CHAPTER 106: WHO IS HE?!
NIKOLAI’S POV:
“NOOOOO!! MAKE IT STOP!! AAAHHHHHH!!”, Olivia’s cries filled the empty room as I worked the small knife into her finger nails.
I took out the one on her small finger already, now working on the thumb. She tried to wiggle her way from my grip but her hands and legs were tied to the chair.
Her blood was dripping all over my floor but I was satisfied with the outcome of my art.
“Plea… please stop now. Please”, she continued to beg.
“You shouldn’t have provoked me! See what you made me do now… fuck!”, I cussed and threw the knife away.
“It hurts, it hurts…”, she muttered to herself.
“Well I’m just getting started. You will pay for everything you did to Lily…”, I walked to a table where weapons were placed, I picked up a hammer and continued to her, “For every moment she cried and everytime she felt lonely”.
“Ple… ase not anymore”, She whispered as her tears roll down her face.
I smirked and walked towards her, she got frightened and tried to move the chair backwards.
“There’s nowhere to run to… I’ll get you”, I caught up to her and grabbed her jaw, putting pressure on it and she struggled. I smiled widely as I saw the look of terror in her eyes. She feared me.
“Ahh ah”, She struggled to say something and I finally let go. She coughed and struggled to catch her breath.
I held her other hand out and raised the hammer to smash it.
“WAIT! I’M PREGNANT!”, She revealed and my hand hung on the air.
“Is this one of your many lies?”, I asked.
I dropped my hand to my side and stepped away from her. The last thing I’d want to happen is make a mother loose her child. I assessed Olivia from where I stood, tightening my teeth.
“No! I swear on my life! I’m t-two months gone an-and you can confirm if you want!”, She added.
‘Fuck!’, I muttered to myself and walked out of the room. I was pissed.
“Lev!”, I called out to him and he appeared almost immediately.
“Yes boss?”.
“Are you aware that bitch in there is carrying a child?”, I asked and I could see Lev’s brow furrow.
“No boss, but how did you know?”, Lev asked.
“Because that fucker told me!”.
“She could be lying”.
“I don’t think she is. She was really serious when she said it”.
I ran my fingers through my hair and paced back and forth.
“What do you suggest we do boss?”, Lev asked.
“Keep her locked up and get Nate to check her”, I said and headed back inside.
She shivered once she saw me. Her eyes were red from the tears.
“We shall end here today as you’re in luck”, I announced, heading to where she sat.
“Wha-what?”, She wavered.
“But if I find out you lied about the pregnancy, I promise to cut off your tongue…”, I threatened while staring closely into her eyes.
She didn’t flinch or shiver from my threat, but I saw a glimpse of fear in her eyes. She is terrified of me. Good.
I smirked and walked away.
“Keep an eye on her and don’t hurt her”, I instructed my men and left the warehouse with Lev, “Once Nate arrives, he should quickly run the tests on her and let me know immediately”, I said.
“Yes boss”, he replied.
We got into different cars and went separate ways.
I struggled with the seatbelt in frustration when my phone beeped, I sighed and checked who texted.
“Lily?”, I called out her name in surprise. She was the last person I expected a text from, especially after the fight we had.
‘Maybe she feels bad’, I thought to myself as the corner of my lip raised in a smile. I put on the seatbelt and opened the text.
[My darling Niko, I’d be out for a while, I went out with friends. I will be back late
Love you ?]
I frown immediately I read the content of the text. This isn’t Lily, this cannot be my Lily.
She has never called me Niko, she knows I hate it, and she doesn’t have friends who she hangs with!
I immediately called her but it wouldn’t connect, I tried again but still the same thing.
“Connect goddammit!”, I yelled and punched the steering.
I started the engine and zoomed out of the premises, driving through the woods and joining the highway.
I tried not to panic as I called home but no one answered the phone. I tried it once more but still the same.
“FUCK!!”, I cussed, throwing my phone to the passenger seat while driving like a maniac.
I got home in no time, after breaking several road rules. That didn’t bother me, I was more concerned with seeing Lily physically.
I got out of the car without caring to turn off the engine, I practically ran.
“LILY?!! LILYYY?!?!”, I called out but no response.
‘Maybe because the house is too big’, I said to myself.
I had to find Lily and make sure she was okay. But when I got to our room, I felt a wave of fear wash over me. The lock on the door was broken, and Lily was nowhere to be found. I rushed inside, my eyes scanning every inch of the room. I checked the bed, the desk, the chair – but she wasn’t there.
“Lily?! Please say something!”, I said, I flung open the bathroom door, but it was empty. I even checked the closet, pushing aside the clothes and shoes, but there was no sign of her.
I searched every corner of the room, my heart racing with every passing second. I looked under the bed, behind the curtains, even on top of the bookshelf, but Lily was nowhere to be found. The room was quiet and still, except for the sound of my own ragged breathing. I couldn’t breathe.
‘Where is Lily? What had happened to her?’, I felt a cold dread creeping up my spine as I realized I was completely alone in the room, with no sign of the person I loved most.
“Shit!”.
I tore out of our room, my mind racing with worst-case scenarios. I had to find Lily. I took the stairs two at a time, my heart pounding in my chest. I searched every room on the ground floor, calling out Lily’s name, but there was only silence.
I checked the living room, the dining room, even the storage rooms. But she was nowhere to be found. I was starting to lose hope. And then, I pushed open the kitchen door. What I saw made my blood run cold. All of my household workers were locked in the kitchen, their mouths and hands tied with rope. They looked up at me with terrified eyes, struggling to free themselves. I felt a wave of horror wash over me. What was going on? And where was Lily?
“Where’s Lily? Where’s she?!”, I roared. Obviously they couldn’t answer because their mouths were gagged.
I sighed and went to untie the butler.
“Where is my woman?!”, I held him by his collar and requested answers.
Frightened, he responded, “I-I’m sorry s-sir. I couldn’t… I co-couldn’t save her”.
I gritted my teeth and held his neck.
“WHAT. THE FUCK. HAPPENED HERE?!!?!”, I demanded.
“H-he took us… us unaware sir! I t-tried to fight back but… I’m sorry”, He still didn’t mention a name.
My mind went to one person in particular but I didn’t want to believe it without prove. I wanted someone to confirm it was really him who broke into my house, MY HOUSE!!
I pushed the butler away and paced around the room, running my fingers through my hair.
My heart was beating abnormally and it was a feeling that was utterly strange. I haven’t felt this amount of fear before, never!
The butler went to untie the other workers and some of them sustain some injury.
“When did it happen?”, I asked no one in particular.
“About two hours ago sir”, Another worker responded.
So the text was just to lure me back home. It didn’t happen now. It happened few minutes after I had left.
“He just came in with so much force and too many men”, The worker stated.
I turned and walked towards her and asked, “Who is He?”.
“It was your brother sir. Roman”.
