After about half an hour, the battle was over. Most of the hundreds of Demonic Beasts lay on the ground, while the rest scattered.
Everyone had some injuries, but it was clear they had gained a lot from the fight.
Once Stout and the others finished harvesting the beast cores, Billy led them to a valley to rest.
An hour later, everyone was fully recovered.
“Boss, I’m ready to fight again. Let’s find some more Demonic Beasts!” Stout said to Billy. “A few more big ones and I should be able to break through!”
“Stout, you’ve harvested so many beast cores. Why not just refine them to break through instead of looking for more fights?” White Tiger replied.
“Hehe… you’re right!” Stout grinned and looked at Billy. “Boss, should we refine the beast cores now?”
“Wait a bit,” Billy responded. “Let’s check out the Purple Gem mine first.”
With that, he led the group into the air.
In less than fifteen minutes, they saw a large red forest below.
“Boss, is the Purple Gem mine in that forest?” Azure Dragon asked, pointing down.
“The Two-Horned Giant Beast mentioned it. Let’s go down and see,” Billy said as they descended and walked forward.
“Boss, it looks like there’s a fight ahead!” Casey said to Billy after about twenty minutes of walking.
“Yes,” Billy nodded.
He had sensed several strong auras within his spiritual range, the strongest being at the third-rank Entering God Realm.
He could also tell these auras were human, not from Demonic Beasts.
“Let’s go check it out,” Billy said, leading the way.
“Stop! Who are you?” Two men blocked their path after a few hundred meters.
“And who are you?” Judge retorted.
“Are you deaf or just stupid?” The man in blue robes sneered at Judge.
“Boss, should we kill them?” Judge ignored the man and looked at Billy.
“You bastard, you’re asking for death!” The blue-robed man raised his hand and attacked Judge with full force.
Before his attack could reach Judge, Ian Blade slashed his sword, and the man’s head flew off, his soul escaping.
“Hmm?” The other man was stunned.
“You dare destroy my body…” The soul snarled before Judge slashed again, dispersing it.
Seeing this, the other man turned to flee but was stopped by a Void Prison formed by Billy.
“Spare me, don’t kill me…” The man shouted.
“Answer a few questions and I’ll let you live,” Billy said as he walked over with the group.
“What do you want to know?” The man trembled.
“Who are you? Why are you here?” Billy asked.
“We’re from Heaven’s Fortune City’s Holland family. Our young master and the lady of the Duncan family came here looking for the Purple Gem mine…”
“What is Heaven’s Fortune City? Is it far from here?” White Tiger asked.
“You don’t know Heaven’s Fortune City?” The man was surprised. “It’s about eight or nine million miles from Demonic Beast Mountain, the closest Third-Tier City.”
“Third-Tier City? What does that mean?” White Tiger asked, puzzled.
“You don’t know what a Third-Tier City is?” The man was equally puzzled. “Are you from an eighth-tier star domain?”
“You better answer my question directly,” White Tiger responded.
“Ninth-tier star domain cities are classified into five levels based on their size and overall strength: Apex, first-tier, second-tier, third-tier, and some insignificant small towns,” the man explained.
Everyone understood now.
“Who’s fighting ahead?” Casey asked.
“It’s our Holland family against the Duncan family,” the man replied.
“Aren’t you here together? Why are you fighting? Because of the Purple Gem mine?” Casey asked.
“Yes,” the man nodded. “The Duncan family is the top family in Heaven’s Fortune City, controlling the City Lord’s Mansion. The Holland family is second. If we can take over the Purple Gem mine, we could surpass the Duncan family…”
Before he finished speaking, a loud noise came from ahead, and a figure flew towards them, crashing into a mountain a thousand meters away. His body was shattered, and his soul escaped but was pinned in mid-air by a spiritual sword.
“Stanley!” A woman’s voice cried out.
A woman appeared in their sight, looking about Harleen’s age. She wore green robes, had fair skin, delicate features, and an ethereal aura. However, she was injured with cuts on her arm and waist, blood at her lips.
She was the lady of the Duncan family.
“Libby, go back and tell the family head…” Stanley’s soul said to Libby Duncan.
“Hehe, Stanley, do you think anyone will leave here alive?” A man walked over with an old man in gray robes behind him.
Billy assessed their strength; both were strong. The man was at ninth-rank Mystic Kun Realm, and the old man behind him was at third-rank Entering God Realm. Libby Duncan was also strong at half-step Entering God Realm.
“Kian Holland, you dare attack my Duncan family? Prepare for your family’s destruction!” Stanley’s soul shouted at Kian Holland.
“I’m so scared!” Kian pretended to be afraid. “But first, your Duncan family needs to know it was us who attacked.”
“Don’t forget, this is Demonic Beast Mountain. Both our families were attacked by powerful Demonic Beasts. Your Duncan family died at their hands while Elder Lee and I barely escaped.”
“Doesn’t that sound reasonable?”
