At that thought, Preston’s eyes suddenly turned red, followed by a cold sneer.
He thought, “It’s just a woman. It’s not a big deal. If I don’t see her for ten days or two weeks, I’ll forget about her.”
After giving Harper one last glance, Preston turned around to leave with heavy steps.
After playing with Jayden and his colleagues for a while, Harper was called out by her manager who informed her that a big shot had arrived.
She said goodbye to Jayden and immediately got up to go downstairs. However, when she got out of the elevator, she saw Preston leaving the nightclub.
He seemed to have gotten hammered, swaying on his feet as he walked away, relying on the door and walls for support.
When Preston walked onto the road, he was almost hit by a speeding car. Harper was so worried that she rushed out.
“Pre…”
Before Harper could call out his name, Elsie, disregarding the danger, rushed into the traffic and helped Preston up.
The woman with a clean and fair complexion helped him to the side of the street. She was very nervous and worried and cried as she threw herself into his arms.
Preston didn’t reach out to hug Elsie. Instead, he turned around and looked at Harper who was standing in the nightclub hall.
Ile thought, “This woman is really ruthless. She didn’t even come to check on him when she saw that I almost got hit by a
car.”
Preston sneered and then, in front of Harper, wrapped his arm around Elsie’s waist and turned to leave while holding her.
Harper lowered her gaze and felt she gradually calmed down from nervousness. Then, she turned around.
When she looked up, she suddenly met Johnny’s beautiful face and his pair of eyes filled with hostility.
Those eyes scared Harper so much that her heart, which had just calmed down, started pounding again.
“M-Mr. Brook…”
Harper was surprised to see Johnny showing up again, and she took a step back in fear.
Johnny, however, took a step forward and approached her. His sharp and handsome eyebrows were slightly raised as he looked at her.
“It’s been long. Ms. Duke.
“Mr. Brook, what can I do for you?” asked Harper.
Johnny was quite good-looking, but he had a bit of a bad
temper.
The last time he came here to book the whole nightclub and asked about Rosalie’s whereabouts, Harper was so scared that she couldn’t even breathe.
Harper was terrified at the time, but still lied to Johnny to protect Taya, claiming that Rosalie had gone to Aronland.
After such a long time, Johnny came to Harper again. It was likely that he found out she had deceived him, and now he was back to seek revenge.
As Harper quickly analyzed why Johnny had come to see her, she pretended to look at him with a smile as if nothing had happened.
When dealing with someone who had a bad temper, one had to be gentle and try to appease them.
“The question. Where is Rosalie?”

Johnny stood in front of Harper with one hand in his pocket, towering over her by a head’s length, and had to tilt his neck down to look at her.
Fortunately,
helped to suppress his irritation. Otherwise, he would have definitely lost his temper at the moment.
He was, after all, the head of the Brook pack. This nightclub owner should not have made him stand while speaking. Johnny thought Harper really didn’t know how to do business.
Harper was afraid of him, so she forgot to invite him to sit in the private room. It wasn’t because she didn’t know how to do business.
If it were someone else, they would have been invited in and treated well long ago.
It was just because Harper had deceived him before that she felt guilty and didn’t dare to do it again.
Seeing that Johnny didn’t cause any trouble for her but only asked about Rosalie’s whereabouts, Harper breathed a sigh of
relief.
It seemed that Johnny, just as she had thought, has a quick temper and lacked the patience to verify Rosalie’s flight information, and thus believed her words.
If he believed her words, he wouldn’t come to hold her accountable, which was actually quite good.
“But how can I explain Rosalie’s situation to him?” wondered Harper.
She thought for a moment and decided to continue deceiving
him.
Anyway, Johnny doesn’t look very smart.
“Well.”
After coughing, Harper covered her mouth and showed a sad expression.
“Rosalie has pa*sed away. She was just buried recently. If you had come earlier, you could have seen her ashes for the last time.”
“What?!”
