Inferno Gryphon’s demonic power surged, forming three massive blood fireballs above its head. The fireballs shot violently towards Brycen, Wade, and Ramon. The intense heat forced them back several hundred meters.
At that moment, Leo transformed into a meteor, launching a punch at Inferno Gryphon. The beast spewed a scorching pillar of fire, aiming to incinerate Leo.
Protected by his spiritual energy, Leo’s punch split the fire in two, and a phantom fist struck Inferno Gryphon’s head heavily.
With a loud thud, the beast’s massive body was knocked down several dozen meters.
Inferno Gryphon’s eyes rolled back in a brief daze. Leo’s eyes flashed coldly as his Dragon Sword emitted a clear dragon roar, slashing out.
Brycen, Wade, and Ramon seized the opportunity, their sword lights flaring as they attacked Inferno Gryphon.
The beast barely recovered from its dizziness when it saw the four sword lights approaching.
In haste, its demonic power surged, forming a blood fire shield around its body.
The four sword strikes shattered the shield after a few seconds, leaving deep gashes on Inferno Gryphon.
“Damn humans!” Inferno Gryphon roared in pain, glaring at Leo and the others with blood-red eyes. “Kill!” Leo commanded coldly. The four of them flashed forward, weapons in hand, attacking Inferno Gryphon again.
After a fierce battle, Inferno Gryphon sustained more wounds. Realizing it was no match for the four, the beast felt a strong sense of humiliation. Despite its ancient divine beast bloodline and high status in Bloodsoul Sect, it was forced into such a dire situation.
“Despicable humans, you’ll pay for this!” Inferno Gryphon glared at Leo and the others, its demonic power exploding as it retreated. It turned into a fiery streak and fled northwest. Its escape speed was faster than Leo’s full-speed flight.
“Did Inferno Gryphon just run away?”
“Inferno Gryphon is Bloodsoul Sect’s guardian beast, and it couldn’t withstand this?”
“Bloodsoul Sect is utterly defeated.”
The cultivators on the city wall were stunned by Inferno Gryphon’s sudden escape. “Leo, Inferno Gryphon escaped,” Brycen remarked. Leo responded calmly, “It’s fine. It escaped, but it’s still powerful. If it wanted to flee, we couldn’t stop it.”
“Next time I attack Bloodsoul Sect, let’s see where it can run,” Leo said coldly. Brycen, Wade, and Ramon shuddered at his words. They had no doubt about Leo’s resolve.
“Leo!” Violet and Holden approached him. Leo nodded slightly to them, saying, “Good job.” He then looked at the bodies below. The cultivators on the wall also looked down.
On the ground lay twenty-four corpses, the scent of blood carried by the wind. The battle had ended. B
loodsoul Sect had come aggressively but lost four Spirit Saint experts and twenty Bloodsoul Guards, with their guardian beast heavily injured and fleeing.
“Old Mr. Watts, Mr. Watts, let’s return to Lord’s Manor,” Leo said to Brycen and Violet. Led by Leo, the group returned to Lord’s Manor.
As they flew over the city wall, someone started shouting, “Hail the Lord!”
“Hail the Lord!”
The deafening cheers followed. Hearing the shouts, Liberty blinked her beautiful eyes and murmured, “I didn’t expect the battle to end in his complete victory.”
“Indeed, this young man astonishes me more each time I see him. His future is promising,” Freddie remarked.
“After this battle, Bloodsoul Sect will have to keep a low profile,” Liberty said with a slight pout.
“Yes, with Dorian’s unknown demise added to this loss of five Spirit Saint experts, any sect would be heavily impacted,” Freddie agreed with a nod.
“From today on, the balance of power among the three sects will be disrupted…” Freddie sighed as he watched Leo and his group leave.
The battle’s outcome quickly spread from Clearwind Town to the entire Martial Dynasty.
Northwest of Clearwind Town, at Floating Cloud Mountain.
Under a towering blood maple tree outside Bloodsoul Hall, two people sat at a stone table. On the table were two cups of fragrant tea with a faint blood-red hue.
One man wore dark purple robes with sharp eyes and an imposing demeanor; he was Tyler, the current leader of Bloodsoul Sect. Opposite him sat a green-robed elder named Ollie Allen, a lower-tier Spirit Saint and elder of Bloodsoul Sect.
“Sect Leader, I’ve long coveted your Blood Mist Spirit Tea,” Ollie chuckled, sipping his tea slowly. Even a sip seemed to enhance his spiritual power.
Tyler also sipped his tea and said, “This tea is sweet and refreshing, very beneficial for us blood cultivators. I only have a few ounces left.”
As Tyler spoke, his brow furrowed involuntarily, his right hand pausing mid-air with the teacup. “What’s wrong, Sect Leader?” Ollie asked, noticing Tyler’s unease.
“I don’t know why, but I suddenly feel uneasy,” Tyler’s pupils contracted slightly; this feeling made him uncomfortable.
Ollie guessed the cause of Tyler’s unease and said, “Are you worried about capturing that boy? With Grand Elder Peter personally leading Spirit Venerable and three elders along with Bloodsoul Guard, that boy can’t escape however capable he is.”
“True,” Ollie’s words slightly calmed Tyler’s mind.
