“True. I didn’t think that you would be this stubborn,” Reiner said.
“Why did you have to put it like that? Why don’t you see that it’s because I can’t just give up on you…despite all that…and how mean you were to me…” I said as I pouted at him.
I’m not going to let him off the hook so easily. I’ll keep reminding him about how much trouble he’d put me through.
“Rachael understands what it would mean if she married me. The life she’s led and the training that she’s received as an outstanding agent has prepared her to stand by my side,” Reiner continued to explain.
She seemed to perfect like she was born and made to be his future wife. It made me feel sick.
“I can be a good wife too…” I mumbled begrudgingly.

I bit my tongue before turning to look away from him in embarrassment. What am I thinking? I almost told him that I wanted to be his wife.
“It’s very late now. We should sleep,” Reiner said after a small pause.
