Chapter 1923: Joining

“Mr. Bloomer, the Gold Horned Kirin Leopard is severely injured and should only have about ten to twenty percent of its combat strength left. With our numbers, I believe we can handle it,” said Monk Brooks calmly, looking at Leo.
“Additionally, the Gold Horned Kirin Leopard contains a trace of dragon blood, giving it strong regenerative abilities. If we wait for reinforcements from the sect, it might recover. Moreover, once the sect’s experts arrive, my share of the spoils will be significantly reduced.”
Monk Brooks’s explanation was reasonable. However, as soon as he finished speaking, a man in a golden robe named Brody glanced impatiently at Leo and Violet. “Master Brooks, there’s no need to waste time here. To avoid any delays, we should set off immediately. You two, decide quickly if you want to join us.”
To be honest, Brody didn’t consider the one-eyed man worth his attention. Adding two more people meant splitting the spoils further.
Leo’s gaze turned cold as he stared at Brody. “If you don’t speak, no one will take you for a mute.”
“You!” Brody’s face darkened.
“Please, do not argue,” Monk Brooks interjected, hoping to prevent any conflicts before they even set out. “Mr. Bloomer, do you wish to join us?” he asked sincerely.
Leo nodded. “Alright, we’ll join you.”
With Leo’s affirmative response, Monk Brooks said solemnly, “To hunt the injured Gold Horned Kirin Leopard, we will likely enter the central region of the Azure Dragon Mountains. We may encounter powerful beasts along the way, so be prepared.”
“Don’t worry, Master Brooks. We came here prepared,” Leo replied calmly.
“Good. Then it’s settled. We welcome you both. Now, let’s discuss the distribution of spoils,” Monk Brooks said as he scanned the group with seemingly gentle eyes.
His words made everyone in the group pay attention, even the mysterious man hidden under a gray robe turned slightly towards Brooks.
“How does Master Brooks propose we divide the spoils?” asked a small old man, moving his dry knuckles.
“The Gold Horned Kirin Leopard was discovered by me. I need its white wings to craft a flying spiritual weapon,” Monk Brooks said without hesitation.
As the discoverer and leader of this expedition, he indeed had the right to first choice.
Hearing this, everyone remained silent; no one objected.
The Gold Horned Kirin Leopard’s white wings were excellent materials for crafting flying spiritual weapons. Cultivators who refined these wings could increase their speed by twenty to thirty percent.
While the wings were precious, Monk Brooks only asked for them and nothing else, which was not excessive.
Leo wanted the golden horn on the leopard’s head and its essence blood, so he did not object either.
“Thank you all,” Monk Brooks said with a single-handed salute. “As for the rest of the materials from the Gold Horned Kirin Leopard, we will distribute them according to each person’s contribution. If there are disputes, we will auction them within the team.”
No one objected to this either.
Brooks’s proposal was a common practice in temporary teams. In case of disputes, an internal auction would be held, and the highest bidder would get the item while the Spirit Stones paid would be evenly distributed among the other members.
“As for any gains you make along the way, they belong to you individually. If we work together to kill something, we will distribute it as mentioned above. Any objections?” Brooks asked as he looked at each person.
“No objections,” Brody and Timothy replied.
“We sisters have no objections either,” said the twin sisters Keira and Holly.
“Nor do I,” said the old man.
Leo and the mysterious man also shook their heads.
“Good. Since there are no objections, let’s prepare to enter the mountains,” Monk Brooks said with his hands clasped together. “Does anyone have a low-altitude flying spiritual weapon that can carry multiple people?”
Flying spiritual weapons were faster than relying on spiritual power alone and could avoid attacks from poisonous insects and beasts on the outskirts.
However, such multi-person flying spiritual weapons were rare.
Everyone looked at each other but no one spoke up.
“If your flying spiritual weapon gets damaged, we will compensate you with resources from our gains,” Monk Brooks assured.
Hearing this, the small old man who had been squinting opened his eyes wider and said, “Fellow cultivators, I do have a flying boat.”
With a wave of his sleeve, a green light flashed out and quickly expanded into a small green boat capable of carrying several people. The boat’s surface was covered with mysterious wind runes.
Seeing the green boat, everyone’s eyes brightened.
“This is the Green Spirit Wind Travelling Boat. I acquired it by chance years ago. Its speed rivals that of Demon Sect realm flying beasts and can withstand an attack from a Demon King realm beast,” Beau said with a hint of pride in his eyes.
A multi-person flying spiritual weapon was not something everyone had.
The twin sisters and brothers Brody and Timothy looked envious.
Having a flying spiritual weapon with both speed and defense allowed one to avoid threats from poisonous insects and beasts while flying through forests and escape from powerful enemies if necessary.
“However, my Green Spirit Wind Travelling Boat can only carry five people,” Beau added.
This meant four people would not be able to ride his flying spiritual weapon.
Everyone’s expressions stiffened slightly.
“Amitabha. I have a single-person flying spiritual weapon and can give up one spot,” Monk Brooks said with his hands clasped together.
He then took out a white lotus jade seat from his robe and threw it forward while casting a spell. The lotus seat rapidly expanded into a one-person seat emitting a soft white glow with a hint of Buddhist solemnity.
Seeing this lotus seat, everyone focused their attention on it. It was clearly an excellent flying spiritual weapon as well.
“Master Brooks’s flying spiritual weapon is no less impressive than my Green Spirit Wind Travelling Boat,” Beau said with squinted eyes.
“Mr. Morris flatters me,” Monk Brooks replied politely.
Seeing both Beau and Brooks take out their flying spiritual weapons, Brody’s expression changed slightly. Given his status, he didn’t want to ride someone else’s flying spiritual weapon either.
“I don’t need one either,” Brody said directly as he unfastened a Spirit Pouch from his waist and opened it.
