CHAPTER 110: MY TURN
ROMAN’S POV:
Yes, it’s my turn. My time to tell my side of my story. How my dear old brother turned everyone against me and made me look like the bad guy. My father, mother and little sister took his side and I’m known as the bad guy.
It isn’t as it is. I didn’t leave Nikolai for death at the frozen lake when we were young.
I could still remember the instant fear and chills that ran through my bones when my little brother was swallowed by the ice. The blood in my veins ran dry and I was sweating out of fear in such cold weather.
Fear that I didn’t know what to do. Scared of what my father would say and I know he’d scold me, telling me how I’m supposed to be responsible for Nikolai and Galina.
I was shaken to my bone as I yelled out to Nikolai. He was drowning and I was frozen at that spot.
I thought of running back to call for help at that mansion.
I ran, panting and determined but all of a sudden, I stopped. I weird thought running through my head.
‘What if he dies?’, Something in my head asked. I gasped and shook my head.
“No! He can’t die!”, I whispered.
‘But what if he does? Think about the freedom and privileges you’d enjoy’, It said again.
“NO! SHUT UP!”, I yelled at that voice in my head. I was panting because of the short run.
I turned and looked back at where Nikolai fell and I saw him still struggling. I started moving again and the voice came in again.
‘Suite yourself. If you save him, he would continue to be your parents golden child. Their favorite son and heir!’.
“YOU’RE LYING! STOP LYING!”, I yelled, covering both my ears to stop the voice, but it laughed at me and I felt stupid.
It was right.
Whatever or whoever that voice was, it was right. I might be a kid but I wasn’t a dummy. I know how my father loves my brother more than me.
Yes, he was smarter than I was and resembles my father but I was still the first son.
I clenched my jaw and tighten my fist.
‘If my brother dies, they would surely grief and scold me, but they would soon forget it and have to move on’, I thought to myself.
I faint grin appeared on my face. I went back to the lake and Nikolai was already giving up. He was sinking and I smiled to myself, it was hard to watch my brother die but it was for a greater future.
“I’m sorry but you have to die”, I said and smiled brighter.
“Good old days”, I chuckled by myself as I recalled the past.
I sighed and dropped the phone after the phone call with Nikolai about his precious little girlfriend. It wasn’t my initial plan to kidnap that girl but someone put me up to it. She says it’s the easiest way to break and lure Nikolai.
“What did he say?!”, She asked, excited to know the outcome of the call.
“You were right. He was shaken and lost his cool”, I responded.
“And about Olivia?! What did he say?”, She asked again.
I smirked and shook my head, replying, “Just as you thought. I told him to release Olivia and I’m sure he’ll be thinking she’s my accomplice and not you”.
“Hahaha. See! You should always listen to me as I’m always right… I know the kind of man Nikolai is and how to get to him”.
I stared at the beautiful and elegant woman in front of me. She was smiling brightly as she sat across from me and cross her leg.
“Tell me Elena… why are you doing all this? I thought you two broke up years ago and you don’t seem hurt about it?”, I asked Elena, Nikolai’s ex girlfriend and my accomplice.
She smiled and smirked her lips.
“Because… I can be very patient. It might take years to get my revenge but I will”, She explained and I have to admit, I admire her determination.
“Make me understand, what exactly did my brother do to you? Because from what I know, you were the one who hurt him”, I asked.
My little knowledge that I gathered about their past relationship, I know Elena was the sneaky one. She was the reason for the breakup and she was the one who hurt Nikolai, so why come to me for revenge?
“Remember that we’re only accomplices and not acquaintance, not even friends. We agreed upon no personal questions and information”, Elena blew hot and I grinned.
“You’re right… You scratch my back and I scratch yours”, I replied and she nodded.
She got up from where she sat, grabbed her purse and smiled.
“Call me when there’s any update. Ciao for now”, She said and catwalk out of the room.
I chuckled to myself, biting my bottom lips.
‘She’s got sexy legs’, I thought to myself.
‘Why the fuck is this motherfucker’s line turned off?!’, I thought to myself as I dialed Nikolai’s line.
I was at the location where Lily is held. I watched her struggle through the CCTV camera in another room. It amused me to see her suffer that way.
I dialed my dear brother’s number again and still the same.
“ARHHHHH!”, I yelled, pushing away the table in anger, “LEONID?!”, I called out to my right-hand man and he came in in less than a second.
“Yes master!”.
“Gather our men, the strongest… all of them even, tell then to head here immediately!”, I instructed and he nodded and left.
My head was in a jumble.
‘My brother is definitely up to something’, I couldn’t trust him. I know him too well to know how he would react, because his phone shouldn’t be turned off if his girlfriend is in my possession! He’s definitely plotting some type of attack! I need to be prepared!
‘But he doesn’t know the location of his girlfriend’, That voice that has been with me since I was little, said.
“Yeah… and I created a decoy with her phone in another city!”, I answered.
‘You’re just being paranoid’, It scolded.
“Yes, you’re right…”, I agreed, “but I still have to make sure”, I concluded and left the room, headed to where Lily is locked.
I told my men to open the door, I felt excited, I had been waiting to see Lily again. I walked slowly towards her and my men moved out of the way.
When I entered the room, Lily looked up and saw me. She was scared and I could see it in her eyes. She tried to take a step back, but she couldn’t look away from me.
“Happy to see me, are we”, I grinned at her. She couldn’t respond because her mouth was gagged.
I felt happy and powerful because she was afraid of me. I liked seeing the fear in her eyes, it made me feel in control.
I took another step closer to her and she looked even more scared. Then I took off her mouth gag.
“Fuck you!”, She yelled and spat on my face.
I smirked, wiping the saliva with my bare hands and licking my fingers clean. Her eyes grew in even more shock.
“Really delicious”, I commented.
I grinned even wider and bent to her length, I could see the fear clearly now. I immediately grabbed her jaw and forced her to look at me.
“Mhhmmmmm”, She struggled.
I let go of her jaw and my palm connected to her face. She landed on her stomach due to the force and started coughing.
“Haven’t you been taught to respect your elders?”, I asked.
I was pissed by what she did but at the same, I enjoyed it.
“You… you’re not h-human, you’re a… you’re a monster!”, She said.
I didn’t miss the blood she spat out.
I nodded and grabbed her hair.
“Ahhhh! let me go!!”, She cried.
I dragged her and made her sit.
“Do you have any tracking device on you… well apart from the one in your phone?”, I asked.
I needed to make sure Nikolai isn’t using that right now to take me unaware.
She frowned and looked at me.
“Tracking device? In my phone”, She sounded surprise and at the same time, I saw a glimmer of hope in her eyes.
“Oh! not to worry, I have gotten rid of it… far far away”, I said.
I saw the glint of hope on her face, fade.
I walked closer to her and with a more stern look and dangerous voice, I asked, “Now tell me where he’s keeping the tracking device on your body… or I’ll look for it myself”.
She shivered and started moving away as I took slow stride towards her.
“No no no! Don’t touch me! Pl-please don’t touch me!!”, She cried out loud and I filled the room with my laughter, still moving towards her.
