Ethan Langley strode into the hall with a commanding presence, declaring boldly to Rolando that he would take care of the troublemakers for the Gray and Langford families. However, the moment he entered, everything changed.
The so-called “troublemaker” turned out to be the Chief Instructor of the Blade Special Forces!
The revelation left everyone utterly shocked.
Just a month ago, Ethan Langley had only been a Semi-Grandmaster. Now, he had advanced to the peak of Grandmaster level. To achieve such a meteoric rise in such a short time, the person behind it couldn’t possibly be an ordinary Grandmaster. That kind of leap required someone at least at the Great Grandmaster level!
Maria glanced at Scarlet, her disbelief evident. Could her daughter have been telling the truth all along? Could Flynn really have been the one who killed the notorious King of Poison?
Unbelievable!
The King of Poison, a villain of the highest order and a master of toxic concoctions, was actually slain by Flynn?
But what happened next was even more astonishing.
Jiri Langley, bloodied and trembling, stammered, “Big brother, I… I didn’t know he-no, Mr. Clark-was your Chief Instructor. I thought…”
“You thought? You didn’t know?” Ethan Langley snapped, his fury unrelenting. He roared, “Let me tell you now-Mr. Clark is the specially appointed Chief Instructor of The Edge, the elite unit of the Blade Special Forces! Under his leadership, The Edge has achieved unparalleled success!”
“Just yesterday afternoon, General Adam Davies, the Supreme Commander of the Shipmeda State Military District, was personally informed of The Edge’s achievements.”
“He praised Mr. Clark for his outstanding contributions and even announced that he would be coming to Niarak in person to thank him. Do you realize now who you’ve offended?”
The room erupted into chaos.
General Adam Davies, the Commander of the Shipmeda State Military District, was going to personally thank Flynn?
What an incredible honor!
Suddenly, everything made sense.
No wonder Flynn carried himself with such confidence. No wonder he didn’t even spare Nick a glance. Flynn wasn’t an ordinary man-he was a dragon soaring above them all!
A dragon that had earned the admiration of General Davies himself!
Peyton stood frozen, her mouth agape. She had spent the entire day looking down on Flynn, dismissing him as someone with a bit of skill but poor temperament-arrogant, aloof, and reckless. She thought he was just another rich fool who thought money could solve anything.
Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine that Flynn wasn’t just wealthy-he was terrifyingly powerful. The Chief Instructor of The Edge, Ethan Langley’s mentor, a Great Grandmaster, and someone personally praised by General Davies, who was even coming to thank him in person.
The man she had idolized, Ethan Langley, owed everything he had achieved to the very person she had scorned. The realization hit her like a slap in the face.
Her gaze involuntarily shifted to Rolando, whose brow was deeply furrowed.
With Flynn now backed by General Davies, the Gray and Langford families would find it nearly impossible to touch him.
Even Nick Gray, despite his position as Deputy Provincial Official, would have to bow to General Davies’ authority.
And even without military connections, how could Nick hope to subdue a Great Grandmaster with a handful of officers? The idea was laughable.
Peyton, having attended the Wallace family’s banquets, understood the terrifying power of a Great Grandmaster. Such a person could split rivers and shatter mountains with ease.
“Big brother, I was wrong,” Jiri Langley finally admitted, his shock giving way to complete submission.
The fact that Flynn had elevated Ethan Langley to the peak of Grandmaster level was proof enough that Jiri was no match for him.
“Wrong? And who are you apologizing to?” Ethan Langley glared at his brother, his rage undiminished.
Jiri trembled violently. He tried to stand, but the slap from his brother earlier had left him dazed. Crawling forward, he knelt before Flynn, bowing his head.
“Mr. Clark, I was wrong. I’m sorry…”
The crowd was stunned.
Jiri Langley, the infamous tyrant of Pelens, was apologizing to Flynn?
This was a man who wouldn’t even flinch if you chopped off one of his fingers!
Ethan Langley bowed as well. “Chief Instructor, thank you for your mercy. I apologize on behalf of my brother.”
Flynn ignored the shocked expressions around him and paid no attention to the kneeling Jiri Langley. Instead, he glanced coldly at Ethan Langley.
“What is The Edge?” Flynn asked.
Ethan froze, unsure of Flynn’s intent, but quickly straightened his posture and replied, “Chief Instructor, The Edge is the elite force of the Blade Special Forces, representing the highest honor of the Shipmeda State Military District!”
Flynn sneered. “You know what The Edge is, and yet, as a squad leader trained personally by me, you use your leave to meddle in petty disputes for your friends?”
“Chief Instructor, I was wrong!” Ethan Langley’s body stiffened, cold sweat dripping down his back.
Ever since Flynn arrived at The Edge and shattered Sullivan Cox with a single slap, Ethan had been awestruck by his power.
His reverence for Flynn only grew after witnessing the overwhelming might of a Greater Sovereign during training at the facility. Flynn had become a godlike figure in his eyes.
“Your actions today are enough to strip you of your rank as Lieutenant Colonel,” Flynn said coldly. “But with the military competition around the corner, I’ll give you one last chance.”
“If you know you were wrong, get back to training. Add three extra hours to your daily regimen!”
“Yes, Chief Instructor!” Ethan Langley responded without hesitation. Saluting sharply, he turned and left immediately.
Having seen Flynn’s power firsthand, Ethan dared not protest. Even if Flynn had expelled him from The Edge, Ethan wouldn’t have dared utter a word of complaint.
Flynn was not just his benefactor but also the savior of the entire Langley family. Without Flynn, Ethan might never have reached the pinnacle of Grandmaster in his lifetime.
As Jiri Langley stumbled past Rolando, the gust of air from his movement felt like a sharp blade slicing Rolando’s face, making his muscles twitch uncontrollably.
“And you-get lost!” Flynn barked at Jiri Langley.
To be fair, Jiri Langley had better potential and talent than his brother. But his lack of discipline held him back. What a waste.
Flynn couldn’t help but feel a trace of pity for him.
“Thank you, Mr. Clark! Thank you!” Jiri stammered, fleeing in terror.
A Great Grandmaster!
If Flynn had used his full strength earlier, Jiri knew he would already be in a coffin.
As soon as the Langley brothers left, the courtyard erupted with chatter.
“Eduardo, you’ve got yourself an incredible son-in-law! Congratulations!”
“A Great Grandmaster at such a young age-unbelievable. How many have achieved that in their twenties? Less than ten, I’d wager.”
“Rich, powerful, and talented-the Wong family has truly struck gold!”
The onlookers, quick to change their tune, now fawned over Eduardo, showering him with praise.
Eduardo couldn’t stop smiling, his teeth on full display. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine his daughter’s choice of husband would turn out to be so extraordinary.
Inside the hall, members of the Gray, Langford, and Wong families stood frozen in stunned silence.
Even Maria, who had maintained a cold demeanor for decades, now gazed at Flynn with an unprecedented light in her eyes.
Who could have guessed that the man they had worked so hard to drive away was, in fact, a dragon destined to soar?
