Reiner – Don’t Run Off

“Anything that you want is fine for me. Honestly, I’ve never thought about this before…” Reiner admitted a little shyly.
“Really?” I asked curiously.
“Yeah. I never thought that I would really get married…” Reiner confessed before he grinned wryly at me.
Really?
“Hmmm? Even with King nagging you like that?” I asked to tease him a little.
“Well, if I run off and never come back here then I probably don’t have to marry anyone,” Reiner replied in a light teasing tone.
I wondered if he could do something like that but then quickly realized that he probably could.
“Don’t run off anymore, ok?” I said as I grabbed his arm and hugged it while snuggling my head on his shoulder.
All those times I woke up with him gone in the past still haunted me and I never wanted to experience that again in this life. Next time, if something would come between us so that we had to part, I prayed that that would be inevitable death and nothing else.
Reiner didn’t reply to me, but he did turn to smile warmly my way before dipping his head down to place a sweet kiss on my forehead. I was too happy in that moment that I ended up forgetting everything about getting his preferences on the wedding.

“Having a classic wedding is nice! What do you have in mind? We could do it in a church, on the beach, in a garden, on a large rooftop up high…oh…there are just so many options,” Queen said excitedly.
She seemed more excited about this than I was, but her enthusiasm was quickly rubbing off on me.
“I want to go with something simple and not so…troublesome…” I replied with the best words I could find to represent my preference.
After going through all that complicated stuff, I couldn’t wait to have a simple ceremony where I would just have a lot of time to take photos with Reiner. I would be simply happy just to stand at his side as we both smiled, laughed, and hugged each other while we got some photos taken in our white and simple wedding dress and tuxedo.
“Something simple…and classic…” Queen said as she seemed deep in thought.
I had to admit that even though everything seemed up to me and I had the freedom to choose, I wasn’t sure what I wanted either. Maybe it was time that I did some research online to see what I fancied seriously this time around.
“I want something small and private… where we feel like a family…I guess…” I mumbled softly.
If only my mother was still here, she would definitely be with me on my important day to support me and wish me well for my married life and the future ahead. If only she was still here…
“Sounds good,” Queen agreed with a bright smile.
“Yeah…” I whispered before I tried my best to put on a proper smile.
“I suggest you use an organizer to help you. My friend runs a business that specialize in organizing weddings, if you want, I can link you up with her,” Queen suggested enthusiastically.
“That would be great. With the time constraint, I think I’ll really need their help,” I replied with a thankful smile.
In the end, despite the many options that Queen laid out on the table, I decided to go with a simple church wedding in a small church that I found out about through browsing the local forum board online. If I can get Reiner’s thoughts on this, then I can proceed to do other things on the long list of to-dos.
“What do you think of this place?” I asked as I showed Reiner the screen of my laptop.
“For our wedding?” he asked, getting the message immediately.
“Yea…” I replied softly.
I watched Reiner closely to judge his reaction. Honestly, there wasn’t much for me to judge because Reiner just nodded his head once.
“What do you think?” I pressed him to make a comment.
“Looks fine. It’s kind of small…” he finally voiced his thoughts.
“Is it too small?” I asked, now feeling slightly worried.
“Want to go see for yourself?” Reiner suggested as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder from behind.
“We can?” I asked as I started feeling more than a little excited.
“Sure. Let’s go see it together,” Reiner replied with a small laugh.
“When can we go?” I asked, unable to hold back my excitement any longer.
“We can go now if you want. It should be open and it’s definitely not a popular place so it shouldn’t be crowded…” Reiner said before he smiled at me.
Going to check out a potential wedding venue for our wedding together with Reiner seemed like the most romantic thing ever at that moment.
“Let’s go!” I said with so much passion when I stood up abruptly from the chair.
“There’s no need to rush…” Reiner said as he followed me out the door.
Reiner wasn’t as thrilled as I was to visit the small and tucked away church, but he did offer to drive us there. Just that fact made me feel all fuzzy and warm inside that I couldn’t stop giggling into my own hands as I blushed. Reiner gave me a weird look from where he was sitting next to me in the driver’s seat.
When we arrived, I was ultimately very surprised at how much the small church and its surrounding matched with the photos that I saw of it online. It was as if time was frozen there, and nothing had changed much about the place at all compared to when the photos were taken. The church looked small even from the outside, but it was surrounding by a well-kept garden with many tall trees that I thought added well to the serene atmosphere.
The way the wind blew and lifted my hair away from my face felt like the place was welcoming us with opened arms. Just as Reiner had predicted, the place wasn’t busy at all. Apart from the two of us, I didn’t see anyone else around.
