On the way to the company, Tom felt particularly good. The gentle breeze blew through the window, caressing his handsome face. He was finally getting married, and the thought of it filled his heart with sweetness. There is a kind of happiness in this world that money can’t buy: being loved by the one you love and being able to be together.
When his car stopped at the entrance of Fritz Group, he pulled his thoughts back. Many female employees saw him get out of the car and excitedly restrained their screams, “Mr. Fritz is back! Look! Mr. Fritz is really back!” Everyone looked towards the entrance and saw a tall, familiar figure walking in. He wore a custom-made shirt, his features were as handsome as if they were sculpted, and he exuded an innate charm with every move.
Tom’s identity as a chemistry professor made him even more attractive. After all, this wasn’t a profession one could enter just by being wealthy; it required intelligence. Many of the company’s decisions were made by him, and the projects were thriving under his lead. Truly smart people excel at everything they do.
“Hello, Mr. Fritz,” someone shyly greeted him with courage.
Someone else joyfully called out, “Mr. Fritz.”
Many female employees felt especially excited when they saw Tom because Mr. Fritz was still single; they wouldn’t avoid him. Having read many novels, they began to believe that even a CEO could fall in love with a Cinderella.
So instead, everyone would come forward to greet him, hoping that their beauty might catch Mr. Fritz’s attention. Although Tom was the heir to the group, he was very cultured and not aloof at all. In the company, when facing his employees, he would always nod in response or wear a gentle smile.
The young Zhong Ling held her files and smiled as she watched Mr. Fritz’s back heading towards the elevator. From her smile, it wasn’t hard to see that her mind was playing out a dramatic romance.
“I heard Mr. Fritz is getting engaged,” said a female employee not far behind.
Ingrid stiffened and frowned as she turned her head at the sound.
“What?” someone asked in surprise, “When did he find a girlfriend?”
“Is it fake?” another person said.
“I’m not really sure either; it’s just what I heard.”
Hearing this, Ingrid felt quite disappointed but then thought it couldn’t be true. “Where did this rumor come from?”
All the female employees looked at Ingrid, finding her anger inexplicable but said nothing since they didn’t know her at all.
The elevator door opened, and Tom stepped inside without hearing any of the discussions about whether he had a girlfriend or was getting engaged. The topic spread within the company but Ingrid didn’t believe it.
Without an official announcement, no one knew if it was true or false.
Tom was only there for a meeting, so after it ended, he said goodbye to his father and left the company.
As he walked out of the elevator downstairs, Ingrid hurriedly walked in with her files and bumped straight into Tom Fritz.
The documents in her hands scattered all over the floor.
Tom couldn’t dodge in time; Ingrid crashed directly into his firm chest. The man instinctively took a step back but didn’t reach out to support her.
Ingrid managed to stand steadily and looked up in surprise at the handsome man before her, “Mr. Fritz, I’m sorry!”
Tom didn’t say anything; he bent down gracefully and started helping her pick up the files.
Ingrid quickly squatted down too and reached out to pick them up as well. When Tom picked up the last sheet for her, her hand quickly touched his distinct knuckles.
Tom instinctively withdrew his hand and then handed her the file.
