Chapter 2612: No Smoke Without Fire

“Don’t you want to save her? I want to see how you do it!” Kenyon Fritz said as he walked towards the two elders.
“Young master, are you alright?” asked one of the white-haired elders.
“I’m fine!” Kenyon Fritz shook his head and pointed at Billy, speaking in a deep voice, “He killed our elders. First, destroy his physical body, then hand his soul over to me!”
“Alright!” The white-haired elder nodded.
“Stout, you two wait for me down there,” Billy said as he ascended into the air.
He then looked at the two elders, “Are you sure you want to make a move?”
As he spoke, he roughly assessed the cultivation levels of the two elders. Both were at the eighth-rank Entering Empyrean Realm!
“Daring to kill someone from my Phoenix Clan, you have guts!” The white-haired elder glanced at Billy.
“If you want them to make a move, your life might be in danger too. Think it through…” Billy turned to Kenyon Fritz and asked.
“Boy, prepare to die!” Before Billy could finish his sentence, the white-haired elder had already made his move.
Although he detected that Billy was only at the sixth-rank Extinguishing God Realm, he did not underestimate him and used his full strength right away.
Slash!
After a flash of the Slaughter Heaven blade light, the white-haired elder’s body fell from mid-air onto the street below, with his soul flying up into the sky.
“Oh my?!” Kenyon Fritz and the other elder were shocked.
An eighth-rank Entering Empyrean Realm elder was killed in one strike?
What kind of monster was this?!
Not only were they shocked, but Taryn Escobar below also had a look of disbelief on her face.
Meanwhile, Stout ran over to the white-haired elder’s corpse, took his storage ring, and looked inside, his eyes lighting up.
He then looked up and shouted, “Boss, their storage rings are full of treasures. Let’s kill the other two as well!”
“Young master, let’s go!” The other elder shouted from mid-air.
As he spoke, he attacked Billy with full strength, causing the void to twist and strong winds to blow.
Kenyon Fritz didn’t try to show off anymore. He quickly moved back and tore open a rift in the void before disappearing into it.
Almost at the same time he entered the rift, the other elder was also cut in half by Billy’s blade.
Then, without any hesitation, the two souls fled backward.
Of course, they were clearly overthinking it. Such high-level nourishment would not be let go by Dark Puppet.
In no time, Dark Puppet had devoured them and returned to Billy.
Actually, if Billy really wanted to kill Kenyon Fritz, he wouldn’t have been able to escape. Billy clearly let him go on purpose.
For Billy, it wasn’t yet clear what the situation in Avici Hell was. Killing the young master of Phoenix Clan now would be premature!
“Thank you for saving my life!” Taryn Escobar bowed after Billy returned to the street.
“It was nothing,” Billy smiled lightly. “Has your sister returned?”
“Do you really know my sister?” Taryn Escobar asked. “Why have I never heard her mention you?”
“We just met recently,” Billy smiled again. “Can you show us around the underground city?”
“Let’s go,” Taryn Escobar responded and led them into the air.
Before long, they arrived at a mountainside near the city.
Billy and his companion looked around and saw several neatly constructed stone caves at the foot of the mountain. Outside the caves, there were slight ripples, indicating some kind of barrier.
“Miss Taryn, what are these?” Stout pointed at the stone caves and asked.
“They are teleportation channels to Avici Hell,” Taryn Escobar replied.
She then led Billy and his companion into one of the stone caves.
Soon, they emerged from the teleportation channel into another world with mountains, water, and a city.
The city was vast and seemed endless, comparable to the Boundless Ruins they had seen earlier.
Originally, Billy thought that since Avici Hell was beneath the previous city, it should be an underground city.
But upon arriving here, he realized that this was not an underground city at all.
Although the sky here was relatively dim compared to the city above, it was still a sky. If it were an underground city, there wouldn’t be a sky.
“Miss Taryn, isn’t Avici Hell underground?” Stout asked in surprise.
“It is,” Taryn Escobar replied. “But this is also considered another world, so it doesn’t feel like it’s underground.”
“Alright,” Stout shrugged in response.
“Miss Taryn, does the Fountain of Eternal Life really exist?” Stout asked as they walked into the city.
“To my knowledge, it doesn’t exist,” Taryn Escobar shook her head. “It’s just a rumor fabricated by Phoenix Clan to take over our Bonded Clan.”
“The Bonded Clan has already investigated the rumored Obsidian Gem mine. There’s nothing there. Where would a Fountain of Eternal Life come from?”
“Really?” Stout asked again.
“Of course it’s true. I personally went to check out the mine. There’s no way there’s a Fountain of Eternal Life,” Taryn Escobar said.
“So what’s the current situation in Avici Hell?” Stout asked again.
“Our Bonded Clan has publicly stated that the rumors are baseless and even opened up the mine for other forces to investigate,” Taryn Escobar replied.
“And then?” Stout pressed on.
“Then there were rumors that our Bonded Clan had already obtained the Fountain of Eternal Life and that’s why we opened up the mine,” Taryn Escobar said.
“It’s obvious that Phoenix Clan is behind this. They want to use external forces to take down our Bonded Clan!”
“So now they’re united in demanding that you hand over the Fountain of Eternal Life?” Stout continued.
“Yes,” Taryn Escobar nodded. “Because of this, our Bonded Clan has had several conflicts with them…”
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Before she could finish speaking, dozens of people approached from ahead with hostile expressions.
“She’s the second miss of Bonded Clan. Capture her and make Bonded Clan hand over the Fountain of Eternal Life!” a woman shouted while pointing at Taryn Escobar.
“Alright!” dozens of people responded simultaneously.
“Miss Taryn, will you come with us willingly or do we have to use force?” a man asked as they approached.
“A bunch of idiots!” Taryn Escobar glanced at their group.
“I’ve told you many times that there is no Fountain of Eternal Life. You’ve all been deceived by Phoenix Clan. Why don’t you believe it?”
“No smoke without fire,” the man continued. “The Fountain of Eternal Life was confirmed to exist thousands of years ago. Stop trying to deny it…”
“Excuse me, sir, I don’t quite understand,” Stout interrupted him.
“Even if we assume that the Fountain of Eternal Life exists, it was discovered on Bonded Clan’s territory. Why should it be given to you?”
“What a joke!” The man sneered. “The Fountain of Eternal Life is a gift from heaven to this universe. Why would it belong to Bonded Clan?”
“Exactly! It belongs to all living beings in this universe, not just Bonded Clan!”
“Hand over the Fountain of Eternal Life or face extinction!”
“Hand over the Fountain of Eternal Life!”
“…”
The crowd shouted incessantly.
