Williams then took another slightly larger rectangular box from a tray held by another servant and respectfully handed it to Mr. Campell. Mr. Campell expressed his gratitude to him and the Fritz family.
Not only did the parents receive gifts, but the attentive Fritz family also prepared special gifts for Agnes’s sister and Spencer. Everyone knew these were valuable collectibles, not items available on the market. Spencer was aware of the Fritz family’s habit of attending auctions and collecting items.
“Rest assured,” Mrs. Fritz said, “Agnes being with our Tom means not only will Tom cherish her, but every member of our Fritz family will adore her. Please have no worries; I am growing more fond of this young lady.”
Williams, with a cheerful expression, added, “We don’t have a daughter in the Fritz family, so we will treat Agnes as our own. Please feel at ease entrusting her to Tom.”
Hearing this, Agnes felt valued and sweetly contented. Tom interlocked his fingers with hers, holding her hand tighter, their palms sharing warmth. Meeting her Mr. Kitten, falling in love with him, and marrying him was the luckiest thing in Agnes’s life. She cherished this bond deeply.
Tom, being the main focus today, stated, “Mr. Campell, Mrs. Campell, my parents and grandmother are here today to discuss the engagement. If we have your consent, we will start preparing.”
“Yes, yes, mainly to discuss the engagement,” Williams said. “Currently, their relationship is stable, and they are heading towards marriage.”
“That’s great!” Spencer, always lively, leaned back on the sofa with a smile. “I’ve even prepared a big red envelope; I’m just waiting for them to get married.”
Summer looked at Agnes and Tom with happiness; the more she saw them together, the more perfect they seemed. Although Tom was older than Agnes, it didn’t show on the surface. An older man is more stable and charming.
At this point, Mr. Campell spoke as a representative, “Tom, today is our second meeting. Last night I talked with him for a while and felt his sincerity and responsibility. So regarding their relationship, as long as they have thought it through themselves, we as parents won’t interfere.”
With that, everyone smiled broadly and reached an agreement on the engagement.
The Fritz family was particularly pleased and began discussing engagement preparations.
“Which relatives from your side need to be invited? You can follow your customs,” Mrs. Fritz said with a smile. “Please give us a list at that time; we will prepare the invitations and send them to you for distribution.”
Is an engagement supposed to be this grand? With invitations?
Mr. and Mrs. Campell exchanged a glance; after all, it was the Fritz family.
Mr. Campell nodded in response, “Alright then, let’s not notify distant relatives; just invite uncles and aunts living in Arkpool City. Does that work for you?”
“You can follow your customs; our Fritz family is here to serve your Campell family. Just provide us with a detailed list of guests so we can ensure proper arrangements.”
The atmosphere was pleasant during this first meeting of the elders.
Mr. and Mrs. Campell had prepared a big red envelope for Tom in advance; both sides agreed on the children’s relationship and their engagement.
They then discussed an auspicious date in the near future and reached a consensus, leaving everyone particularly happy.
