“Save Georgina, please save her! I beg you!” Odin Hamilton cried out hysterically, his pleas hitting like bullets.
“For God’s sake, pull yourself together! I’ll come over right now. Tell me what happened!” Flynn immediately stood up, paid the bill, hailed a taxi, and headed straight to Niarak Hospital.
On the way, Flynn learned the whole story.
Georgina Holmes, Odin Hamilton’s wife, was deeply in love with him. Flynn even attended their wedding.
He helped Odin Hamilton teach the Holmes family a lesson.
Georgina was a virtuous woman and also the head of the R&D department at Grand Health, a small pharmaceutical company with just over a thousand employees but well-known for its highly effective drug, Nightshade Elixir, for treating gynecological diseases.
According to Odin Hamilton, a stranger had approached Georgina Holmes recently.
The person offered ten million dollars for Georgina to steal the formula for Nightshade Elixir, but she refused.
The next day, the car accident happened.
“Flynn, I feel like this has something to do with that stranger!” Odin Hamilton said.
“Georgina left for work in the morning. The truck driver seemed to deliberately crash into her from behind when she was crossing an intersection. The speed was exceptionally fast…”
Flynn’s face was filled with suspicion as he furrowed his brows and asked, “What did the driver say?”
“What else could he say? He claimed it was drowsy driving. He had been driving all night and was too tired.” Naturally, Odin Hamilton didn’t believe this explanation and spoke with resentment in his voice.
“Let me see what I can find out when I get there.” Flynn hung up the phone and a coldness spread across his face.
During his last visit to the Edge Facility, Major General Reginald Shaw of Kirin Special Operations Team had mentioned Jakub’s pharmaceutical company produced a highly effective drug, Celestial Orb.
Not long ago, an overseas force conspired with insiders and stole the formula for Celestial Orb.
Jakub couldn’t bear the blow and committed suicide.
Could the theft of the formula and Georgina Holmes’s car accident be the result of the same force at play?
And what about Uncle Matteo’s experience ten years ago? Was it connected to this force?
The taxi arrived at Niarak Hospital.
Flynn went straight to the intensive care unit on the third floor.
Both the Hamilton and Holmes families were there, crying uncontrollably.
Harriet was comforting Odin Hamilton with swollen eyes and tears streaming down her face.
Just as Flynn approached them, Georgina Holmes was pushed out of the room. She was covered in bandages and had a thick steel plate on her right leg.
Her face was swollen like a ball, connected to a breathing machine, unconscious.
“The patient has three broken ribs and a comminuted fracture in her right leg. It’s uncertain if she will be disabled or not. We’ll have to see how her recovery goes.”
“There is damage to her heart and lungs, cerebral edema, fractures in her jawbone, ruptured cornea in her right eye with an 80% chance of blindness, and…”
The attending physician took off his surgical cap and announced with a touch of pity as cries filled the air.
Georgina Holmes’s mother fainted.
“Damn it! Was that driver blind? Couldn’t he see the red light? He deserves to die! Damn him!”
“If Georgina is left disabled after such severe injuries, how will she live?”
“Oh God! Georgina is such a good girl. How could he do this to her…”
Both the Hamilton and Holmes families cried out in heart-wrenching agony, almost fainting from grief.
The Holmes family used to have strong objections towards Georgina Holmes before their wedding day when Flynn convinced them otherwise.
Afterwards, Georgina Holmes didn’t hold any grudges. She even sent many gifts to her uncles during holidays.
She didn’t take advantage of Odin Hamilton being Flynn’s friend to boss around the members of the Holmes family or retaliate against them for their past treatment of her.
This made the Holmes family very grateful and deeply concerned about Georgina Holmes.
And as for the Hamilton family, when Georgina Holmes had nothing, she chose to marry Odin Hamilton without hesitation.
Even though their wedding turned into chaos, Georgina Holmes still faced all the pressure and insisted on marrying only Odin Hamilton.
Just based on this alone, the Hamilton family treated Georgina Holmes like their own daughter.
Moreover, Georgina Holmes herself was virtuous and extremely filial towards Odin Hamilton’s parents. The couple had an incredibly loving relationship.
This earned even more admiration from the members of the Hamilton family.
Now that their daughter-in-law had suffered such severe injuries, everyone in the Hamilton family cried their hearts out.
Flynn approached and checked Georgina’s pulse. After a moment of silence, he said gravely, “The injuries are indeed severe but there is no immediate danger to her life. Let’s take her to the intensive care unit first.”
“After the anesthesia wears off completely, I’ll examine her.”
Everyone knew of Flynn’s abilities and felt relieved when they heard his words.
But this was an undeserved calamity after all.
If it were an accidental fall or a car crash into a tree, no one would be so furious.
She stopped at a red light when this happened. What had she done to deserve this?
“Flynn, will my sister-in-law be able to recover fully?” Harriet choked out through tears.
Odin Hamilton clenched his fists upon hearing this question.
Flynn patted Odin Hamilton on the shoulder and truthfully replied, “Yes, but it will take three years.”
Georgina Holmes’s injuries were too severe. Even with his intervention in treatment, it would still take one year for her recovery period due to extensive external injuries and shattered leg bones.
She wouldn’t be able to get pregnant within these three years as she needed to regulate her overall health condition as well.
Not to mention whether there would be any psychological trauma from such severe injuries or how painful the recovery process would be.
These were things he couldn’t hide from them.
“The truck sent Georgina flying seven or eight meters away. Her vehicle was completely destroyed. It’s clearly premeditated murder!” Odin Hamilton clutched his chest. His face turned pale from pain.
He loved Georgina Holmes too much!
Otherwise, with Odin Hamilton’s explosive temper and how much he clashed with the Holmes family before-they would have broken up long ago!
Flynn nodded in agreement and consoled him. “I know. Georgina Holmes is a good woman who deserves your devotion.”
“Just by being willing to marry you-a laborer who never went to college-even though she was a medical graduate shows that she truly loves you.”
“You need to calm down first. If something fishy is going on here, I will help you get justice.”
“Sit for a while. I’ll go find some paper and a pen at the nurse station so I can write down a prescription. Once you prepare it according to the instructions after Georgina Holmes comes out of anesthesia, it can help alleviate her pain.”
After speaking these words, Flynn went downstairs directly.
It was at this moment that a young man appeared in the hallway, wearing colorful clothes with a spiderweb tattoo on his neck. He swaggered over in their direction.
“Arthur Fils! You dare come here after turning my wife into that state!” Upon seeing him, Odin Hamilton flared up as he rushed towards him with murderous intent.
The person in question was none other than Arthur Fils-the driver responsible for causing the accident. Seeing Odin Hamilton charging at him with murderous intent didn’t faze him at all. He sneered coldly as he grabbed Odin Hamilton’s shoulder and effortlessly threw him several meters away.
