Tyler Hopkins nodded. “It’s possible. Although Falling Blossom Palace and Broken Blade Gate have the strength to kill Elder Dorian, they would consider the consequences.”
In the Awakened Continent, there were always various independent cultivators who did not belong to any sect or spiritual cultivation family.
They acted either on impulse or driven by profit, and because they were alone, they did not fear retaliation from any sect.
Their style was to fight if they could win and run if they couldn’t. So, being targeted by an independent cultivator was a headache.
If Saul and the others encountered an independent cultivator, they might have been killed for their treasures.
Tyler Hopkins stood up from the mat and said firmly, “Unless it’s a force that Bloodsoul Sect absolutely cannot provoke, we will not rest until this is resolved!”
Meanwhile, Leo had already flown to the edge of the Southern Marches prairie, where a lush forest appeared ahead.
After flying through the forest for about ten minutes, a large town came into view.
Leo put away his Dragon Sword and landed, trying to conceal his presence.
Walking onto the main road, he saw many people heading towards the town’s entrance.
Leo followed the crowd to the town’s entrance.
At the entrance, he looked up and saw the words “Clearwind Town” written on the city wall.
Four armored soldiers guarded the entrance.
Entering the town required a fee of one low-grade Spirit Stone.
Just as Leo was about to enter the town, he heard a sudden exclamation behind him.
Turning around, he saw a bronze carriage pulled by three strong horses speeding down the wide entrance path.
On either side of the bronze carriage were two burly men on black horses. Their expressions were extremely arrogant.
As the bronze carriage sped along, the wind blew open its curtains, revealing a young man in white inside.
The young man in white had a somewhat pale complexion but was quite handsome, though his face showed a strong sense of arrogance.
He held two slender women in his arms, his hands roaming over their bodies without any concern for being seen.
Even as they approached the city gate, the carriage did not slow down but continued to push through the crowd waiting to enter.
“The young lord is returning! Everyone get out of the way!” shouted one of the burly men guarding the carriage.
The people in line to enter, whose cultivation levels were not high, were angry but did not dare to speak out upon hearing it was the young lord. They quickly moved aside with exclamations, avoiding the carriage without looking too disheveled thanks to the wide road.
Leo, new to this world, naturally did not want trouble. As he prepared to step aside, he heard a sharp crack as a whip lashed towards him.
Though it did not reach him due to the distance, the sound stung his eardrums.
“Move aside, boy!” roared the man with the whip.
Leo stood still, his eyes flashing coldly. He did not seek trouble but was not afraid of it either.
The surrounding people thought Leo was scared stiff and looked at him with sympathy.
As the carriage was about to hit Leo, a voice sounded in his ear. “Fellow cultivator, watch out!”
A figure suddenly appeared beside Leo and pulled him aside by his arm.
The carriage sped past them, creating a gust of wind.
The man who had wielded the whip glared at Leo viciously when he saw the carriage had missed him. The young man inside also glanced at Leo through the curtains with a sneer of disdain.
Escorted by four guards, the carriage rushed through the city gate while the soldiers guarding it respectfully watched it enter without collecting any entrance fee.
“Fellow cultivator, are you alright?” asked the person who had pulled Leo aside, retracting his gaze from the carriage.
Leo turned to see a slightly chubby young cultivator who had pulled him aside.
The young cultivator’s most notable feature was his chubby face, which made one want to pinch it.
The young cultivator looked at Leo with concern, thinking he had been scared stiff earlier.
“I’m fine, thank you,” Leo replied with a smile.
“It was nothing. Fellow cultivator, be careful next time. That carriage runs rampant here,” said the chubby cultivator dismissively. “By the way, my name is Arthur Watts. What’s your name?”
“I’m Leo Bloomer. Is this your first time in Clearwind Town?” Leo asked.
“Yes. Who was that in the carriage?” Leo inquired further.
Arthur Watts sneered. “That was George Collins, the son of Clearwind Town’s lord.”
“George Collins relies on his father’s power to bully people here,” Arthur continued disdainfully.
“How powerful is Clearwind Town’s lord?” Leo asked again.
“He’s at the peak of Spirit King level. In a remote place like Clearwind Town, he’s considered top-tier,” Arthur replied.
Leo nodded slightly, gaining a rough understanding of this world.
He believed that ancient cultivators from Earth had come here after leaving Earth. The people and language here were identical to those of Atraria.
“Leo, I come from Zratolthe Watts family. Where are you from?” Arthur seemed eager to get to know Leo better.
Leo thought for a moment and smiled. “I’m just an independent cultivator wandering around.”
One must always be cautious. Although Leo had a good impression of Arthur Watts, some things were better left unsaid.
“Leo, it’s fate that we met. If you ever need help or face difficulties, you can find me,” Arthur said as he handed Leo a jade pendant. “This is Messaging Jade. You can contact me anytime with it.”
Leo took it curiously and said, “Thank you.”
In this world of cultivators, Messaging Jade was used for communication between cultivators, similar to mobile phones on Earth.
Using Messaging Jade was simple; both parties just needed to imprint their spiritual marks on it. Even if separated by great distances, they could communicate with each other.
In short, Messaging Jade’s communication method resembled quantum communication.
Of course, if spiritual senses were isolated or if both parties were in different dimensional worlds, Messaging Jade would be ineffective.
