Chapter 1167

Book:Surprised With Her Real Identities Published:2025-2-5

Fatima tugged at her father Adonis. “Dad, what are you saying? I think Miss Andrews can handle it, right?”
“You’re too young to understand,” Adonis pushed his daughter behind him, his tone growing more irritable. “Miss Andrews, you’re being too reckless! My brother trusted you so much, yet you toy with the Gentry family.”
“This is outrageous!” Clay was also furious. “How could you disregard the Gentry family like this? Even if you didn’t help, it would be better than deceiving us!”
“Our Sylvia didn’t deceive you!” Vaild couldn’t help but defend Sylvia against the Gentry family’s harsh words. “If it weren’t for Sylvia, would you have had so much funding?”
“You’re the ungrateful ones,” Mark coldly looked at the Gentry family, feeling it was unfair to Sylvia.
Sylvia stopped her twin brothers from continuing the argument. “Some things need to be seen to be believed.”
She glanced coolly at the Gentry family. “I never do anything I’m not confident about.”
“Hah! Stop boasting!” Adonis said angrily. “What if you lose? Will you compensate the Gentry family for all the losses?”
Casey couldn’t listen anymore. Thinking of Sylvia’s usual contributions to him and the Gentry family, he felt he should choose to trust Sylvia.
“Adonis, Miss Andrews has been exceedingly kind to the Gentry family. She’s our benefactor. How can you speak to her like that? I believe Miss Andrews will win.”
Tony sighed helplessly. “Everyone, stop talking. No matter what, Miss Andrews is our benefactor. How can we repay kindness with ingratitude? If she wins, it’s our good fortune. If she loses, it doesn’t matter because we never had a chance of winning anyway.”
In his heart, he still didn’t believe Sylvia would win.
As they sighed and lamented, several black cars slowly approached and finally stopped in the parking lot of the ski competition venue.
More than ten men in black got out of the cars, each one tall and strong, clearly not to be trifled with.
The last car door opened, and a man in a ski suit slowly stepped out.
His handsome face was stern, colder than the snowy ski field.
When he saw Sylvia and Franklin, his pupils suddenly contracted. Sylvia? Franklin?
What a small world!
He never expected to encounter this couple he hated so much in such a situation!
With each step he took, memories of his unborn child who died in Winter’s womb and the missing Winter flashed through his mind.
His family was torn apart, and he ended up in prison. Luckily, he escaped.
Now he lived a wretched life, all thanks to this couple!
He vowed to take revenge now that fate had brought them together again.
His eyes filled with bloodlust and overwhelming hatred surged in his chest.
But he restrained himself; there were still people from the Gentry family present. He needed the perfect moment to act!
Seeing Sylvia in her ski suit made him smirk. It seemed this woman wanted to compete with him.
He wouldn’t go easy on her!
Thinking this, he felt a strange sense of satisfaction.
He walked up to the Gentry family, looking down on them before finally focusing on Tony. “Tony, it seems you’ve brought in outside help?”
Tony’s chest tightened with anger at his arrogant attitude. Despite owing the Gentry family money and causing trouble for them, this man still acted superior.
How could someone be so shameless?
“EMPEROR, of course I brought in outside help. Everyone knows the Gentry family is not skilled in sports. Unlike you, who chooses competitions you excel at.”
EMPEROR laughed instead of getting angry at Tony’s sarcasm. “Then let’s start the competition.”
Hatred burned in his chest as he avoided looking at Sylvia and Franklin, fearing he might shoot them on sight.
Sylvia and Franklin exchanged glances; it was their first time seeing EMPEROR.
Yet Sylvia felt a strange familiarity she couldn’t place.
“I feel like I know him.”
Franklin narrowed his eyes slightly. “But I’ve never seen him before. His voice is unfamiliar too. Who is this EMPEROR?”
“You feel it too?” Sylvia pursed her red lips. “That’s odd…”
“Don’t think too much about it. Focus on the competition.” Franklin held her hand as Fatima exhaled warm breath. “Don’t be nervous. I believe you’re the best.”
His eyes were tender as he looked at her. “I didn’t know my wife could ski. You’ve surprised me.”
Well… he was actually used to being surprised by her many talents.
The halfpipe ski venue was a sport combining beauty and danger.
The five judges EMPEROR brought sat in the viewing area with professional electronic scoreboards behind them.
The atmosphere was tense and serious.
Though an amateur private match, EMPEROR made it feel like an Olympic event.
The lead judge was a renowned professional in skiing competitions.
Holding a microphone, he introduced the rules. “The competition consists of four rounds, each requiring six moves. After four rounds, scores are averaged for a final score. The highest score wins.”
EMPEROR taunted Sylvia. “Miss, why don’t you rest first and learn from my moves?”
Sylvia stood calmly, her voice steady. “You first.”
The Gentry family wasn’t as calm as her; they started to murmur nervously.
“Can she do it?”
“Who knows! It’s frustrating.”
“If she weren’t our benefactor, I’d curse her.”
“I heard EMPEROR is great at skiing!”
“Shut up! Don’t distract Miss Andrews.” Casey couldn’t bear it anymore and defended Sylvia firmly believing she wouldn’t deceive him.
“Casey, I’m worried.” Fatima clung to Casey’s arm nervously.
“Don’t worry; she’ll win.” Casey inexplicably trusted Sylvia.
EMPEROR entered the venue and began performing difficult moves flawlessly.
His rotations and transitions were perfect.
After four rounds, he completed all moves without fault.
Seeing EMPEROR’s high level made the Gentry family even more despondent.
It seemed they were doomed to lose.
EMPEROR’s average score reached an impressive 9 points.
Passing by Sylvia, EMPEROR smirked provocatively. “I scored 9 points. Don’t cry if you can’t beat that.”
Sylvia looked at him calmly. “That day will never come.”
She entered the venue and began executing moves methodically after the judge’s signal.
Her first move was a challenging 900-degree rotation followed by a 720-degree transition!
The crowd fell silent in shock as she completed it flawlessly.
“Unbelievable… she did such a difficult move.”
Sylvia continued with a 540-degree rotation into a 360-degree transition, all without using her skis!
It was an almost impossible feat!
Even the judges stood up in astonishment. “She discarded her skis? Only one person in history has done that! The genius ski girl!”
“Impossible! In all my years as a judge, I’ve never seen this!”
One judge removed his glasses to rub his eyes before watching intently again. “My God! She’s starting her second round!”
“How can she land so steadily?”
“Her air time is incredible!”
No one could believe their eyes.
EMPEROR watched Sylvia with a dark expression; he hadn’t expected her to be so formidable.
Competing without skis was rare in skiing history.
Only one genius girl had ever reached this level before.
Why!
Damn it!
Why were her moves more perfect than his? Her air time higher and landings steadier?
No mistakes-she was flawless.
Sylvia began her third round with six moves even more challenging than before but still executed perfectly.
In the fourth round, she focused on stability with six high-air moves completed without error.
The judges couldn’t help but stand and applaud her perfection.
