“Mom.” Ayan appeared at the door at an unknown time, looking at Talia with a helpless expression. He said indifferently, “What kind of mother would introduce her son’s wife to another man?”
After speaking, he grabbed Camille’s hand and left directly.
Back in their bedroom, Ayan closed the door and looked at Camille, who was wearing a light-colored dress. Her figure was impeccable.
He lowered his gaze and asked calmly, “What do you think about what my mother said?”
Camille hesitated for a moment and then replied, “How do you expect me to respond to that?”
After asking, Camille smiled faintly.
Ayan followed suit and softly said, “What do you think?”
“Mr. Simpson, are you feeling insecure?”
Ayan remained silent, which was a disguised way of showing his displeasure.
Camille smiled lightly and raised her hand to encircle his neck. She whispered, “In my eyes, there is only you. How could I be interested in anyone else?”
Only then did Ayan smile happily and tightly embrace her. His voice was low and hoarse as he said, “Remember what you said. If you dare to change your mind, I’ll torture you to death.”
The last five words were spoken through gritted teeth.
Camille pinched his cheek lightly and said calmly, “Don’t say such things.”
Ayan took hold of her hand and pressed it against his chest. “If I don’t say it, then should I show it?”
Camille looked at him incredulously. Where did he learn it?
Before she could react, Ayan had already lifted her up and carried her to the edge of the bed.
He placed her on the bed and then positioned himself over her, pressing her beneath him.
His passion was irresistible, making it difficult for Camille to resist.
Even though they already had a child, his energy showed no signs of diminishing. Camille couldn’t help but say, “Are you trying to prove that you’re still young?”
Ayan held her chin firmly and kissed her lips fiercely. “Even when I’m seventy or eighty years old, I can still satisfy you.”
Camille was too tired to speak anymore. Men had their own pride in this aspect.
Camille slept soundly without any dreams.
The next morning, they both left the Simpson’s mansion to go to work separately.
Camille arrived at the office building. As soon as she got out of the car, Sienna approached her with an excited look on her face. She asked, “Did Crystal tell you?”
“Hmm? What did she say?”
“Don’t you know?”
Camille furrowed her brows and said calmly, “Know what? Please be clear.”
Sienna continued, “Crystal messaged me, saying that she’s planning to take a leave of absence from Mario and probably leave the project.”
“When did this happen?”
“I received her message this morning. Didn’t you receive it?”
Sienna asked tentatively.
After all, Crystal had a closer relationship with Camille than with Sienna.
Camille was slightly taken aback and stood still. To be honest, she really didn’t know anything about it. She maintained a calm face but felt uneasy inside.
Sienna immediately waved her hand in front of Camille’s face and asked, “What’s wrong?”
“I’ll ask her later.” Camille took out her phone and checked. Indeed, there was no message from Crystal.
Camille felt something off.
Crystal was acting strangely.
Camille went upstairs with Sienna. Sienna told her that she had been experiencing morning sickness recently and had no appetite. She didn’t know what to do.
Camille shared her experience in a low voice. When she was pregnant with Timothy, her reactions weren’t that significant.
However, Sienna was more sensitive at this time and needed some reassurance.

Camille waited until noon but still didn’t receive any messages from Crystal. This left her pondering.
After all, their relationship was quite close, so Camille wondered if there was something she did wrong that caused Crystal to leave without saying anything but choosing only to inform Sienna about leaving the project.
Camille always wanted to be able to face herself honestly in everything she did. So even if there were things she did wrong, she hoped the other person would speak up. Maybe it was just a misunderstanding. At least let her know why. If she knew the reason and didn’t have that intention or meaning behind it, but the other person couldn’t accept it, then it meant that their values didn’t align.
But with everything being unclear, Camille found it difficult to accept.
Camille was distracted throughout her morning at work, occasionally making small mistakes.
Even Lily noticed that something was off with her and asked worriedly, “Camille, are you okay?”
Camille looked up at Lily and replied, “I’m fine. Maybe just a bit tired.”
Lily nodded in understanding and said, “Take a break if you need to. Work is never-ending.”
Camille agreed with a nod.
She left the office with a water cup in hand and took a deep breath in the corridor before dialing Crystal’s number on her phone.
The call connected quickly.
Camille spoke first, “Crystal?”
Crystal’s voice sounded nasal as she replied, “Yes, I’m here.”
There was silence in the atmosphere.
Camille asked, “What’s wrong? Are you okay?”
Crystal replied with a stuffy voice, “I’m fine.”
If nothing was wrong, why did she mention quitting?
The project had already entered a stable phase by now. Leaving at this point didn’t seem very wise.
Moreover, the SynergyCon project attracted much attention. Many people wanted to participate in this project, but they didn’t get the chance.
Why would she want to leave all of a sudden?
Camille voiced her doubts by asking, “Did something happen? Why did you tell Sienna that you want to quit?”
Crystal fell into a brief silence before speaking in a hoarse voice, “It’s nothing, it’s just my personal issue. The main reason is that the commute takes too long. It’s very inconvenient to get to work. That’s why I want to quit and return to Flento City.”
“Have you already returned to Flento City?”
“Yes, I’m in Flento City now.”
“Just because of the commute?” Camille found it hard to believe. She continued, “You’ve been studying in Hance City all this time. It shouldn’t be an issue…”
Camille smiled faintly as she said, “Is there something unhappy happening or did I do something that made you uncomfortable so you don’t want to come to work anymore?”
She really wanted to understand the situation clearly.
Crystal hurriedly interjected, “No, it’s not your fault. You’re really good. It’s just my own problem. Please don’t ask anymore. Okay?”
She really didn’t know how to explain herself.
