Chapter 2520: Not Priced by Purple Gem

“There are two possibilities!” Harleen responded on behalf of Billy.
“First, they might have other intentions and want to achieve their goal through this auction.”
“Second, it could be that the sixth volume of the Heaven Book cannot be used alone. It might be useless to them and could bring trouble, so they might as well sell it.”
“That makes sense!” Stout nodded and looked at Billy again. “Boss, do you think people from the Hellgate Sect will be here today?”
“Not sure!” Billy shook his head thoughtfully.
In the blink of an eye, two quarters passed, and the number of people in the tiered seats increased to nearly two hundred, with half of the private rooms occupied.
Soon, an old man in a black robe walked onto the stage, followed by two Cheongsam ladies.
The old man didn’t waste much time and briefly explained the auction’s process and rules before moving on to the main event.
Billy and his companions were not interested in the initial items, so they did not bid.
“Fellow Daoists, next up for auction are ten low-grade Godforge Pills!” About half an hour later, the old man announced loudly.
As he spoke, one of the Cheongsam ladies carried a transparent medicine box around the stage.
“Today was worth coming; there are indeed Godforge Pills for auction!”
“As expected of Myriad Treasures Pavilion, they really managed to get Godforge Pills. I must get these ten pills today!”
“A single low-grade Godforge Pill can at least raise one level in the Entering God Realm. This is good stuff!”
Hearing the old man’s words, a buzz of excitement spread through the audience.
“The starting bid for ten Godforge Pills is one thousand Purple Gems!” the old man continued. “You may start bidding now!”
“One thousand one hundred Purple Gems!” A man shouted before the old man finished speaking.
“One thousand five hundred!”
“One thousand eight hundred!”
The bidding was intense, quickly reaching three thousand Purple Gems.
“Five thousand!” At this moment, a woman’s voice came from Room One.
The crowd gasped at this bid.
Although Godforge Pills were good, five hundred Purple Gems for one pill was too expensive!
After all, five hundred Purple Gems could buy many Celestial Treasures and high-level beast cores. With a bit of time, one could easily improve a level with those resources.
“Six thousand!” Someone in Room Three bid.
“Seven thousand!” An elderly voice came from Room Four.
“Eight thousand!” The woman in Room One bid again.
Hearing this amount, the other bidders in the rooms fell silent, clearly thinking the price was too high.
“Ten thousand!” Stout shouted.
Everyone turned to look at Room Six.
Spending ten thousand Purple Gems on ten Godforge Pills was truly extravagant!
With one thousand Purple Gems, one could easily buy other cultivation resources in the Shadow Market and improve a level with just a bit of time.
“Guests in Room Six, can we make a deal? We each pay five thousand for five Godforge Pills and stop raising the price. How about it?” The woman in Room One suggested loudly.
“Sorry, we have many people, and ten pills aren’t enough!” Stout replied.
He then added arrogantly, “So don’t bid anymore. Whatever you bid, I’ll top it. We don’t lack Purple Gems!”
The room fell into a brief silence.
“In that case, I won’t compete anymore!” The woman in Room One said after a moment of silence.
“Room Six bids ten thousand. Any higher bids?” The old man asked.
After calling three times with no response, he moved on to the next item.
Soon, a Cheongsam lady delivered the ten Godforge Pills to Room Six.
“These should be real, right?” Stout asked as he received the pills. “If these don’t improve our cultivation, there will be trouble!”
“Rest assured, sir. Myriad Treasures Pavilion’s items are never fake,” the Cheongsam lady replied with a smile.
“Can I ask who is in Room One?” Harleen asked.
“Sorry, we have rules not to inquire about guests’ identities. I don’t know who they are,” the Cheongsam lady replied.
“Understood!” Harleen nodded slightly.
Billy showed no interest in the next few auction items, so Stout did not bid again.
“Guests, next is the highlight of today’s auction!” Half an hour later, the old man’s voice rang out again.
“I believe everyone has heard that today’s final auction item is the sixth volume of the Heaven Book. Our Myriad Treasures Pavilion…”
“Elder Jaydon, stop teasing us and show us the Heaven Book already!” A man interrupted him from the audience.
“Yes, Elder Jaydon, show us! I’ve never seen a real Heaven Book before!” A woman added.
The audience buzzed with excitement again.
“Since everyone is so eager, I won’t keep you waiting any longer!” The old man smiled.
He then took out a volume of the Heaven Book from his storage ring and placed it in mid-air nearby.
With a slight twist of his eyes, the Heaven Book began to slowly move around the audience, allowing everyone to see it clearly.
“Boss, can you tell if it’s real?”
As the Heaven Book approached Room Six, Stout asked Billy.
“It’s real!” Billy squinted slightly and nodded.
He had already verified its authenticity when the old man took out the Heaven Book. It was indeed the sixth volume of the Heaven Book.
“Are you sure?” Stout smacked his lips. “Myriad Treasures Pavilion just brought out the Heaven Book like this. Aren’t they afraid someone might steal it?”
“They must have considered this already and made preparations!” Harleen replied thoughtfully. “Besides, the barrier around this platform isn’t something ordinary people can break!”
“True!” Stout nodded.
After about a quarter of an hour, the Heaven Book returned to the old man’s hands.
“Elder Jaydon, I have a question. May I ask?” A man asked loudly.
“Go ahead,” Elder Jaydon replied with a smile.
“For such a Sacred Object like the Heaven Book, why would Myriad Treasures Pavilion be willing to auction it?” The man asked.
“Haha, I’m sure many here are curious about this!” Elder Jaydon laughed again before speaking.
“The truth is somewhat embarrassing. We decided to auction it because no one at Myriad Treasures Pavilion can comprehend the Heaven Book.”
“This Sacred Object has no value in our hands. It’s better to auction it and make some friends…”
“Elder Jaydon, what’s the starting price for this Heaven Book?” Another man interrupted loudly.
“My friend, don’t you know that Heaven Books aren’t priced by Purple Gems?” A woman in the audience answered for Elder Jaydon.
“Not priced by Purple Gems?” The man was puzzled. “What do you mean?”
