Chapter 375: Why Are You Apologizing?

When Bianca arrived at Blake’s ward, she could hear Paige crying, which made her anxious.
As Bianca stepped inside, Paige stood up and grabbed her hand.
“Bianca, you have to know where Blake is. He trusts you. He wouldn’t just disappear!” Paige’s voice trembled, and tears filled her eyes.
“Mrs. Lopez, please don’t panic. Tell me what happened,” Bianca said, trying to calm her down.
“Recently, Blake has been going to the garden to enjoy the sun. Today, he said he wanted some time alone outside.”
“I didn’t think much of it and let him go. But he never came back. I’ve looked everywhere in the hospital, but I can’t find him. With his condition, where could he have gone?” Paige’s voice grew more frantic as she explained. She gripped Bianca’s hand tightly, shaking with fear.
Trying to calm her, Bianca held her hand back. “Did he say anything strange or act differently before he left?”
Paige was too panicked to think clearly at first. Then, a memory surfaced.
“Yes,” she said, “he was staring at a photo this afternoon!”
“What photo?” Bianca asked, eager for any clue.
Paige struggled to recall. “He tried to hide it, but I saw part of it. It was a photo of the meteor shower.”
“Meteor shower…” Bianca’s eyes lit up. “I know where he went!”
She told Paige to stay in the ward and promised she would find Blake.
After driving for over an hour, Bianca finally arrived at the outdoor grill under the night sky.
At the top of the hill, where she and Blake had once watched the meteor shower, Bianca saw a figure sitting at the edge of the cliff, staring quietly at the stars. Nearby, an overturned wheelchair rested.
Bianca decided not to interrupt him. Instead, she quietly walked over and sat down beside him on the ground.
“Is there a meteor shower tonight?” Bianca asked casually, following Blake’s stares as it seemed to mirror the starry sky.
Blake stayed calm without showing any surprise at her question. “No, not really,” he answered quietly.
Curious, Bianca asked, “What brought you here?”
Lost in thought, Blake looked down before looking into her eyes. “I’ve been thinking about something,” he confessed.
Intrigued, Bianca asked further. “What’s on your mind?”
Blake’s eyes drifted to the stars, showing sadness in his expression. “I’ve been thinking about my place in this world,” he said quietly. “If all I do is cause trouble for others, maybe it’s better if I’m not here.”
“Don’t think that way, Blake,” Bianca said gently, her voice full of concern. “As long as there’s life, there’s always hope. Your dreams can come true.”
Bianca couldn’t shake the feeling that her recent busyness might have kept her away from Blake, possibly affecting his current state of mind. The thought made her feel anxious, especially as his words triggered a deep fear inside her.
Blake looked at her, a hint of curiosity in his gaze. “Really?”
Bianca nodded. “Yes. My wish earlier on a shooting star came true. My mom woke up.”
Blake’s eyes, which had seemed dull, suddenly lit up in surprise. “Really? Your mom woke up? When did that happen?”
“Just yesterday,” Bianca replied with a gentle smile. “A lot has happened lately. I’m sorry I haven’t been able to visit you.”
Blake felt a pang of guilt. He missed her every day and longed for her company.
She had promised to be there, but days had passed without any word.
He couldn’t bring himself to reach out, afraid of bothering Bianca, even though he desperately wanted to be with her.
He was scared of becoming a burden to her but still longed for her presence. This struggle had built up over time.
For some reason, he landed at the hilltop where they had once watched the meteor shower together.
Blake suddenly understood how busy Bianca really was. It wasn’t just work; her mom had woken up and needed her care, too. He felt bad for focusing so much on his own feelings. The guilt hit him hard.
“I’m sorry, Bianca,” Blake said, lowering his head like a child admitting a mistake.
Bianca smiled softly, thinking his apology wasn’t needed. She chuckled lightly and asked, “Why are you apologizing?”
“It’s my fault for making you worry and acting so childish,” Blake whispered.
Bianca patted his shoulder and reassured him, “Don’t blame yourself. You’ve been so strong. If I were in your place, I don’t think I could have handled things as well as you have. But promise me this-no matter what happens or where you want to go, you’ll always let me know. Never think you’re a burden. I promised to stand by you, and I’ll keep that promise.”
Tears filled Blake’s eyes.
Since the accident, he had become more sensitive and fragile. He was leaning on Bianca more than ever.
He wanted to walk again, but he was afraid she might leave if he did.
He longed for her to stay in his life forever. What could he do to make sure she would?
Blake looked at Bianca’s soft silhouette against the night sky, his heart aching.
Meanwhile, Bianca stared at the stars, mesmerized by their beauty.
“If only there were a meteor shower tonight,” she murmured to herself.
“What wishes would you make?” Blake asked.
Bianca sighed with a voice filled with longing. “I wish a shooting star could give me an invitation to the Evans Group’s event.”
“The Evans Group’s event? Why do you want to go there?” Blake asked, a puzzled look on his face.
Bianca nodded gently and explained that she needed the invitation to meet Phoenix Entertainment’s CEO at the Evans Group event.
“I have to get the invitation for my mother, no matter what,” she said firmly, standing up and looking determinedly at the sky.
Blake stayed seated, watching her silently.
Then, an idea hit him. “Hey, I might have a solution.”
Bianca looked at him, surprised.
Blake grinned and said, “Have you forgotten about Brady Lawson, the CEO of the Lawson Group?”
Bianca remembered, “The one who gave you his business card at Skylar’s engagement party and said he was your admirer?”
“Yeah,” Blake nodded. “That’s him. The Lawson family is powerful, almost as influential as the Evans family. I think his wife is also an Evans. Getting an invitation should be easy for him.”
Bianca suddenly felt a huge hope, and she nearly jumped with joy. “If only he could help! But…”
She paused for a moment, then asked, “Do you think he’ll agree to help me?”
“He told me I could ask him if I ever needed anything. It’s worth a try,” Blake replied softly, looking directly into Bianca’s eyes.
