The smell of gunpowder instantly filled the night sky, irritating everyone’s nasal passages.
Nick and Kevin fought their way back, firmly protecting the four suitcases behind them.
The small pistols quickly ran out of bullets, and the two quickly retreated behind a nearby building, the wall riddled with bullet holes.
“Gather around! He’s over here! Hurry!”
An excited shout came from the people gradually gathering around.
Kevin leaned against the wall and reloaded his pistol, and Nick, looking down, was shocked to see the bloodstains on his pants leg.
“The prosthetic didn’t fit properly, and it scratched my flesh. It’s fine,”
Kevin said nonchalantly, but his breath was ragged, “You take the information with you, I’ll distract them.”
After all, the gang’s target wasn’t Nick.
“No, if I leave like this, I can’t explain to Sister Paige when I get back,”
Nick said, suddenly pulling Kevin behind him, and calmly shooting in the front, and a man fell in front of them.
“Charge–”
A shout was heard, and a small group rushed out from around the corner.
The two immediately fired their guns, but they couldn’t hold back the growing number of people on the other side, and footsteps could be heard approaching from behind.
“Master! Let’s go!”
There was another shout, and a few of Kevin’s henchmen rushed over, and they pounced on the people on the other side.
“Bang…”
There was a loud noise, and the sky was filled with flames. The group of people all became firemen, and they fell to the ground one after the other.
In addition to the smell of gunpowder in the air, there was also the smell of burning flesh.
“…”
Kevin was stunned by the scene and subconsciously wanted to move forward.
Nick grabbed him and yelled, “Go! You can only avenge them if you’re alive! Go!”
Kevin’s eyes reddened, and he clenched his teeth as he turned with Nick. He kicked the suitcase in front of him forward with one foot, and used the gun to sweep a way out directly…
Kevin led Nick out of the special trail, seeking survival.
The pursuers continued.
Kevin’s henchmen are blocking the way behind them, falling one after the other.
The entire Lautners family is on fire, sniper rifles are trained on them from above, and the two men can only try to hide.
The suitcases have been shot full of holes.
Two of the suitcases have been lost in the chaos.
The flames are everywhere.
The two men are covered in blood and gunpowder, and they are in a sorry state.
“Brother Nick? Is that you, Brother Nick?”
A voice came cautiously.
Nick looked up and saw a dozen heads poking out from the flowerbed not far away. They were the subordinates he had brought with him.
Everyone was very excited to see Nick. “We heard gunshots inside and felt something was wrong, so we rushed in. Hurry up, we killed our way out.”
On hearing this, Nick was finally relieved, and helped Kevin, who could no longer walk very well, to move forward.
Kevin’s prosthetic leg was bleeding all over his trousers, but he walked on with difficulty, unwilling to slow down Nick and the others.
The group of people protected them tightly, giving them a rear guard.
After emerging from the escape route, they finally got out of the Lautners family.
Several people moved a pile of branches under the tree to reveal two cars.
Kevin looked back, and the sky was lit up with the flames of the fire, illuminating his pale face. He watched, and gradually, weariness and despondency filled his eyes.
A few years ago, he was murdered and drifted to Wind Island, where he was saved by Paige and survived. Over the years, he finally rebuilt the Lautners family. He had thought that the rest of the Lautners family were of one mind with him, but in the end… they were still swayed by interests and power.
He has experienced two family tragedies, and he really doesn’t know what he is holding on to.
Nick looks over, takes two steps forward, and says, “Mr. Kevin, sooner or later the Lautners family will still be yours, and Paige will definitely help you.”
“I owe her too much,”
Kevin says with a bitter smile, turns around, grabs the car door, and gets into the car. “Let’s go, I have a safe house. Let’s go there and hide for a while.”
When they get there, it won’t be so easy for his uncles to deal with him.
“Okay.”
The group squeezed into the car, and loaded the two large suitcases.
When gunshots rang out in the background, the two cars quickly started up and drove recklessly forward.
“Go straight ahead, and turn right at the third traffic light.”
Kevin sat in the car, giving directions, while bending down to pull up his blood-stained trouser leg.
Nick took out a pack of tissues and handed him a bunch of them, “How’s that, can you still hold on?”
“No problem.”
Kevin took the pack of tissues and wiped the blood off while continuing to pull the pant leg up. Suddenly the car shook and he crashed forward.
Nick hurriedly pulled him back. “Why did you suddenly brake?”
“Brother Nick, look…”
His subordinate’s voice was full of panic.
Kevin and Nick looked up and saw that the street lamps in front of them had all gone out. The road stretched out into a foggy darkness, enveloping the sky and earth.
Only the headlights of the cars shone out.
“Bang.”
An ethereal sound rang out in the darkness.
A small white ball jumped into the light and bounced on the road.
One hit.
Another hit.
The next second, a black figure gradually appeared in their field of vision, with a lightly swaying cloak exposed to the light.
A hand reaches out and catches the bouncing white ball with ease, slowly rubbing the ball with the fingertips.

The 10th hour since Kevin and Nick lost contact, Paige is restless at The Capital.
She walks from the building to the courtyard, and then walks out of the courtyard and runs along the road in a circle, but her phone still doesn’t move.
She stopped by the roadside, bent over and pressed her hands to her knees to catch her breath, with large drops of sweat dripping down her forehead.
A flashy sports car pulled up next to her.
A bottle of water was thrown out of the car.
Paige reached out, caught it, unscrewed the cap and gulped the water down. She said anxiously, “Something must have happened. Ten hours, and neither of them has been able to get in touch with the other.”
This is simply not logical.
Enrico is sitting in the driver’s seat, his shirt fluttering in the wind from the lake, his fingers tapping on the steering wheel, “No one has reported to you yet?”
It’s strange that no one has.
Paige bites her lip, and suddenly her phone vibrates. She quickly takes it out, but it’s not Kevin or Nick, it’s a member of the intelligence organization, and this person is still at the border.
When she couldn’t get in touch with anyone last night, she immediately asked this person to find out what was going on.
She threw her water bottle into the car and leaned against the car door to put her phone on speaker.
“Tell me what’s going on at the border,” Paige asked.
“The head of the Lautners family has changed,”
the person on the other end of the line reported with a heavy tone, “Rudolph, the fifth master of the Lautners family, now controls the entire family. He controls it very tightly, and no one can leave. It took me some time to find out the news.”
Upon hearing this, Paige’s face changed. “Already taken control of the Lautners?”
“Yes, I saw a number of the Lautners’ family heads’ trusted subordinates around Rudolph, and it seems that they have all defected,”
the person on the other end of the line said, “The family head may have already fallen into Rudolph’s hands. Mrs. Gustin, please save our family head.”
