“Gabriel is certainly important too.”
Paige immediately got off of Enrico’s lap, pampering Gabriel’s classmate’s little heart.
“Very? Not the most?”
Gabriel narrowed his eyes like a little whiny bitch.
“Uh …”
Paige was about to explain when Enrico sat down, his eyes landing lightly on Gabriel’s, “Come over here and do what?”
“I want Mommy to do my homework with me.” Gabriel said with puffed cheeks.
“I’ll chaperone.” Enrico crooked his finger at him, “Come on, play chess.”
Gabriel ran off with a swoosh, clutching his textbook.
Paige stood there, looking on in tears, and looked to Enrico, “Will this affect your father-son relationship?”
“My son is small, not stupid.”
Enrico gives her a look.
Also.
The fact that her son accepted Enrico so quickly meant that he could perceive that Enrico was good to him and was not his enemy, and with this as a foundation, how could he not want to deviate anywhere.
“Okay, you have a point.”
Paige couldn’t argue with him.
Enrico reached over and pulled her into his arms and sat down, giving her a kiss on the cheek, “Get ready to go back to The Capital.”
He’d agreed to her suggestion.
“Uh-huh.”
Paige nodded as her cell phone suddenly vibrated, she took it out and it was Kevin calling.
Against Enrico’s displeased look, Paige picked up the phone, “Hello.”
“Paige, at least we’re friends, you’ve been hanging out at my place for two months and you literally haven’t had a single phone call?” Kevin’s resentful voice rang out from the phone.
There was a call.
Looking for Monteo.
Before Paige could speak, the phone was snatched up by Enrico, who put it to his ear and said coldly, “Which one of you does she need a ride?”
Not expecting Enrico to answer the phone, Kevin was mute for a few seconds.
“Ahem.”
Kevin coughed twice, clearing his throat to change his tone, “Mr. Gustin, you’ve been at the border for so long and I haven’t even entertained you properly, I’m guilty of being a host.”
“If you’re guilty, find a rope and strangle yourself.”
“…,” Kevin mumbled again.
“Find a lake to jump in and drown yourself.”
“…”
“Or jump off your THE Lautners family building and drop yourself.”
“…”
Paige already had a hundred images of Kevin killing himself in front of her eyes, and she looked over at Enrico, wordlessly asking him to be just a little bit more polite.
Enrico grimaced, “Speak.”
Calling to do what.
Kevin instantly ran out of meandering words and simply stated his purpose, “I’m buying you guys dinner.”
“No.”
Enrico replied indifferently, about to hang up the phone, Kevin suddenly came, “That year Paige was sent to the border by you, at first it was to live in the Lautners family, here are some of her personal belongings, you do not need it, then I … private collection up?”
“…”
Paige was shocked by Kevin, what do you mean private stash of her personal stuff, did he really want to be assassinated?
She looked over at Enrico, and sure enough, Enrico’s face was blue, gloom etched in his eyes.
After a few seconds, Enrico asked in a cold voice, “Address, time.”
“Pick a date, tonight.”
Kevin was also not afraid of death.
Enrico didn’t say anything else and directly hung up the phone, Paige quickly said, “I don’t have anything personal to leave at his place, he’s joking.”
This guy, jokes are not a degree, say this kind of reverie words, really by Enrico killed, she did not know how to say love.
“Oh.”
Enrico didn’t question her anything, still sitting on the sofa holding her with equanimity, hand on her waist rubbing, eyes extraordinarily deep.
“What are you … thinking?” She asked.
“Nothing, just calculating how many tons of explosives it would take to blow up THE Lautners family.” Enrico replied with an expressionless face.
“…”
Paige was completely silent now.
…
It was night and the lights were on.
The clean and tidy highway was filled with cars and vehicles, and the Lautners family stood under the darkness of the night, as if it were a huge palace, dotted with lights like stars all over the place, so beautiful that it didn’t look like the earth.
The Lautners family’s security is extreme, with two rows of bodyguards extending from the front door to the Lautners family in the distance.
A dozen black limousines pulled up in front of the Lautners’ front door.
Paige and Gabriel were sitting in the backseat, and as she looked out the window, a suited and booted Kevin was already standing in front of the gates of his house, waiting, with a number of people from the Lautners family standing behind him, all of them waiting.
Kevin looked exceptionally fair-skinned and handsome amongst the group, with little expression on his face.
Unsure of what the person next to him was saying, he frowned.
Paige observed him, Kevin wasn’t a man without measure, he must have had something important to talk to them about if he risked making boring jokes in front of Enrico to invite him into THE Lautners family.
Seeing their car stop, Kevin stepped forward to open the door for her.
A hand stopped him.
Enrico had gotten out of the car at some point, gave Kevin a cold look, reached down and pulled the door open, took Gabriel out of the car with one hand, looked at Paige and said, “Get out of the car.”
He handed her his other hand.
Paige pulled his hand out of the car, and as soon as she got out, the Lautners family greeted her, “Mr. and Mrs. Gustin, what a great honor for the Lautners family.”
The compliments were overwhelming.
Paige recognized the speaker as one of Kevin’s uncles.
Enrico didn’t recognize the group and didn’t bother, carrying Gabriel inside.
Gabriel happily greeted Kevin, “Hello Uncle Kevin!”
“Long time no see, Gabriel.”
Kevin smoothly took down a string of Buddha beads he was wearing on his hand and gave it to him to play with, “I’m so tired of inviting you two big shots, come on, this way.”
Kevin himself guided them.
Kevin was the one who governed the Lautners family and the borders, but this time Paige noticed something subtle, the Lautners family were talking a little too much.
As they talked about how the Lautners family and the border had changed and evolved over the years, the winds of the conversation were blowing in their favor.
“Mrs. Gustin, do you remember me? We used to see each other a lot back when you lived in the Lautners family.”
“Come on, Mrs. Gustin only talked to the head of our family back then, when did she ever talk to you?”
“That’s true, the head of the house and Mrs. Gustin are very close, I thought we were going to have more than one head of the house’s wife, but I didn’t realize that the two of you were just confidants.”
“That’s not true, when Mrs. Gustin was around, it’s the first time I’ve seen so many smiles on our house master’s face.”
The group murmured.
Paige looked a little suspiciously at Kevin, who didn’t look good, but didn’t say anything.
“Bang!”
Enrico lifted his leg and kicked one of THE Lautners family who was talking the most.
The scene went silent and everyone was dumbfounded, not expecting this Mr. Gustin to just kick someone.
That’s great, Daddy!
Gabriel’s eyes rounded in shock, he too thought the man spoke in an unpleasant voice, but he couldn’t kick anyone with his short legs.
“What does Mr. Gustin mean, this is in THE Lautners family?”
Someone’s face couldn’t hold it.
