Elaine POV
“How do I look?” I asked, trying not to nibble on my bottom lip so I wouldn’t ruin my red lipstick.
Azaire looked up from his phone and straightened his spine. His eyes roamed my legs and my dress. The black dress was just above the knees, flowy with a tight bodice and no straps.
“Wow… wow…”
I giggled. “You said that already.”
“You’re beautiful Elaine. It’s a good thing we’re not coming back here after dinner.”
I exhaled. “I love the sound of that.”
“I’m starting to regret this,” he said.
My eyes widened and my lips parted. “Why?”
“Because other men will be there and they’ll all be looking at you.”
“I won’t be looking at other men so you can leave them alone.”
“They’ll be looking at you. You’re gorgeous, Elle.”
I smiled. “Can we go before you really change your mind?”
He smiled. “Yes.”
Azaire kept the location of our date a secret but I knew it was a hotel because he didn’t want to sleep at the house tonight. A mini getaway was needed. I just hoped he didn’t pick somewhere like Evangeline Hotel, the place that belonged to my Dad’s first wife and Blazer’s mother.
According to Fran, Blazer and his biological mother Andrea were making strides in their relationship but it was delicate. Unlike my Mother Gail, Andrea knew Blazer was alive and living under her older sister’s care in the Pack House. She claimed Laiken threatened her and Blazer if she ever tried to disrupt the delicate balance of his perfect life. Andrea wasn’t even allowed at the Pack House and I imagined her relationship with her sister died the day she gave birth to Blazer.
Now that’s a family reunion I didn’t want to be part of.
After driving for thirty minutes Azaire parked in a busy parking lot of a restaurant named La Gata. The sign was lit up in huge purple lights.
“Where did you find this place?” I asked as Azaire opened the door for me.
“I did my research… I’m trying to be romantic.”
The restaurant was packed I couldn’t see a single empty table in the dining room. It smelled marvellous too. Leaving without sampling the food felt like a crime.
“Mr Shaw, your table is waiting for you upstairs,” the man at the front desk smiled. “Please follow Chantelle to your seats.”
“Are you sure you’ve never been here before?” I questioned as the nice waitress led us to the elevator.
“Never, but I am friends with the owner. We’ve done some damage together.”
Chantelle led us to a large room. The floor was covered in red and white flower petals and the walls were lined with little candles. Our table centred the room. A silver bucket with the drinks waited for us.
“I-I can’t believe you did all this,” I gasped.
“Why not?” he tugged on his collar.
He went the extra mile to wear a suit. Azaire hated jackets and ties but if only he knew how sexy he looked. It was as if the tailor made the suit on his body. He looked perfect. I looked away before he caught me staring. Azaire pulled out a chair for me. He kissed my shoulder before he took his place across from me.
“You look handsome. How lucky can I get?”
His soft laughter escaped his pink lips as he picked up my hand from the table and gently rubbed the back of it. He looked at me with admiration and subtle hunger in his eyes.
“I’m the lucky one. I’m so sorry for messing up,” he confessed.
“You’re not the only one guilty of messing up. I… just thought we were on the same page about most things.”
It was difficult to ignore the topic of children. This was the man I chose to spend the rest of my life with and one of my heart’s desires was to have a child of my own. I’m sure I’d come to love Leon if his mother ever let me near him.
I saw pain flash in his eyes.
“Forget it. Why don’t you tell me about the damage you did with the owner of this restaurant?”
He grinned. “A few blown-up bars and a couple of raids-”
“Raids? I’m sure my Dad wasn’t your own enemy.”
He leaned back in his seat and tugged on his tie. “He definitely wasn’t but the Blood Moon pack is a force to be reckoned with. No one wants to mess with our army. Well, except for…”
“Except for who?”
His eyes widened for a second before he cleared his throat, dipped into the bucket on the table and pulled out a black bottle of wine and a white carton of apple juice.
“This is yours.” He placed the apple juice in front of me.
“What?” I frowned.
What’s he hiding from me? He always did this. He wanted transparency but he proceeded to keep secrets from me as if I was some type of blabbermouth.
“You’re technically not old enough to drink yet. I’m not letting you get me in trouble.”
My jaw dropped. “Only for a couple more months! You let me drink in the Raven Pack.”
“Well, I have a reputation to protect in this town.”
The waitress returned with our orders. My mate as always ordered the steak and potatoes while I opted for the lobster. He told me I could order anything I wanted including the most expensive dish on the menu. With the week I’ve had I needed a little pampering.
After a wonderful dinner, my lipstick was gone and my stomach was full but there was enough room for the carrot cake the waitress brought. We opted to share it.
“You’re probably going to finish this on your own. I’m not big on sweets,” he said, tugging on his tie again.
I set the fork down and slipped out of my seat. He watched me move until I stood beside him. He knew to push his chair back to give me room to sit on his lap.
“It looks like this is troubling you,” I said, freeing him from his tie.
“Elaine…”
I ran my hand down his chest, enjoying his sensational abs. I stopped at his belt and looked into his mesmerizing green eyes. He kept his arms to himself while I unbuttoned his collar and then the next three buttons.
“Maybe I should pay the bill and we can head to the hotel.”
“Oh, doesn’t this place have a hotel?” I asked, gently gliding his shirt open.
“No,” he frowned. “I booked a separate hotel.”
Oh, I didn’t think he’d be that thoughtful.
***
After a quick check-in at the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever been to Azaire and I hurried to our room. The hotel was on neutral territory just outside the Blood Moon Pack. We’d barely made it to our room before Azaire captured my mouth with one swift and dominating kiss.
He kicked the door shut and dumped the keys on the nightstand.
I hadn’t gotten a clear look at the room when my eyes closed for the kiss. It smelt like lavender and honey. Azaire growled as he caressed my shoulders.
“I’m glad you didn’t stick to your threat of no sex,” he said between kisses.
“Don’t tempt me, Azaire,” I teased.
He pushed me onto the bed before he climbed on top. He parted my legs with his knee.
“You’re so beautiful,” he said as he planted kisses on my chest.
I clawed at his jacket trying to find the most effective way to get it off. Eventually, Azaire just yanked it off as if he’d been longing to do that all night. He did the same to my dress.
He stopped to marvel at my body. I bit my bottom lip. I felt so exposed under his gaze. It was almost as if it was the first time we were doing this.
“I’ve been dying to do this,” he said as he lowered himself slowly.
“What?”
He caressed my thigh before lifting my right leg. Azaire kissed my inner thighs and growled impatiently. “You smell so good.”
I panted as he pressed his nose against my clit then moved to kiss my thighs again.
“Azaire,” I moaned.
My underwear came off next. The barrier separating Azaire and my sex was gone and nothing was stopping him. He kissed my tender bud softly before he drove his tongue through my folds and penetrated me. I cupped my mouth to muffle my cries.
He dug his nails into my thighs as he devoured me. My mate was gone replaced by a pussy hungry maniac.
“So good,” he groaned.
I arched my back and attempted to match his pace but he brought me to a shaking orgasm. He finally came up from between my legs and then buried his face in my neck.
I hung onto his solid frame and savoured the feeling of his muscles moving against mine.
“You’re wearing too much clothes,” I whispered.
“You’re right,” he chuckled.
He remained locked between my legs and he gave me the perfect view of his strip tease. When his boxers were gone he captured my lips again. He set my soul and skin on fire. Only Azaire could make me feel this way. He didn’t just own my body he owned my heart and soul. It was dangerous. Our love had been dangerous from the beginning the danger wouldn’t go away now.
Azaire groaned as he slid into me. I moaned as he rocked into me. The harder he thrust the more difficult it became to contain my cries.
The outside world vanished quickly and it was just the two of us that mattered. Us and our desire for one another. I dug my nails into his back as he rocked hard into me and unleashed my second orgasm for the night. I had a sneaky feeling it wouldn’t be my last.
