Chapter 790: Rose’s Disappearance

Book:A King Reborn in Shadows Published:2025-2-5

Ignatius Clark stared up at the descending foot, genuine fear flashing in his eyes for the first time. His face turned pale, and his heart and courage were shattered.
Flynn was really going to kill him!
This man was insane!
What had Flynn gone through these past ten years? How could he dare to defy the mighty Clark family?
“Ahhh-no, no! Don’t kill me! I swear to heaven, the Clark family will never trouble the Kaur family again!”
“I swear! If I break this oath, may I be struck by lightning!” Ignatius’s voice trembled with terror. Whether from pain or fear, his entire body shook uncontrollably.
Matteo Kaur, somehow finding strength, lunged forward and clung to Flynn’s leg, pleading, “Flynn, I’m begging you! Don’t kill Ignatius Clark, please! I’m begging you!”
“We can’t afford to provoke the Clark family!”
If Flynn killed Ignatius Clark, the Clark family would surely grind him to dust, subjecting him to inhuman torture before his death. Even if Flynn had become a Grandmaster through cultivation and had connections with wealthy figures thanks to the Ancient Formula, he was still far from capable of withstanding the Clark family’s retaliation.
The Clarks were the top aristocratic family in Slatin, unmatched by any in Shipmeda State. Moreover, it was rumored that Paxton Clark and Tessa Watson’s son was a monstrously talented cultivator, ten times stronger than Stellan Wallace. Flynn barely escaped Stellan Wallace’s wrath thanks to Lord Valerian Nox. If the Clark family’s prodigy came after him, who could he rely on then?
And if Ignatius Clark died here, the Clark family’s wrath might very well spill over onto the Kaur family. That was something Matteo could not bear. He would become the Kaur family’s greatest sinner.
“Uncle Matteo, what are you-” Flynn’s foot stopped just an inch above Ignatius Clark’s head.
Matteo Kaur had always been like family to Flynn, second only to his mother in terms of care and concern. Seeing Matteo beg him was something Flynn had never imagined and could not bear.
“I’m begging you, Flynn! Please, stop!”
Matteo Kaur clung tightly to Flynn’s leg, his face streaked with blood and tears, shaking his head desperately.
“Fine. I’ll spare his life so he can deliver a message to the Clark family. Tessa Watson’s birthday is in a month. I’ll send him off then. A family should stay together, after all.”
However, Ignatius Clark injured his Uncle Matteo. Flynn would return the favor in kind. Flynn brought his foot down on Ignatius Clark’s right ankle.
Crunch!
The sound of bones breaking echoed through the room. Ignatius Clark’s right foot was flattened.
“Ahhh! It hurts! It hurts so much-”
In just three minutes, Ignatius Clark’s hands and right foot were utterly destroyed, beyond any hope of repair. His agonized screams filled the air, unrelenting.
“Good! As long as you don’t kill him, it’s fine!” Matteo Kaur quickly turned to Ignatius Clark. “You need to leave! Take your people and go!”
He didn’t believe Flynn had the power to bring down the Clark family. Fearing Flynn might change his mind, Matteo Kaur screamed at Ignatius Clark to leave the Kaur family and return to Slatin.
Ignatius Clark didn’t need to be told twice. Limping, he scrambled toward the exit. The two bodyguards, who had been pretending to be dead, also got up, clutching their shattered jaws, and fled in a panic.
Looking at the blood-soaked room, Matteo Kaur collapsed to the floor.
“Uncle Matteo, let me check your injuries,” Flynn said, reaching out to help Matteo Kaur up.
“Get out!” Paulina Johnston shoved Flynn away, furious. “Haven’t you caused enough trouble for the Kaur family?”
“Get out of here! Leave!”
Max Kaur was equally enraged. “You’ve committed a grave sin, and instead of laying low, you’re planning to stir up more trouble with the Clark family in a month!”
“You’re clearly tired of living. If you want to die, do it alone! Don’t drag the Kaur family down with you!”
“If you truly care about Matteo Kaur, then cut all ties with the Kaur family and stay far away!”
Matteo Kaur lost half his life today, with his hands and ankle broken. It would take months for him to recover. Flynn’s heart ached as he watched, and his anger was mingling with sorrow.
Avenging his mother was his conviction.
Ensuring Uncle Matteo’s well-being was his goal.
But now, cutting all ties with the Kaur family was the only way to protect his Uncle Matteo.
“Fine. I’ll leave.”
“Uncle Matteo, take care. As long as no enemies come after you, I won’t set foot in the Kaur family again.” With that, Flynn strode out of the Kaur family estate.
“Flynn…” Matteo Kaur watched Flynn’s retreating figure, his heart heavy with sorrow.
Flynn acted violently to save him and Madeline Kaur. He couldn’t blame Flynn, but for the sake of the Kaur family’s safety, Matteo Kaur couldn’t defend him or ask him to stay. It pained him deeply.
Flynn headed straight to Scarlet’s place.
After the Sharp family cut ties with her due to her cold-hearted nature, Rose was now alone, but Kevin Sharp’s funeral still needed to be handled. Scarlet had suggested that, given Rose’s grief, the rest of them should take care of the details.
“Why is there blood on your pants?” Scarlet asked as she let Flynn in, immediately noticing the metallic scent of blood.
Seeing the frosty expression on his face, she knew something had happened.
“Ignatius Clark came to Niarak. He beat Uncle Matteo severely and tried to assault Madeline Kaur.”
“I crippled Ignatius Clark.”
“Don’t worry. Madeline Kaur is fine, and Uncle Matteo will recover in a few months.”
After saying this, Flynn headed straight to the bathroom.
Scarlet stood frozen, her eyes wide with shock.
In just two hours, such a massive incident had occurred at the Kaur family estate. It took her a while to process everything.
She had come to terms with Flynn’s quest for revenge. No one could dissuade him, and Scarlet decided to silently support his decisions, no matter what.
A moment later, Flynn emerged, drying his hair.
“I’ve already contacted the funeral home. Should we set up the memorial at the funeral parlor or at home? We need Rose’s input on that.”
“I’ve also picked out a burial site-on the mountainside, next to Tinley Stevens.”
“The Sharp’s Group executives, along with a few close friends, will attend the funeral.”
“The Pearce family, Edwin Gallagher, and the heads of the top ten aristocratic families in Niarak-seventeen of the Sharp’s Group’s business partners-have expressed their desire to pay their respects to Kevin Sharp.”
“Molly is with Ms. Sharp now. Once Ms. Sharp gives her approval, Molly and I will handle the arrangements.”
Scarlet helped Flynn dry his hair while updating him on the situation.
Just then, Molly called, her voice frantic. “Scarlet, Ms. Sharp has gone missing!”
“I’ve looked everywhere-her office, her home, even the partners’ places. Her phone is off!”
“It’s like Ms. Sharp has vanished into thin air! No one knows where she is! What do we do? What do we do?”
What?!
Flynn overheard Molly’s words, his heart sinking.
The medical competition had just concluded today. Would Lilia Hussain kidnap Rose?
The Sharp’s Group had made too many enemies recently-the Stewart family, the Swanson family, and Lilia Hussain’s faction all wanted Rose dead!
“Tell Molly not to panic. Keep searching, and you go help her.”
“I’ll head to Lilia Hussain’s place and ask her directly. If that woman kidnapped Rose, I’ll kill her today!” Flynn’s eyes burned with murderous intent as he threw on his coat and rushed out the door.
His heart pounded violently.
Even someone as formidable as Lord Valerian Nox, the feared King of the Underworld, felt a sense of dread. Flynn didn’t know why, but whenever Rose was in danger, he became frantic, even losing his rationality.
Especially now, when he had no idea where Rose was-or whether she was even alive.
Vroom!
Flynn’s Porsche sped through the streets of downtown Niarak, the aura of killing intent spreading from north to south, casting an icy chill over the entire city.
The Porsche screeched to a halt outside Lilia Hussain’s villa.
Boom!
The ten-ton villa gate was ripped from its hinges by Flynn’s kick, crashing to the ground and sending up a cloud of dust.
Flynn stood atop the fallen gate and roared,
“Lilia Hussain, get your ass out here!”
