Chapter 1178

Sierra understood but said nothing, thinking it was nice for the child to have a bit of hopeful anticipation.
She feared only that the child would be disappointed.
Holding her son’s hand, she walked forward. After a few steps, her phone buzzed with a WhatsApp message.
Curious, she opened it and saw a message from Sylvia: “Franklin and I are going to Middle Evroya for a business trip this weekend. We can spend a day with Alex. Does he want to go to the amusement park?”
Sierra stared at the message in disbelief.
Sylvia was really coming?
And taking her son to the amusement park?
Her head spun. “Miss Andrews, it was just a casual remark from the child. You don’t need to go to such lengths…”
“We can’t let the child be disappointed. Since we promised, we must keep our word,” Sylvia quickly replied. “Franklin and I have already booked our tickets.”
Sierra excitedly typed on her phone, “Alright then. Alex will be very happy. Thank you.”
She showed the phone to Alex. “Look, Miss Andrews says she’ll come to see you this weekend.”
The sister who had been surprised earlier also came over to look at the phone. “Wow, our Miss Andrews is really a great person. Admirable.”
Alex grinned happily. “Great! I want to pick flowers for her.”
In fact, Sylvia did need to go to Middle Evroya for business. Since she was going, it made sense to visit the child.
Franklin was sitting beside her. “Darius and Isabelle invited us to Middle Evroya for the Fire Dance Festival? I remember it’s a significant local festival, but every year the homemade fireworks and firecrackers cause some injuries.”
Sylvia showed him the booked flight information.
“The tickets are booked. The Fire Dance Festival is held at midnight every year, with people jumping over various bonfires to bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new one. I think it’s quite meaningful. Since they invited us, we should go; otherwise, it would seem rude.”
“Whatever you say,” Franklin said, hugging her tightly.
“Let’s go; I should head back,” Sylvia said, glancing out the window at the darkening sky.
Franklin stared at her possessively. “Leaving again? You always leave right after finishing your business.”
It seemed like she had no attachment to him.
She always seemed so assured about him.
As Sylvia stood up, Franklin felt a bit depressed.
Seeing his sulky expression, Sylvia couldn’t help but laugh. She cupped his face with both hands. “Are you in a bad mood? Is your period affecting your emotions?”
Franklin glanced at her. “I’m a man. How can I have a period?”
But he enjoyed her holding his face.
His lips curled into a smile. “Honey, I have a great gift for you. I think you’ll like it.”
Sylvia looked at him suspiciously. “What gift?”
She had a bad feeling about this.
Then she saw Franklin take out an unopened package from the cabinet.
“When did you order something online?” She blinked, her long eyelashes casting faint shadows.
Franklin smiled meaningfully. “Open it yourself.”
Without suspecting anything, she started unwrapping the package.
However, when she saw what was inside, her mind went blank.
She was holding a set of lingerie!
It included lace headbands and stockings-everything in one set.
Even the fabric was barely enough to cover anything.
She looked at Franklin in shock, her face quickly turning red. “When did you buy this?”
It was rare to see Sylvia, usually so composed, blushing like this.
Franklin hooked her waist and pulled her into his arms. “Why don’t we try it now?”
He quickly went to shower, and when he came out, he saw Sylvia curled up under the blanket, looking especially cute and charming.
He felt like he was opening a surprise box.
Excitedly, he reached out to lift the blanket but saw she hadn’t changed. He was puzzled. “Why didn’t you change?”
Sylvia gave him a look as if he were a dog. “Shouldn’t we wash these clothes first? Why don’t you wash them now, and I’ll wear them tomorrow when they’re dry.”
Franklin felt a bit disappointed but quickly took the lingerie and rushed to the bathroom to wash it.
Watching Franklin wash lingerie was too much for her; she couldn’t bear to look.
From time to time, he glanced at her with tender and affectionate eyes, filled with a burning flame.
Sylvia’s face grew hot. “I should head back now.”
“I’m done washing,” he said, wringing out the lingerie and hanging it on the balcony.
He pulled the curtains on the balcony to prevent anyone from seeing the lingerie drying there.
Turning around, he wrapped his arms around her. When she mentioned Darius and Isabelle inviting them to the Fire Dance Festival, he had wanted to hug her.
Now he couldn’t hold back any longer. He leaned in to kiss her but was pushed away. “I really need to go.”
Franklin cupped her face with deep eyes. “Honey, you’re so beautiful. I never get tired of looking at you; you’re even more beautiful than TV stars.”
Sylvia’s mouth twitched. “I know I’m beautiful, but why are you so cheesy? So slick?”
She wanted to say that his cool persona was crumbling.
Until Franklin kissed her passionately, filling the air with an ambiguous atmosphere.
Just then, Franklin’s phone rang. Annoyed, he grabbed it and saw it was the president calling.
He sneered and turned off his phone.
But then the president called Sylvia’s phone.
Sylvia gave him a helpless look. “Should I answer?”
Franklin glared at the caller ID. “Answer it!”
He took the phone and answered gruffly, “What do you want?”
The president sounded annoyed. “Do you still respect me as your father?”
“Can you change your line? I’m tired of hearing that,” Franklin said coldly, impatiently. “If you have something to say, say it quickly; otherwise, I’m hanging up.”
“The Fire Dance Festival in Middle Evroya is about to start. You represent the cabinet at their festival,” the president said. He had also received an invitation but couldn’t attend personally.
A small festival like that didn’t warrant his presence.
Franklin felt his scalp tingle. “Fine, I’ll go.”
But the president continued talking about Middle Evroya and its importance.
Franklin wanted to shut him up. “I got it!”
He hung up abruptly.
The world became quiet again.
Franklin’s voice turned husky and seductive. “Honey…”
Sylvia loved seeing him filled with deep affection.
Time passed slowly.
When Sylvia woke up again, it was late at night.
She checked her phone and saw it was already ten o’clock at night.
She saw messages from Clare asking if she’d come home for dinner and photos of dinner from Mollie.
Her family had waited for her before starting dinner.
Feeling guilty, she quickly replied to Clare, “I had something come up this evening; I’m heading back now.”
“Is Grandma asleep?”
Clare replied quickly, “Yes, she’s asleep. We figured you were busy.”
Sylvia’s body ached as she sat up, letting the thin blanket slide off.
She rubbed her sore waist and saw Franklin working on his laptop on the bedroom sofa.
Shocked!
Wasn’t he tired?
Franklin looked up at her slowly. “Awake? Are you hungry?”
His deep eyes were captivating, his voice magnetic and elegant. The dim light cast a dreamy glow on him.
“No,” Sylvia shook her head and went to freshen up in the bathroom. When she came out dressed neatly, she said, “I need to go back.”
Franklin frowned slightly. “We’re married; this should be your home.”
“But Hipps Family is also my home!” Sylvia sat beside him and wrapped her arms around his neck. “Besides, you’re now the president’s son; you usually live in the Presidential Palace.”
Her voice was soft and sweet, different from her usual cool tone, making Franklin’s heart melt.
He grabbed his coat and put it on. “Let’s go; I’ll take you home.”
Sylvia smiled sweetly at him. “Thank you, honey.”
She kissed his cheek lightly.
Franklin tapped her nose gently. “Let’s go.”
How could he refuse when she acted so cute?
The car drove slowly through the night; the weather had been clear lately, not as cold as before.
“Spring has arrived; soon we can put away our coats and down jackets,” Sylvia said suddenly as she looked out the window.
“When it gets warmer, we can go for an outing,” Franklin said, holding her small hand with one hand on the steering wheel. “We’ve been together for so many years.”
“Spring marks our seven-year itch,” Sylvia smiled at him. “Alex is already two years old. We’ve been together for four years, divorced, and then reunited for almost three years.”
Franklin’s handsome face showed a hint of sentimentality.
