The Wedding

Book:Her Glamorous Beauty Published:2025-2-5

Seeing the woman he loved being sexually harassed by Brandon, Kwan couldn’t stop his tears from streaming down his eyes. If only he could escape from the bind, he would do everything to have a peaceful life with Rebecca; they would go far away where Brandon couldn’t find them. All he was wishing for was to have a happy family with her, one that was away from danger.
“Why are you crying there, huh?” Brandon asked, seeing Kwan with teary eyes. “You don’t like what I am doing with your girl? You’re making me do it more.” He laughed out loud as if he were possessed by a demon while rubbing Rebecca’s breasts and legs.
Rebecca closed her eyes. Her face turned red, feeling embarrassed and sexually aroused at the same time. She wanted to end this soon, or else she couldn’t hold herself back. She thought of how weak she was, as she couldn’t even help herself from being harassed in front of her fiance.
“Just what do you want?” Kwan was pissed off, his face turned red in anger. “We’ll give you anything; just set us free. We just want to have a peaceful life! Set us free and you won’t see us again.”
Brandon laughed even more as he enjoyed listening to his enemy’s plea. Meanwhile, Denisse watched them from his swivelled chair, smoking a stick of cigarettes as if he didn’t care whatever was going on because he knew it was none of his business anymore.
“If you only begged me for that before, maybe you’re not suffering right now, but it’s already too late, Kwan. I don’t want anything else than to see you dead. All of you!” Brandon exclaimed as he pushed Kwan’s head with two fingers. There was so much hatred in his heart that had accumulated over these years.
“You have lost your mind, Brein. Even if you kill us, you will also die in the end. We’re all dying together! Remember that! You’re only making your punishment worse!” Rebecca screamed.
“Then see you in hell, my clever Rebecca,” Brandon said as he finally pulled the trigger of the revolver gun that was pointing on her chest. A crack ended Rebecca’s life.
“Beeeccang!” Kwan screamed, seeing blood streaming down on Rebecca’s chest. He felt like he had no reason to live now, so he accepted defeat. “Just kill me!”
“Your wish is my command,” Brandon’s lips curved into a sinister smile before he ended Kwan’s life.
“Good job!” Denisse stood up, clapping his hands as he walked towards Brandon. He gave him a tap on the shoulder and said, “Congratulations, my dear cousin. I think it’s time for me to go.”
“Wait!” Brandon stopped him. “Aren’t you going to celebrate with me? I want to thank you for your help, and I can’t just leave them like this. I have to dispose their corpses.”
“Do whatever you want, but my girlfriend is waiting for me to come home,” Denisse replied. He didn’t wait for Brandon’s reply as he continued outside the mansion. One of his men opened the door of his Mercedes Benz and drove him back to Marseille.
“That moron!” Brandon exclaimed. “How could he leave me like this? I thought he was an ally.”
A few moments later, the deafening sounds of police cars could be heard outside his mansion. The cops had already surrounded the place and asked him to cooperate properly, or else they wouldn’t hesitate to shoot.
Brandon had no choice but to surrender since he was out of men who were willing to fight for him. He was arrested, found guilty, and sentenced to a lifetime of imprisonment.
“I will hunt you! All of you! I won’t give you peace!” Brandon screamed as the cops dragged him inside the jail.
Kwan, Rebecca, Lucille, Bernadette, and those men who attended Elfedio’s burial were all alive, as they had set up everything just to catch their enemy. Denisse noticed that something was wrong, so he hurriedly escaped, leaving Brandon to all the mess he had done.
Rebecca was thankful to Patrick for his cooperation. They have successfully pretended to be dead in order to catch Brandon, giving him the chance to enjoy his last day.
Now that Brandon was gone, Kwan could finally marry Rebecca, as what Elfedio wanted to happen, so they immediately arranged the wedding.
On the day of his wedding, Kwan was wearing a dashing tuxedo, complete with black slacks and black shoes. His heart swelled with joy seeing Rebecca walking down the aisle in her stunning wedding dress. When she reached the altar, he affectionately kissed her forehead, whispering how much he loved her.
“Rebecca, I promise to spend the rest of my life with you. I will always protect you like how my best friend sacrificed herself, like how your father defended you, and like your mom’s willingness to catch the bullet for you,” Kwan said.
“Are you serious with your words?” Rebecca asked.
“Yes, of course. Until death do us part,” Kwan replied with a smile on his face. “You’ll always be my one and only love.”
“Thank you, Kwan. Thank you for staying by my side through highs and lows. Thank you for being my husband.” Rebecca couldn’t hold her tears back.
Seeing the woman he loved cry, Kwan Moldrick also burst into tears. He wiped the tears from her face and said, “I should be the one to thank you, Rebecca. Thank you for opening my heart and loving me when I was heartless and unlovable. You are the only one who sees me as I am but still loves me. I don’t know how to thank you for everything you’ve done, but since the day I met you, everything has changed. You’ve inspired me to become the best version of myself.”
“Don’t be so dramatic now, Kwan. We’re in the middle of the-” Rebecca wasn’t able to finish her sentence when Kwan held her face and kissed her.
The kiss lasted for a minute. People gave a round of applause and shouted congratulations as Kwan carried Rebecca and turned around. Even the priests were amazed by how these two people loved each other that they couldn’t even question if they’d be willing to spend the rest of their lives together because they were already doing it.
“Catch!” Rebecca threw a bouquet of flowers.
Lucille caught the bouquet and was lost in her thoughts again, thinking that she could finally get married, perhaps with the man standing next to her, Patrick Salvatore.
Everyone smiled and laughed as Patrick took a picture of them. It was like seeing the sun up in the blue sky again after many cloudy days. So the quote was true that there will always be a rainbow after the rain if people don’t give up amidst the challenges in life.
Nine months later, Rebecca finally gave birth to a girl. They named her Sharon. Kwan promised her that he would raise their daughter well so that she wouldn’t experience what they had experienced.
“I’m sorry, Kwan, but she’s not your daughter; she belonged to Brandon,” Rebecca finally admitted. She had been hiding the truth from him for almost a year now, and she knew he couldn’t accept the truth easily.
Rebecca thought that Kwan would probably hate her after knowing that she had been lying to him all this time. Perhaps he wouldn’t accept the child, but Kwan didn’t even think about it. Kwan held the girl in his own hands with so much care, just to show Rebecca that she didn’t waste any days of carrying her in her womb.
“We have promised to forget the past, Rebecca. But we’re not here right now if it’s not because of it. Don’t worry, I have moved on already, and I just want to have a peaceful and happy life with you now, and with this girl. I know that man forced you, and I felt sorry for all the difficulties you have gone through, if I was only quick to save you early. I still don’t have the right to hate you,” Kwan said.
“You’re so kind, Kwan. I’m so glad you’re my husband,” Rebecca cried out of joy. “I’m sorry for not telling you this earlier. I’m sorry for being lying to you all this time.”
“I’ve already forgiven you, Rebecca. Let’s just forget everything about the past now and treat this girl like she belonged to us,” Kwan said.
“Thank you so much, Kwan. I really love you.” Rebecca hugged him, knowing that even if it was against his will to accept the child, he still did just to make her happy.
And so that was it. Kwan treats Sharon like his own daughter. He gave her all her needs, sent her to school, and taught her some fighting skills so that she could protect herself if someone would hurt her. Kwan learned a lot from their experiences, and he wanted to tell those stories to his daughter someday.
