CHAPTER 112: TOKAREV TT-33
NIKOLAI’S POV:
We arrived at the hideout, our cars and trucks surrounding the building. I stood outside, looking at the place and gave the signal to my men. We had planned this rescue carefully, and I wasn’t giving room for failure.
“Let’s move in”, I told my men, keeping my voice low.
We got out of the vehicles, hundreds of us, all armed and ready to fight. Roman’s men didn’t stand a chance. We had the surprise on our side and we had more men.
As we approached the hideout, I could feel my heart beating faster. I was getting angrier, I wanted to just appear right in front of Roman and twist his neck.
I nodded to my team leaders and they told their men to move.
“Lev, on me”, I instructed and he nodded.
We burst into the hideout, a big group of armed men filling the hallways. There was a lot of noise, guns firing, people shouting. We were taking out Roman’s guards, one by one.
I moved forward, my gun ready, as we cleared each room. We were getting closer to our goal, taking out Roman’s maintenance room and weapon room. If we could shut off their power and take away their guns, it would be easier to get to Lily.
We moved through the hallways, I could hear my men taking out Roman’s men. We were working together, like a well-oiled machine.
Then, we got to the maintenance room. I gave the signal and my men burst in, taking out the technicians and shutting off the security systems. There was a loud bang and I smiled to myself. That would get Roman’s attention.
“Let’s move!”, I told my men, as we headed to the next room, “We need to take away their guns and get to Lily”.
As we moved through the hallways, we ran into more of Roman’s guys. They were trying to fight back, but they weren’t strong enough. I took down a few of them, using my gun to hurt them but not kill them. I wanted them to feel pain.
We kept moving, clearing room after room. My guys were doing the same, taking down Roman’s men with ease. We worked well together, like a team.
“Watch out!”, I yelled, firing my gun at another of Roman’s men.
When we turned a corner, we saw a group of Roman’s mens trying to make a stand. They had a lot of guns and looked like they were ready to fight to the end. I smiled, excited for the challenge.
“Get behind something!”, I yelled to my guys, as we hid behind crates and pillars.
The shooting was intense, with bullets flying back and forth. I peeked around the corner of my crate, took aim at one of the bad guys and fired. He fell to the ground, holding his chest.
My guys were doing the same, taking down the bad guys one by one. We were gaining ground, pushing Roman’s men back.
Suddenly, a door burst open and a group of Roman’s guys came running out, shooting their guns. I hid behind my crate, firing back at them as they tried to sneak up on us.
But I wasn’t worried. I had the Bratva and together, we were strong. We took down the new group of bad guys, our guns firing at the same time.
“Boss! Beside you!”, Lev shouted and I shot the person.
When the last one fell, I stood up, my gun still smoking. I looked around, taking in the scene. The hallway was filled with bodies, Roman’s men lying on the ground.
I nodded to my guys, and we moved forward, our guns still ready. We were getting close to Lily, I could feel it. And when we found her, Roman was going to pay.
“Let’s keep moving”, I said, my voice calm and steady. “We’re not done yet”.
My guys followed me, their faces set with determination.
As we moved forward, I could hear the sound of gunfire and shouting getting closer. We were getting near to the heart of the hideout and I knew that Roman’s men would be more heavily armed and more desperate to defend their leader.
I signaled to my men to fan out, to cover more ground and to be prepared for an ambush. We moved cautiously, our guns at the ready, as we turned a corner and entered a long corridor.
‘Just hold on a little longer my Kukolka’, I wished in my deepest of heart that she was safe.
The corridor was lined with doors and I knew that any one of them could be hiding Roman’s men. I motioned to my men to check each door, to make sure that we weren’t walking into a trap.
As we moved down the corridor, I could hear the sound of footsteps, heavy and deliberate. Someone was coming towards us and they weren’t trying to be quiet.
I raised my gun as a figure emerged from one of the doors. It was one of Roman’s men, a big guy with a scar across his cheek.
“Leonid”, I whispered to myself.
I recognized him to be Roman’s new right-hand man. He was armed to the teeth and he looked like he was ready to take on the world.
I didn’t hesitate. I fired my gun and he dodged it. I quickly took cover as he and other of Roman’s men fired their guns. My men moved forward, taking cover behind the doors and the walls, as we exchanged fire with the rest of Roman’s men.
“Ahhh! Fucking bastards!!!”, Leonid raged as he fired.
The corridor was a war zone, with bullets flying everywhere and the sound of gunfire echoing off the walls. I ducked behind a door, firing my gun and trying to get a glimpse of the enemy.
Roman’s men were getting lesser and I could see us winning this gun fight, but then, I heard a scream. It was a scream that made my heart stop.
“Lily!”, I shouted, I took off running towards the sound.
I didn’t care about the fight anymore. I just wanted to get to Lily. I yelled back to Lev, “Cover me!”.
I ran down the hallway, my gun still in my hand. I could hear people chasing me, but I didn’t look back. I kept going.
When I turned a corner, I saw a door that was a little bit open.
I pushed the door open and ran inside. It was a secret passage and I saw Roman’s silhouette, he had Lily on his shoulder.
“ROMAN!!”, I yelled, aiming the gun at him. He didn’t stop, but instead he increase his pace. I ran after him, I didn’t want to take a shot and risk hitting Lily.
I could see Lily’s hands tied behind her back and her mouth gagged.
‘How did she scream if her mouth was tied?’, I wondered.
My blood boiled even more.
I moved faster towards the direction he left. Roman’s men were nowhere to be found in this area.
I checked every nook and cranny, every room I saw and then I opened the last door and there I saw him.
Roman was standing next to her, with a mean look on his face.
“Look who’s here”, Roman said, sneering at me. “Nikolai, finally showing up to save his girlfriend”.
I scanned the room with my eyes, it was clearly the end of the road. It seems like there wasn’t any other escape route so he had to face me.
I didn’t waste any time. I pointed my gun at Roman and said, “Let her go”.
Roman just laughed. He pulled out a knife and held it to Lily’s throat. My heart stopped. I felt scared and worried. I knew I had to do something fast, or I might lose Lily forever.
“Wait!”, I shouted, holding the gun up and putting my other hand up too. I didn’t care if I had to surrender, I can’t imagine what I’ll do if Roman kills Lily.
I took a look at her face and I saw bruises and cuts, my jaw clenched and my fist tightened. She was unconscious and I think I died inside.
“Put the gun down”, Roman ordered and I quickly obeyed, “… now, kick it towards me”.
“Let Lily go first!”, I yelled.
Roman got angry and dived the knife deeper into Lily’s skin that I could see blood dripping.
“Okay okay! Stop!!”, I quickly kicked the gun to him, he picked it up and sniffed it.
“Tokarev TT-33… great choice little brother”, He smirked, then continued, “Too bad you’ll have to die by it!”, He said and immediately aimed the gun and me.
“NOOO!-“, I couldn’t react fast before I heard him pull the trigger.
