CHAPTER 108: YOU JUST WAIT!
NIKOLA’S POV:
“It was your brother sir. Roman”, The worker replied.
I felt like my whole world had been turned upside down. The worker’s words were like a punch to the gut.
I’m a man who’s not afraid of anything, I’ve faced many enemies and taken lives without hesitation. But when I heard that Roman took Lily, I felt something new: fear.
“Wh-what?”, I stated in disbelief. Not the fact that my brother broke in here but for the reason that My Kukolka was taken by him.
I felt like my soul was leaving my body. It was like I was floating outside of myself, watching everything happen in slow motion. I couldn’t think straight or process what was happening. All I could think about was Lily, and how she was gone.
I felt so helpless and scared.
Scared of losing Lily, scared of what Roman might do to her. I felt powerless, and that feeling made me angry. But the fear was still there, eating away at me.
My mind was racing with terrible thoughts and I couldn’t calm down. I felt like I was going crazy.
“WHERE DID HE TAKE HER?!?!”, I grabbed the butler by his shirt and demanded.
Frightened by my sudden outburst, he stammered, “I-I have no id-idea s… sir!”.
I sighed and let go of his shirt and for the first time, I said those words.
“I’m sorry”.
I don’t care to see the reactions from them even though I know they’d be shocked that I apologized.
I left them star struck and dashed out of the mansion and back into my car whose engine was still on. I immediately connected the Bluetooth and dialed Lev’s number. I called Ivan too in a group call.
“Roman has finally dug his grave”, I declared immediately the call connected.
“What do you mean bro?”, Ivan asked.
“What’s wrong boss?”, Lev asked almost immediately.
I tried to breathe in and calm myself and I drove through the highway with no destination at heart.
“THE FUCKING BASTARD BROKE INTO MY HOUSE AND ABDUCTED LILY!! MY LILY!!!”, I raged, punching the steering wheel.
“What?!?!”, “The fuck?!?”, They replied.
“I’m gonna kill him. I’m going to cut him limb by limb and feed it to my dogs!”, I vowed, drifting through the highway and earning cusses from drivers.
“You need to calm down and explain what happened”, Ivan asked.
“I CANNOT FUCKING CALM DOWN! THAT MOTHERFUCKER TOOK WHAT’S MINE!”.
I didn’t have time to explain to them every little details, my whole life was slowly crumbling as I couldn’t find Lily. I don’t even have an idea where he might have taken her.
“I know man, we need to meet and strategize a plan on how to find her!”, Ivan repeated.
“He’s right boss. I can tell you’re driving, that’s dangerous”, Lev concurred.
They were right.
I just escaped an accident right now. How can I find Lily if I’m in the hospital or… dead?
I sighed and nodded to myself, replying, “Okay… where do we meet?”.
“My house. We three should meet there”, Ivan suggested and I was okay with that.
“In the main time boss, send me Lily’s number so I could track her phone”, Lev said and I nodded. I didn’t even think about that.
“Will do that now”, I replied and sent him all the details he needed, while still driving.
“Got it”, He replied.
“Okay. See you soon”, I responded and disconnected the call. I was a bit relief and happy that Roman took Lily’s phone.
As I threw my phone onto the passenger seat, the darkness of the highway surrounded me. The only sounds were the engine humming and the wind blowing outside, but my mind was a mess. I was thinking about Lily and feeling scared. I couldn’t stop thinking about what might have happened to her. What if Roman hurt her? What if she’s alone and scared?
“Please no… please”, I tried to push those thoughts away, but they kept coming back.
I imagined her being frightened and helpless and it felt like my heart was being torn apart. I gripped the steering wheel tightly, trying to focus on the road. But my eyes kept looking back at the rearview mirror, hoping to see her sitting in the backseat, smiling at me. It was a stupid thing to do, but I couldn’t help it, I felt empty and alone, it was suffocating me.
“Just hang on a bit, I’ll get you”, I muttered to myself.
I had to get to her before it was too late. The thought of losing her was unbearable. I thought about all the things Roman might have done to her, and it made me angry. I wanted to hurt him, to make him pay for what he’d done.
As I drove, my mind kept wandering back to Lily. I thought about her smile, her laugh and her eyes. I thought about the way she made me feel, like I was the only person in the world. I thought about how much I love her and how much I needed her.
I knew I would do anything to get her back, to keep her safe. I would fight, I would kill, I would do whatever it took to make sure she was okay.
I will find Lily and I will bring her home. And when I do, Roman would pay for what he’d done. I would make sure of it.
“You just wait you asshole!”.
I stepped on the gas and zoomed off.
I got to Ivan’s house in no time. Lev was already there and Ivan was making some calls.
“Found anything?!”, I asked immediately I got in.
“Yes boss. I tracked the phone and it was found in two cities away”, Lev replied, showing me on his laptop.
I frowned and looked at it.
“What? Are you sure?”, I asked.
“Yes, I had some men go check out where it was found, turns out Roman had planned a decoy. He had the phone placed there on purpose and when our men got there, it was a bomb… Unfortunately, we had several casualty”, Ivan responded.
“Shit”, I cussed, “… and Lily? Any idea where Roman took her to?”, I asked.
Finding Lily was of the highest priority, other situations can come in second.
“No idea yet, still working on it”, Lev responded, working on his laptop.
I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration.
“CCTVs! Have you checked the CCTV from my mansion?”, I asked.
“Still trying to recover it”, Ivan uttered and I furrowed my brows.
“What do you mean by ‘recover’?”, I wanted to know what happened, something was definitely off.
“Turns out it was an inside job…”.
“I already guessed that”, I said to myself but was audible.
I figured that one of my men had betrayed me as my house was heavily guarded, so how could Roman get in without any bloodshed?
“As it’s an inside job, more than one person were involved. The CCTV footage from today was cleared”, Ivan, who’s the absolute best hacker, said.
“So, can you get it back?”, I inquired.
“They don’t call me ‘Ivan the great’ for nothing! Of course I can!”, He replied with a proud smug.
I rolled my eyes and they continued with what they were doing. Two other of my men were on the side, tracking and hacking.
“Found who betrayed me yet?”, I asked.
“Yes… the motherfucker was trying to flee the country, we caught him and he’s in warehouse 4”, Lev answered.
“Good”, I only said.
I’ll deal with him after I find Lily. He wouldn’t be of any use now and I’m sure he has no idea where Lily is held.
I was still watching them work when my phone beeped, I raised my brows and took my phone out of my pocket. It was a video message from an unknown number.
I frowned and opened it, I lost my whole sense as I saw who it was in the video. It was my Lily.
“LILY!!!”, I called out and everyone looked at me in shock.
“What is it?”.
“Is that Lily?”.
They asked but I couldn’t respond. It was as if my whole world came crashing down. In the video, Lily was tied up, her hands, legs and eyes were tied and all she did was to shout for help.
“HELP!! ANYONE?!? Please he… help me!”, She screamed.
“Lily?! Can you hear me?!”, I roared at the phone but she couldn’t hear me.
The video was from a set-up camera where she was held.
“HAHAHAHAAHAA!!”, I heard the tormenting laugh from Roman, “She can’t hear you brother!”
“ROMAN, YOU BASTARD!”
