Chapter 78

Elaine POV
“Richie’s gone to the other safe house to see Opal. The Blood Moon Pack’s secure now we have to deal with your Dad.”
I exhaled and nodded. I kept my gaze on the window. I looked at the trees and road for answers. What would I tell Isaura?
Besides that, I’d run out of time. I had to give up my wolf or magic. I didn’t want to do either but it was a matter of life and death to add to that I was cursed. I suffered with it for years and now I had a chance to get rid of it.
Azaire caressed my thigh. “What’s on your mind?”
“A lot.”
“Gail’s a strong woman.”
“I’m not. I don’t want to lose my mother I just found her.”
“You’re not going to Elaine.”
Azaire hit the accelerator, propelling the car forward when Nik slammed his foot on the truck’s hood. He drove over a hundred miles per hour.
He squeezed my thigh. “Look at me.”
I gingerly turned my head to meet his gaze. “I thought you were going to let Nik take me.”
“Haven’t you realised how in love with you I am?”
“I love you too Azaire. The thought of losing you hurts and it feels like our relationship’s been nothing but you and I being torn apart.”
“It’s not been that bad.”
“Yeah? We haven’t gone on a proper date.”
He ran a hand down his face. “I’ll take you somewhere nice once this is over.”
“If my brother wasn’t trying to break out of a moving car we would pulled over and… well you know.”
“Babe, I can multitask.”
Heat spread across my nose and cheeks. “I don’t want to crash.”
He barked out a laugh. “Do you think I’d let that happen to you?”
I shrugged. “Probably not.”
I smelt his desire I felt like a mouse being drawn to the smell of cheese in those old cartoons. I grinned and failed to resist. I reached for his belt buckle and instantly got wet. I massaged his crotch before I went in. Azaire groaned and rubbed my back. I planted small kisses on his cheeks and giggled.
“That’s a laugh of death, Elaine,” he rasped.
“Okay, I’m sorry. Do you want me to make it better?”
“No! I want your lips around my dick now.”
“Pushy.”
He gripped the stirring wheel while I relished his torture. I sat up and kissed his cheek his neck and his ear. I nibbled on his ear and he grunted.
“Ugh, Elaine.”
I dropped back to his pants. I couldn’t wait to have him in my mouth anymore. I ruined my underwear thinking about it. I freed his rock-hard member and stroked him gently. His hand moved up my body and fisted my hair. The more I stroked the harder he got. I hoped we wouldn’t crash and took the tip between my lips and slowly lowered.
Azaire jolted and his cock went to the back of my throat.
“Darn potholes,” he chuckled.
I rolled my eyes. He did that on purpose. In response, I teased him with slow licks and sucking him until there was no air in my lungs. He felt so good.
“Ugh, that’s my girl but you’re killing me.”
If only he knew I felt like a girl on fire. I stroked and sucked faster. I gripped my right breast and squeezed as I pumped him. Azaire pushed the car faster and I really thought we’d crash into a tree but the thrill made me blow him faster.
Azaire dug his nails into my back as he blew his load in my mouth. I still wanted more of him. My body was buzzing with the need for attention.
“Fuck, we got here too soon,” Azaire said.
Darn it! Back to business.

Lawrence and Blazer were outside looking like they’d returned from a run.
“Did Quin’s information check out?” Blazer asked.
He closed the distance and pulled me into his arms. He kissed my forehead.
“It’ll be fine. We’ll get her back, okay?”
I nodded. “Where’s Isaura?”
“She’s with Rae. She’s doing a lot better. Gail only left so the witches would take their sickness.”
“Maybe if I was here I could have helped,” I sniffled.
“Or you could have given yourself to Dad. That’s not going to help anyone,” Blazer said.
“Yeah. I’ve decided to give up my fangs,” Lawrence confessed.
“Are you sure? You grew up with vampires can you make the adjustment?”
Lawrence nodded. “I’ve always been a shit vampire. Besides, we don’t want Laiken to be the moon god.”
“That’s a nightmare I don’t want coming true,” Azaire mumbled.
“Get me the hell out of here!” Nik pounded in the trunk.
“Well, well, who do we have here? You kidnapped the golden boy?” Blazer asked in amusement.
He pranced to the truck and popped it open.
“It’s a good look for you, Nik,” Blazer said.
“Fuck off runt!” Nik barked.
“I’m not the one defenceless in a trunk. If only Daddy could see you now. Do you really think you’ll be a moon god?”
“All we need is your blood!”
“Enough, get him out of there so we can wait to hear what Daddy says,” Azaire ordered.
Blazer dragged Nik out of the trunk. Nik swung but missed. Blazer laughed and clapped.
“Not such a big shot are you, Nik?” Blazer taunted.
“Whatever. You’ll never be half the wolf I am that’s why you resorted to wolf enhancers.”
Did they have to argue now?
“Turns out I didn’t need them. I’m every bit the wolf you are.”
Nik barked out an evil laugh which wiped out the smile on Blazer’s face. Before I knew it Blazer threw himself on Nik. They wrestled each other to the ground.
“I said enough!” Azaire demanded but Nik punched Blazer relentlessly.
“Lawrence?” I pleaded with my eyes.
He growled and dove in to separate them but he received two angry hands for his trouble.
“Stay out of this!” Blazer yelled as he overpowered Nik.
I stuck to my mate as I watched hatred burn in Blazer’s eyes.
“I didn’t ask your Father to bring me into this world but you hated me as if I begged to live.”
“Blazer, what are you doing?” Lawrence questioned.
Everything happened so fast my mind couldn’t fully process it. Blazer gripped Nik’s head and his wolf flashed vibrantly in his eyes.
“Let’s see who’s stronger now,” a disembodied voice came out of my brother’s mouth.
“Azaire stop him!” I cried.
Azaire shook his head. “There’s nothing we can do.”
What?
Nik cried out, his entire body vibrating while Blazer appeared lost and controlled by his wolf. Azaire pulled my head to his chest as Nik’s cries grew louder and then suddenly everything was quiet. I found the courage to lift my head.
Nik was on the ground, Blazer had stumbled away and a black wolf stood a few feet from Nik’s body.
“Dude, what did you do?” Lawrence asked, his voice filled with horror.
“I-I…” Blazer couldn’t form words.
“Azaire what just happened?” I asked.
“He detached Nik’s wolf.”
