Chapter 373: He Doesn’t Want To See You

Hearing Blake’s name brought a sharp pain to Bianca’s heart.
She looked at her mother for a moment but couldn’t bring herself to say that Blake had become disabled.
Madison had just woken up and couldn’t handle such news.
“Okay, Mom,” Bianca said softly after a moment.
Madison felt relieved that Bianca didn’t argue. She leaned back and closed her eyes, already feeling tired.
Soon, Madison fell asleep, and the room fell silent. Bianca and Leonel sat together in silence.
After a while, Leonel turned to Bianca and asked gently, “Why did you two break up?”
“We were incompatible, so we decided to go our separate ways,” Bianca answered. She didn’t want to say much more; just thinking about it brought her so much pain.
“Did he cheat on you?” Leonel asked, still angry about the argument he and Bianca had because of Dave.
Bianca was taken aback by the question and quickly scolded him, “Leonel, stop making assumptions. Dave is not like that!”
“Then why are you still defending him if you broke up?” Leonel sneered. “What did he do to you that you can’t forget him?”
“Those are two different things,” Bianca shot back. “Breaking up doesn’t mean he’s a bad person. I know who he is, but you don’t, so you have no right to judge him. Honestly, part of the breakup was my fault.”
Bianca truly believed that the main reason for her breakup with Dave was Blake.
She felt that Dave couldn’t accept that Blake was the reason she had refused to marry him.
The thought filled her with guilt and sadness.
Seeing her like this, Leonel scowled, “I really hope you know him well. Don’t let him play with you.”
Bianca didn’t respond, simply sitting there quietly.
After a moment, Leonel glanced at her and changed the subject. “Mom is awake now. How should I tell her about Cherish?” he asked, briefly looking at Madison.
His question immediately reminded Bianca of the issue.
When Phoenix Alliance Group took Cherish, the CEO promised her that once Madison regained consciousness, he would return the Cherish to her.
Now that Madison was awake, it was time for that promise to be fulfilled.
“I’ll go to Phoenix Alliance Group tomorrow,” Bianca said, her voice firm.
The next morning, Bianca headed to the Phoenix Alliance Group headquarters before Madison woke up.
Feeling more confident this time, she went straight to the front desk.
“Hello, I’m Bianca Scott from Emerald Artists Agency,” she said politely. “I met your CEO the last time I was here. Can you please let him know I have something important to discuss? Is he around?”
The receptionist remembered Bianca’s previous visit with the CEO. In fact, she and other staff members had talked privately, wondering who exactly Bianca was since the CEO had agreed to meet with her.
Bianca seemed to be someone important, so the receptionist made sure not to offend her. “Of course. Please wait a moment, and I’ll connect you to his chief secretary,” she said with a polite smile.
She quickly used her intercom to make an internal call.
Almost immediately, she got a response and relayed it to Bianca. “I’m sorry, Miss Scott, but the CEO is not in the office right now. Could you leave your contact information? We’ll get in touch with you when he returns.”
Bianca nodded and gave her number.
She turned to leave but then saw a group of bodyguards entering with a man.
Could it be the CEO of Phoenix Alliance Group?
Bianca paused to look, but the bodyguards were so tall she could only catch a glimpse of the man’s face.
But why did he look so much like Dave?
Curious to clear up her confusion, Bianca stepped forward to get a better look at his face, but she was too slow.
The group quickly entered the VIP elevator, and the doors closed right in front of her.
Who was that man?
Bianca kept wondering. It couldn’t be Dave. He had nothing to do with Phoenix Alliance Group.
Besides, the CEO she had met before was a serious-looking man, not the handsome one she had just seen.
If he wasn’t the CEO, who could be important enough to have such a big entourage at Phoenix Alliance Group?
And why did the side of his face look so much like Dave’s?
Still lost in thought, Bianca suddenly heard a familiar voice nearby.
“Bianca?”
She quickly turned around and saw Skylar standing a short distance away, dressed in a sharp business suit.
Skylar walked towards Bianca, glancing at the elevator doors where Dave had just disappeared.
A small smile appeared on her lips.
“Miss Larson, what are you doing here?” Bianca asked, raising an eyebrow, surprised to see Skylar.
Skylar’s smile widened. “I work here now.”
Bianca’s eyes widened in surprise, but then it made sense. After all, Skylar was engaged to the CEO of Phoenix Alliance Group, so she didn’t ask any more questions.
“What about you, Miss Scott? What brings you here today?” Skylar asked politely.
Bianca suddenly realized it might be easier to reach the CEO through Skylar, so she smiled and said, “I’m here to see the CEO, but the receptionist said he isn’t here, and I don’t know when he’ll be back. Miss Larson, if it’s not too much trouble, could you tell him I have something urgent to discuss?”
Skylar stared at Bianca, unable to hide a smile of disbelief.
This woman still didn’t realize that the CEO of Phoenix Alliance Group was Dave. How naive Bianca was!
“No problem,” Skylar said with a wink, pulling her phone out of her pocket.
At first, Bianca was just hoping for a favor since she wasn’t close to Skylar. But to her surprise, Skylar was actually being helpful.
“Thank you,” Bianca said, grateful.
Skylar smirked as she dialed a number on her phone.
When the call connected, she glanced at Bianca and said, “Mr. Evans, Miss Bianca Scott wants to see you. Are you free now?”
When he got Skylar’s call, Dave was already sitting in the meeting room, preparing for his next engagement.
At the mention of Bianca’s name, he frowned.
Skylar was clearly testing him, but he wouldn’t let her see what he was thinking.
“I’m busy,” he replied, then hung up the phone.
Skylar furrowed her brows, put her phone away, and turned to look at Bianca.
“Miss Larson, what did he say? Did he say when he can see me?” Bianca asked, anxiously wringing her hands.
Skylar put on a reluctant expression and said carefully, “I’m sorry. He said he doesn’t want to see you.”
