The kiss was slow and passionate. Javier was sucking on her lower lip while dipping his tongue into her mouth, savoring every corner of her mouth.

Natalie froze in place at Javier’s courage and she found herself lost in the kiss. She slowly melted into the kiss, as it was her first time. Yes! Of course. Everything felt so raw and new, with her heart pounding so hard, she thought it might explode any minutes.

She couldn’t believe that the cold-hearted billionaire would dare to kiss her, not after taunting her of how her breath stinks at the engagement party, just to avoid kissing her. It was still hard to believe. Just when her lips wanted to reciprocate the kiss, Javier pulled away flashing her a smile.

Natalie wished the ground would open up and swallow her, she couldn’t stop her cheek from heating up and quickly lowered her head.

“Start going home.” Javier leaned closer again and whispered into her ears.

Natalie found her head nodding on its own because her head kept replaying the kiss all over again. ‘What a finished woman!’ She mentally scolded herself.

Javier’s lips tugged into a smirk because he knew his plan had worked. Seeing Natalie shying away her face proves she isn’t thinking about her burnt shop again.

He turned to face Elvis and Kate, whose jaws dropped in shock, they couldn’t believe the scene that just unfolded in front of their eyes.

Kate gulped down the saliva on her throat and tilted her head to the other side. Avoiding Javier’s gaze as she walked past them, dragging Natalia by the hand and leading her out of the club.

A soft chuckle escaped Elvis’s lips. He shook his head, “Kate is such a drama queen!”

Javier’s smirk only grew widened as he watched Kate and Natalie disappear out of the door. He gazes in Shakira’s direction, who is finding all the means to escape the seat he was sitting on because of Javier’s hot glare that was making him uncomfortable.

However, he summoned up courage and stood up to leave, Javier was quick to grab hold of his arms and pull him back.

“Mr-Mr Javier, I have never crossed your-Your path.” He nervously muttered, lowering his gaze to the floor.

“Well, you were about to cross my path.” Javier angrily snapped and released his arms. Then went on to drag him closer holding the neckline of the gown Shakira was wearing. “Don’t you ever spill anything thing Zino, else…”

“I-I promise, I won’t say a word.” Shakira plea desperately, because he knew what Javier was capable of. He knew better and instantly vowed to stay off Javier’s business.

Javier slowly released him, and without hesitation, Shakira ran away like he was being chased.

Elvis couldn’t hold on to the laughter that was cracking up his ribs. Within a second he burst into laughter leaning on Javier for support, who slightly pushed his hands away.

“Nothing is funny here.” He rolled his eyes, sitting on the seat Natalie sat before.

“Come on, it’s so funny how you hastily ran here the moment I texted you,” Elvis said, taking his seat opposite Javier. He suddenly leaned over, “Were you so scared that she would find out the truth?” He whispered, waggling his eyebrows in his playful manner.

Javier sighed, his shoulders dropping. “Honestly I don’t know what this is. But I don’t want her to find out the truth.” Javier responded in all honesty.

“Bro, you are in love!” Elvis giggled like a child, he couldn’t ease the memory of the kiss from his mind.

“Are you being serious right now?” Javier’s eyebrows furrowed.

“You just kissed her, bro!” Elvis pressed on.

“That doesn’t mean anything!” Javier shrugged, slightly spreading his arms.

“But you enjoyed it.” Elvis further teased, leaning towards Javier, as he slightly hit his thighs.

Javier scoffed, “I only did that to stop her from arguing with me.” He pointed out. Even when he knew he felt some new spark in his chest, for the very first time in years, and felt a strange butterfly in his stomach giggling excitedly.

Elvis continued to wag his eyebrows teasing, he couldn’t stop his teasing. Javier was already fed and stood up from his seat, digging his hand in his pant pocket.

“Where are you going?” Elvis straightened up his face and asked.

“I’m going upstairs to have a drink in the VIP,” Javier responded, his gaze darting around the club. He was pleased that all gazes were not glued on him, and they were so focused on enjoying themselves, dancing, and drinking.

He quickly led the way, while Elvis hastily stood up and ran after him as they walked through the crowd.

“You never told me, you were such a good son-in-law.” Elvis softly tapped Elvis’s shoulder, while they walked up the stairs.

Javier tiredly rolled his eyes, “Not again, Elvis.” He angrily snapped, “Cut me some slack.”

Elvis scoffed loudly, “I don’t know why you are becoming secretive, ever since you got married.” He brushed his shoulder against Javier and led the way instead as he pushed the VIP door open.

Javier almost burst into laughter, as he was thankful that Elvis managed to get mad over his words, at least now, he can have some space to think straight.

‘Are my growing feelings for her?’ His mind reeled. He shook he heard afterward, muttering, “Not possible!”

They both sat crossed each other. Elvis wasn’t mad by Javier’s outburst, because he had grown up with him and he knew exactly how Javier behaved when being teased a lot.
So…these aren’t new to him. However, he decided to stay on his own not because he didn’t want to talk to him, but because he wanted to give Javier space to think.

‘I wish these two will be together and be happy forever. They both deserve each other.’ Elvis silently prayed in his heart.

Javier was also lost in his thoughts. Everything came crashing into his head the moment he was calm. He was confused by his sudden change of behavior after the marriage contract.
No doubt he was beginning to find himself being attracted to her and always felt the urge to prove to her that he was not all cold and arrogant.

Firstly, he didn’t know what had come over him to call Dr. Douglas to start her mother’s surgery, after the engagement party. Funnily, he was present still when the surgery was done and he was the one who took her back to her ward to receive further treatment.

And now, he kissed her! When he knew he had so many ways of shutting her up like; dragging her away or slapping her shut, instead he kissed her.

Javier dug his fingers into his hair and ruffled them in frustration. Now, he had hoped she didn’t get the wrong idea about the kiss. The most challenging part was how he was going to face her, back at home. He was never a fan of awkward moments, and right now, it feels like he can’t escape this one.

“Your order, Sir?” The male waiter asked, holding his tablet in his hand to inscribe whatever they wanted to order.

Javier and Elvis both raised their gaze at the same time, staring at the male waiter.

Elvis’s gazes wandered around the VIP room, for a while before averting his eyes back to the waiter, flashing him a warm smile, “Two bottles of vodka, please.” He muttered.

The waiter nodded, quickly inscribed it down on his tablet, and walked away.

Both friends never uttered a word to each other, but they couldn’t help but steal glances at each other. However, no one wanted to make the first move.

Within a minute the waiter came back with two bottles of Vodka and placed it on the table with two glasses. But he found Javier and Elvis engrossed in their cell phones.

The moment the waiter noticed they all had their attention glued on their phone. He sneakily opened one of the vodka, which he had opened before, but Elvis and Javier didn’t notice anything as they urged him to pour the drink into the glasses.
