Chapter 1857: Do You Understand?

Arthur’s last words were indeed true. Nowadays, the Grand Restoration Pill was no longer a secret within the Watts family.
Otherwise, Keith wouldn’t have conducted a live demonstration and explanation in front of so many people.
“Hmph, even if the status of our Watts family’s Grand Restoration Pill isn’t what it used to be, it’s still not something outsiders can pry into!”
“Mr. Watts, for bringing outsiders to the Alchemy Hall without permission, you will receive ten lashes. As for this man named Leo, he will be detained until his identity is verified,” Elder Catalina declared sternly.
Arthur’s face turned grim.
Leo’s expression darkened. “I am just a rogue cultivator. What identity does the Elder wish to verify, and how long will it take?”
“Do you dare question my decision?” Elder Catalina’s face grew even more severe.
The atmosphere in the hall became extremely tense.
Amber Watts, seeing the situation worsening, stood up and spoke in her uniquely cool voice, “Master Conway, Elder Catalina, please calm down. I also know this man named Leo. He is not from the Golden family or the Kaufman family. Amber can vouch for him.”
Amber Watts bowed slightly to the two of them.
Seeing the usually aloof young lady stand up for an outsider surprised not only the alchemists and apprentices present but also Keith and Elder Catalina.
Leo was also surprised. He hadn’t expected the cold beauty to speak up for him. The Medicinal Feast last night had not been in vain.
As Amber’s loyal admirer, Jon couldn’t stand by idly when his goddess had spoken. He stood up and said, “Father, Elder Catalina, I also know Leo. He doesn’t seem like a bad person.”
Seeing Jon stand up as well, Keith and Elder Catalina looked displeased.
Keith glared at Jon angrily. “Why are you causing trouble?”
Jon pouted but didn’t dare to contradict his father.
“This man has pried into our family’s secret medicine. Even with Miss Amber and Jon pleading for him, this matter cannot be taken lightly,” Elder Catalina said coldly. As the family’s disciplinary elder, she couldn’t afford to lose her authority today.
Leo’s eyes flashed coldly. He laughed mockingly, “Is there really anything worth prying into with a pill that has errors in both its ingredients and refining steps?”
His words left Keith and Elder Catalina stunned, and everyone else in the hall was equally shocked.
What did he mean by errors in ingredients and refining steps?
Was this man out of his mind?
“What a joke! Our Watts family’s Grand Restoration Pill has been perfected by several master alchemists. What do you know about alchemy?” Elder Catalina sneered at Leo as if he were an idiot.
Leo shook his head and sighed. “Ignorance is the saddest thing in this world.”
“You…!” Elder Catalina’s face wrinkled further in anger. “If you claim there are errors in our Grand Restoration Pill’s ingredients and steps, you’d better explain yourself clearly today!”
“I can explain everything,” Leo said fearlessly. “But let me make it clear first: if you use my method to refine the Grand Restoration Pill in the future, I want thirty percent of the sales profit.”
To Leo, his refining method was a patent, and it was only fair to charge a patent fee.
“Thirty percent? Who gave you such courage? I doubt your sanity,” Elder Catalina mocked.
Leo exuded confidence. “I only ask if you have the authority to decide. If not, bring someone who does.”
Leo’s words were audacious. The disciples in the Alchemy Hall had never seen anyone speak to Elder Catalina like this and couldn’t help but worry for him.
Elder Catalina managed both the family’s punishments and was a high-level third-grade alchemist. Even the family head wouldn’t dare speak to her this way.
Elder Catalina laughed in anger. “Fine, it’s been a long time since anyone dared speak to me like this. I will decide this matter. If your method produces a better Grand Restoration Pill, you will get thirty percent of the sales profit!”
Her voice turned icy. “But if you can’t explain or are just making things up, you won’t leave Watts Mansion easily. And you’ll receive fifty lashes for disrespecting me.”
Leo remained calm and began speaking loudly, “Your Watts family uses Spiritfruit, Icebloom, Serpent’s Tongue, and White Wonderbloom as the main ingredients for the Grand Restoration Pill.”
“Spiritfruit stops bleeding and calms internal organs; Icebloom relieves pain and coagulates blood; Serpent’s Tongue reduces swelling and expels pus; White Wonderbloom harmonizes these elements and has some blood-clearing properties.”
“Finally, you add Lifebloom, Purple Earthroot, Pulsevine, Cranebill, and Vitality Herb as auxiliaries.”
Elder Catalina snorted. “Master Conway explained these properties yesterday. Don’t repeat what’s unnecessary.”
“I’m not repeating,” Leo said coldly. “I’m pointing out the problems.”
“Problems? What problems?” Elder Catalina’s eyes narrowed.
“White Wonderbloom is mild and can blend with Icebloom and Serpent’s Tongue to preserve their potency. It’s a sun-loving herb with fire attributes that blend well with Icebloom and Serpent’s Tongue.”
“But adding Purple Earthroot, Pulsevine, Cranebill, and Vitality Herb greatly stimulates its latent fire attribute, which then depletes the Spiritfruit’s properties when they merge.”
Leo calmly analyzed.
Hearing Leo’s analysis, Elder Catalina and Keith exchanged serious looks.
Amber Watts was astonished. His analysis didn’t sound like nonsense; could he really understand alchemy?
“I know what you’re saying,” Elder Catalina said after a moment of thought. “Pulsevine, Purple Earthroot, Cranebill combined with Vitality Herb do enhance White Wonderbloom’s fire attribute, but not as severely as you claim.”
“Moreover, Pulsevine, Purple Earthroot, Cranebill have excellent blood-clearing properties. Though auxiliary herbs, they are crucial. Vitality Herb helps restore some spiritual energy during healing.”
Elder Catalina spoke thoughtfully.
