The two were evenly matched, their battle locked in a stalemate.
In the end, the outcome depended on Chris and Blood’s fight.
Blood, battered and disheveled, refused to give up. His heart raced with shock. Who is this Chris? he thought. He’s a monster!
Frustration boiled over as Blood realized he was completely on the defensive. Roaring with anger, he reached into his pocket, pulled out a capsule, and swallowed it.
“Roar!”
In an instant, his eyes turned blood-red, his aura surging dramatically.
Chris frowned. He recognized this transformation. Blood had taken a forbidden drug designed to unleash a person’s potential in a short span of time, pushing their power to incredible heights.
But Chris was also familiar with the consequences. Once the drug’s effects wore off, the user would be left severely weakened, possibly even facing death. The drug was rare and highly dangerous.
Chris hadn’t expected Blood to possess such a thing.
With his strength suddenly amplified, Blood lunged at Chris, his sword aiming for a vicious strike.
Chris dodged just in time.
Boom!
The sword missed and struck a massive boulder, shattering it into pieces.
Chris’s expression hardened.
“Heh heh heh,” Blood sneered. “Chris, today, you die!”
He charged at Chris again, his movements wild and aggressive.
Chris smirked. “You think taking that drug makes you invincible? Dream on.”
With that, Chris gripped his Dragon Slayer sword tightly, facing Blood head-on.
As the fight dragged on, Blood began to feel the drug’s effects fading. His enhanced strength was wearing off. Chris, on the other hand, fought tirelessly, his attacks relentless, as if he possessed an endless reserve of energy.
Blood’s heart sank. He knew if this continued, his defeat-and death-would be inevitable.
“Chris! You leave me no choice!” Blood roared. Fueled by desperation, he unleashed his trump card.
“Bloody Berserker!”
Gripping his sword with both hands, Blood’s skin turned a deep crimson. All his remaining strength erupted in a final, all-or-nothing attack.
Chris froze for a moment, his expression serious.
Blood’s ultimate move, Bloody Berserker, was his most powerful technique. It was his last resort-a skill he’d never use unless cornered.
Today, Chris had pushed him to the edge. Blood had no choice but to gamble everything.
If he failed to kill Chris, he would surely die.
Seeing the oncoming attack, Chris gritted his teeth and swung his Dragon Slayer sword with all his might.
Boom!
The clash sent Chris flying backward, forcing him to retreat several steps before regaining his footing.
His face showed disbelief. He hadn’t expected Blood’s final move to be so overwhelming.
But Blood’s strength had reached its limit. The drug’s effects were gone, leaving him gasping for breath.
He looked at Chris, his eyes filled with disbelief. He had given everything he had, used his strongest move, and yet… he couldn’t kill this man.
Chris smirked coldly. “What now? Are you out of tricks? Then it’s time for you to die.”
With a flash, Chris vanished from view.
Blood’s eyes widened in panic. “No!”
Before he could react, a tremendous force slammed into him.
Bang!
Blood was sent flying through the air, blood spurting from his mouth.
“Without the drug, how do you plan to fight me?” Chris sneered, closing the distance in an instant.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Chris’s fists rained down on Blood, each strike landing with brutal precision. Blood coughed up blood with every hit, his body broken and battered.
“Ahhh!”
With one final scream, Blood collapsed to the ground, his body mangled and lifeless.
The scene left Sai Hunter, who had been watching from the sidelines, utterly stunned.
He couldn’t believe it. Blood, his strongest fighter, was dead-killed by Chris.
Fear took hold of Sai Hunter. If Blood couldn’t stop Chris, how could he?
Chris turned to Sai Hunter, his icy gaze filled with murderous intent.
“Your turn.”
With those words, Chris charged toward him.
Sai Hunter panicked, but just as Chris closed in for the kill, a voice rang out.
“Chris!”
Hearing the familiar voice, Chris froze mid-attack.
He turned to see a figure approaching the mountaintop.
It was Esther.
Covered in sweat and visibly exhausted, Esther’s arrival caught Chris off guard.
Seeing her, Chris felt a wave of emotion. She had come all this way just for him.
Bang!
Taking advantage of Chris’s momentary distraction, Sai Hunter struck Ray and bolted, running as fast as he could.
“Kill him!” Chris shouted, his voice filled with fury.
Ray immediately gave chase, but Sai Hunter’s desperation fueled his speed.
He pushed himself to the limit, narrowly escaping.
Chris sighed. Even if he gave chase, Sai Hunter’s head start made it nearly impossible to catch him.
But Chris didn’t care. Sai Hunter wasn’t worth his concern.
Turning to Esther, he asked, “Why did you come here?”
Tears streamed down Esther’s face as she threw herself into his arms.
“Chris, you idiot! Do you know how worried I’ve been? Why are you always putting yourself in danger? What would happen to me and Hope if something happened to you?”
Chris gently held her, his voice soft. “I’m sorry. I’ll never make you worry again.”
At that moment, Ray returned, looking a bit embarrassed.
“Did Sai Hunter get away?” Chris asked.
Ray nodded apologetically. “He’s too fast. I couldn’t catch him.”
Chris’s expression didn’t change. It didn’t matter. To him, Sai Hunter was insignificant.
