“Ha!” Tim Peters sneered coldly. “The Hall Master is right. This place is so remote that even if someone dies here, no one will ever know.”
They were in the outskirts of the Star Continent, an isolated area devoid of any signs of life.
Hearing this, Aiden Enyart’s expression darkened. “Tim Peters, what do you mean by that?”
“What do I mean?” Tim replied with a sinister smile. “It’s simple. This will be your grave.”
At his words, the sharp sound of weapons being drawn echoed as over a hundred members of the Dragon House pulled firearms from their belts.
In an instant, dozens of weapons were aimed at Chris and Aiden Enyart.
Aiden, gritting his teeth, glared at Tim. “Tim Peters, I never thought the ones who would betray me would be you and Ezra!”
Tim laughed triumphantly. “Aiden Enyart, you won’t escape death today!”
Seeing Tim’s smug expression, Aiden chuckled grimly. “Let me guess-Ezra sent you to kill me, didn’t he?”
Tim didn’t deny it. “That’s right! Let me tell you the truth. Lord Ezra has already pledged allegiance to the Prince. The entire upper echelon of the Wizards is imprisoned at headquarters. Once you’re dead, Lord Ezra will ascend to the position of Hall Master, and I’ll take the Dragon House’s House Lord seat.”
Tim’s eyes glimmered with greed. For years, he’d coveted the House Lord’s position but had never had the opportunity. With Ezra as Hall Master, the Dragon House leadership was sure to be his. That was why he had willingly carried out Ezra’s orders.
At that moment, Chris stepped forward, mockery evident in his tone. “Do you really think a mere hundred men are enough to kill us?”
Tim’s expression darkened as he fixed his gaze on Chris. “Chris, I know who you are. You’re the one who destroyed the Wizards’ former Hall Master, Ron Jefferson, and wiped out the Star Continent’s first family, the Lees. We hadn’t planned to deal with you, but since you walked into our trap, don’t blame us for being ruthless. Men!”
With a loud command, hundreds of men poured out of an abandoned factory. Each one wielded a weapon aimed at Chris and Aiden.
Ezra had spared no effort in his attempt to eliminate Aiden, sending nearly all of the Dragon House’s elite fighters.
Tim’s laughter rang out as his forces surrounded Chris and Aiden. “Chris, even if you’re Amerosia’s Primus, it doesn’t matter. Today, both of you will die! Kill them all!”
At his order, hundreds of Dragon House members prepared to open fire.
Boom!
Suddenly, a grenade came hurtling through the air, erupting in a deafening explosion.
Before Tim and his men could react, bullets rained down like a storm, cutting through the Dragon House ranks.
Screams filled the air as Dragon House members fell one by one, their blood staining the ground.
Tim’s face turned pale with fear. He couldn’t comprehend what was happening.
Turning his head, he saw heavily armed Death Guards emerging from all directions. These elite fighters, with their superior combat abilities, were an unstoppable force.
Aiden looked at Chris with admiration. “Mr. Shelby, you’re incredible. You anticipated Ezra’s assassination attempt and prepared for it in advance. Without you, I wouldn’t have survived today.”
Aiden’s tone was filled with gratitude and a tinge of sorrow. As Hall Master, he had almost been killed by his own people-a bitter irony.
Gunfire continued to echo as the battle raged on. The Death Guards moved with precision, taking down Dragon House members with every shot.
Within minutes, the Dragon House forces were decimated. Nearly half of them lay lifeless on the ground.
Realizing the battle was lost, Tim shouted, “Retreat! Everyone, retreat!”
As the remaining Dragon House members attempted to flee, Peony arrived with 30, 000 surviving Wizards members, cutting off their escape.
Despair filled Tim’s face. He knew he was doomed.
“Brothers, fight your way out with me!” Tim roared.
Gunfire and screams erupted once more.
But the battle was over in less than a minute. Every Dragon House member lay dead, their bodies littering the ground as blood soaked the earth.
Aiden sighed heavily as he surveyed the carnage.
No matter what, the Dragon House members had once been part of the Wizards. Now, he’d been forced to kill them with his own hands. The weight of it bore down on him.
Chris approached, his voice calm but firm. “These men betrayed the Wizards. They were no longer part of us.”
Aiden forced a bitter smile. “I know, Mr. Shelby. But seeing so many of my brothers dead still weighs heavily on my heart.”
His expression hardened. “It’s all because of that bastard Ezra. He’s the reason for this bloodshed. I won’t rest until he’s dead!”
Chris nodded. “Our priority now is to kill Ezra and reclaim control of the Wizards.”
Aiden asked, “What’s our next step, Mr. Shelby?”
Chris’s gaze was resolute. “Now that we’ve dealt with these traitors, our next target is the Wizards’ headquarters!”
“Master, I caught one alive,” a voice suddenly called out.
Tiger approached, dragging a man behind him with a smug grin.
Chris’s eyes narrowed in surprise. The man was none other than Tim Peters.
Despite the relentless gunfire, Tim had somehow survived.
Tiger tossed him to the ground like a piece of trash.
Tim didn’t hesitate. He knelt before Aiden, tears streaming down his face. “Hall Master, I was wrong! Ezra forced me to do it. Please, spare my life!”
Aiden sneered. “Now you realize your mistake? It’s too late!”
Without another word, Aiden drew his gun and fired.
Bang!
Tim’s head exploded, his lifeless body slumping to the ground.
Meanwhile, at the Wizards’ headquarters, several Hall of Death guards stood vigil at the gates, weapons in hand.
A convoy of trucks approached and came to a halt.
A group of Wizards members stepped out, opening the truck doors to reveal over a thousand strong men inside.
One of the Wizards members stepped forward. “We’re here to make a delivery.”
