair with a bland look on his face and watched Cohen in silence.
It was the first time Cohen had seen such a composed man, and he wondered whether he had met with a hard case.
However, on second thought, what could this young man, who was merely in his twenties, have to fight him? At most, this guy might know some fighting, which would not be of any use at all in front of him. Thinking of this, Cohen proudly said, “I have lived in Inassea for decades, and no one has ever dared to make trouble on my turf… I’ve owned this restaurant for ten years, and people come here to eat. To come here and make trouble, you’re the first.”
“Now, I’ll give you two choices. First, kneel in front of Mr. Stewart and cut your hands as an apology. Second, I’ll break both your hands and feet and throw you out! You can crawl on the ground for the rest of your life, like a dog!”
Hearing this, Mr. Stewart added, “After that, I want him to watch as his girlfriend sucks my dick! I want to see his tears and pain!”
When he finished speaking, Mr. Stewart felt a surge of excitement in his heart and laughed out in triumph.
Sophie clenched her fists as she listened, she gritted her teeth and wanted to respond, but before she could speak, Cohen got a little impatient and asked, “Why don’t you say something, boy?”
He had been the one talking since he came in, and Kayden hadn’t said a word.
The female manager sneered, “Mr. Saunders, he must have been frightened by your imposing presence. He acted quite brave just now, but now he doesn’t even dare to speak! He’s good at bluffing!”
The manager’s comment caused Sophie to wonder for a moment. Was Kayden really too scared to speak?
When the thought came to her, she heard Kayden speak, “That sign, did you make it?”
He calmly pointed to the wall, on which a sign wrote, “Westerners First”, and turned a deaf ear to what Cohen had just said.
Cohen hesitated for a few seconds and his eyes shifted over. After seeing the sign, he nodded and said, “Yes, I stipulated that, is there a problem?”
Kayden looked at Cohen as if he was pronouncing the latter’s death sentence, then sighed and asked, “Why doesn’t that foreigner have to wait in line?”
Kayden asked again. Even though the manager had just answered him, he wanted to hear it from Cohen, the owner of the restaurant.
Cohen sneered, “Because we only serve their food here. Of course, we should prioritize them. They know more about food than people here do, so I prioritize them. What’s wrong with that?”
He didn’t feel anything wrong with his words.
“Uh-huh!” Kayden said with a nod, “Good, then from today on, that rule doesn’t exist anymore.”
“What?” Cohen thought he’d misheard and asked again.
Kayden replied nonchalantly, “I said, from this day forward, there will be no such signs on Seclela’s land!”
Cohen’s body froze as he heard that. If it weren’t for the fact that Kayden said that right to him and that every word was crystal clear, he would have suspected that he had misheard. Cohen blinked and re-examined Kayden, and a long while passed before he laughed and said, “Are you telling me a joke? What? Did you watch too many hero movies and want to hold justice in my place?”
“What an ignorant guy!”
Kayden scrutinized the smug Cohen and said word by word, “I will make it clear to you. First of all, I’ll buy your restaurant. From now on, this restaurant of yours will belong to me, and you, who don’t deserve to live in this country, also have two choices. One is to have your limbs broken by me and you kicked out of the country. The other is, I will kill you and dump your body in his country.”
The second half of the sentence was almost a replication of what Cohen had just said. Albeit with threats, no one would care. It was the first half of his sentence that people cared about.
Hearing Kayden’s words, Sophie was very surprised and asked, “What did you say? Did I hear you right? You’re going to buy this place?”
Kayden didn’t look like a rich man from the way he dressed. Could it be that he was going to get money from Sariah to buy the place? It did seem like a way to go against Cohen’s behavior and approach, acquiring the place and redoing everything. However, the fact that the money needed wasn’t his but someone else’s made Sophie think less about Kayden. At the end of the day, he lived off a woman.
“Pfft!” Cohen laughed again, then with a slap on his thigh, he took two steps forward and lowered his head to look down at Kayden and asked, “You’re buying my restaurant?”
“Did everyone hear that? This guy is talking about buying my restaurant!”
It was as if he had heard a great joke, he couldn’t stop laughing.
After the laughter, he waved his hand and said, “OK, I admire you for having the guts. I can sell it to you, but do you know how much this restaurant of mine is worth?”
Kayden didn’t answer as he knew that Cohen hadn’t finished. Soon, Cohen raised a finger and said, “The market value now has reached one hundred million. It’s okay with me if you want to acquire it, just give me two hundred million. As long as you give me two hundred million, you’ll own this restaurant! And you can then do whatever you want with that sign.”
After saying his words, he looked at Kayden with eyes full of scorn. He didn’t believe that Kayden had two hundred million! Even if he really had two hundred million, he didn’t have the qualifications to buy his restaurant!
This was his restaurant and he wasn’t going to give it away to some clown!
Kayden looked up and around the restaurant, then said, “No! This restaurant isn’t worth two hundred million. It’s worth two dollars. I’ll give you two dollars for your restaurant.”
