Elena
I have no idea why she’s behaving this way. She wouldn’t talk to me or pick up my calls.
Does she even know how fucking worried I am? No, she doesn’t, because that look she thrashed at me and when she said she doesn’t want to speak to me, and driving away without me. Proves it.
The annoying aspect is that I can’t even blame her. It’s all my fault. How could she go to a place like that? I don’t even trust that Roman she’s getting herself clung to.
I thought of a solution, and thank goodness Daniel came along with me. I fidget my fingers across my phone, getting anxious to meet her. Very anxious.
” Are you okay?” Daniel asks, he stares at me as I bite down my lips in ultimate havoc as if it was going to cut off.
” No, I’m not.” I tap my phone on my palm, looking out the window as I lean on the headrest.
” Ava?” he asks.
” Yes. I’m worried sick about her.” I tell him, a frown settling on my face. You don’t know how crazy I’m about to go now.
“Calm. We are almost there,” he says and increases the speed of the car.
We’re approaching her mansion, and just right from the roadside, we begin to hear the sound of a loudspeaker and the booming music.
Reaching her house and parking outside, I found out that the music is coming from Ava’s house. My cheek suddenly flushes in embarrassment and goosebumps rise on my skin.
I don’t yet accept what I’m thinking…
I run out of the car as I head for the entrance and push the door open. My mouth drops open when I see a party going on in her house. I search around for her but the people here are total strangers.
I don’t even recognize a single soul here. Where did she bring these people from? They look like regular club attendants.
She’s no where in the living room. Everyone here is dancing and chanting, some doing whatever thing I consider inappropriate.
I go climbing the stairs because if she isn’t in the living room she is upstairs.
I begin to climb up when I hear some laughter ripping through the air. I turn around and I see the guys, crossing their fucking legs on the couch with each glass of vodka in their hands.
That isn’t what made my brow crooked, it was what I heard through the laughter. ” Roman gonna fuck her and dump her fucking ass. He doesn’t want her, she’s just desperate for him and he is ready to use that opportunity, she is rich after all.” It’s what falls out from his lips.
Anger shoots up my veins, the back of my throat goes sore from what I am about to lash out to them. ” What did you just say?” I run down the staircase, my blood boiling.
” Who is this girl?” One says and laughs. I shriek, thinking of landing a slap on his cheek.
” Who are you?” another one asks and laughs as he rises from the couch.
” I just asked a question, what the fuck did you just say about my best friend?” I yell, ignoring their nasty attitude.
” Oh, she’s your best friend? The whore?” he laughs. My hands are itching as I plaster them on his face for calling her a whore.
He is about to attack me when Daniel comes from nowhere. Yanking him up by his jacket. ” If you dare lay a finger on her, I will fucking cut your throat,” he warns and throws him roughly to the floor.
Tears sting my eyes after listening all that from the guys. I run up the staircase to find Ava.
Wiping the tears from my cheek, I don’t want to say that I am disappointed in her, she might have done this to forget the pains she’s going through.
Sometimes we do silly things to forget pains, but not with this fucking guy. He is not fucking good for her.
The hallway is silent as I head for her room. I don’t bother knocking, I push the door open and I see… I see something choking.
Drowning in tears and mucus, I grant myself a moment to still my anger before I meet her eyes. Her mouth hangs open, pasted on her face.
She’s smoking. Fuck, Ava is smoking and the guy is wrapping up the shit for her!
Silence submerges between us. I thought I wasn’t disappointed in her, but now I am. Battling tears with all my might.
” What are you doing here?” she snaps. I leave the handle of the door, going inside her room and towards the bed, where she is sitting on.
I tug the cigarette from her hand and give her a tight slap on her face. I have never. Never touched Ava before. I’m sure she heard the sound of the slap before she felt it.
The guy doesn’t say anything but gives us space as he finds himself to the door. I don’t have time for him yet so I don’t stop him.
” What was that for?!” she yells, rubbing her hands on her cheek. I can tell it hurts because she’s trying to fight the tears from pouring down her cheek.
” What are you doing to yourself? Are you crazy? Is this the fucking this you should be doing because you feel lonely?!” my words are harsh, but I think it’s what she needs at this moment.
” You could have done something else rather than do this stupid thing.” Guilt clogs my throat, knowing I was just a Coward like she was. We couldn’t place a call across to reach out to Ferry. We couldn’t take the bull by the horn.
” What do you mean? There was nothing else to do than to forget the pain!” she yells, her cheek is red now and I see my fingerprints on her cheek, making my chest tighten with guilt.
” Ava this isn’t the way. Roman doesn’t love you, he wants to use you and dumb your fucking ass!” I yell, grabbing her hands from her cheek because the more she rubs it, the more I hurt for hitting her.
” What? Why would you say that?! He’s the only one that loves me.” She argues, clenching her teeth.
” Fuck that Ava, I overhead his friends gossiping about you. He wants to use and dump you!” her cheek flushed in embarrassment, it was as if I had given her more than the slap. That’s when tears begin to form in my best friend’s eyes.
” How could he plan to?” Ava crooks, I don’t say a word wiping my cheeks.
” Because he saw that you were lonely and he wanted to take advantage of this. Believe me, that’s not love, Ava.” I move closer to touch her.
” And I’m sorry, I didn’t know you were hurting this much. You can take all the annoyance on me, I love you, Ava.” I bring my hands to touch her hair, Ava chewing her lower lips shedding a tear.
That’s when she falls into my arms, shedding all the tears she has been fighting back. ” I’m sorry I turned out a disappointment to you. I’m sorry I pushed you away..” She realises.
I cry twice as hard at her admission of regret.
I squeeze her tightly in my arms as she hugs me the same way. We no longer hear the music anymore, I’m sure Daniel must have handled all that by chasing them all out of the house.
When she has stopped crying, I push a strand of her hair behind her ears, ” I have a surprise for you.” I smile at her.
Her teary eyes widen a bit, and she opens her mouth to speak but it closes when she is speechless. ” You have a surprise for me after all I’ve done?” her lips parted, smiling nervously.
” You did nothing wrong. Let’s say it was justified but don’t do it again.” I warn with a smile and a small laugh trickles from her lips.
” Promise.” she drops her eyes.
” Come on, let’s go downstairs.” I pull her arms into mine as we head for the door. She is already calm as we go down the staircase. The entire house is empty as everyone vacates.
Daniel is standing in front of the door, though it is closed. ” Ready?” he asks with a grin on his lips, immediately we appear in the living room.
” Yes.” I nod, taking my eyes back at Ava. She seems anxious about the surprise we got her.
Daniel opens the door and she gently walks inside with her head lowered down. ” Oh my goodness!” I let go of Ava, her hands flying to her mouth.
” Elena… You. Jesus… Mom..” she is speechless, causing me to chuckle. She has another tear running down her cheek as Ferry comes to engulf her into her open arms.
” Mom..” she sobs along.
” Ava, I’m so sorry. I’ve been a very bad mom. I’m sorry..” she cries along with her daughter. I become emotional as I watch them, but Daniel gives my hand a little squeeze.
They hug for a long while, causing Daniel to steal a kiss and take a picture of it instantly.
” What was that for?” I ask about the picture, he deliberately stole a kiss to take a shot.
” To have it.” he smiles without his teeth showing. I go to ask questions about why, but then I’m distracted by Ava and her mom.
They finally pull out of the hug and confess how much they missed each other. I amber further to meet them. ” So how Is it going, Ava?” I smile winking at her.
” Jesus, you are the best how did you do this?” she asks, tears still in her eyes wetting her eyelashes.
When we were on her way here, I knew coming alone without a solution isn’t going to help the matter at all. Daniel encourages me to give Ferry a call and tell her all about it.
We humans always assumed until we hear the fact from the horse’s mouth.
Ferry thought Ava hated her already and she was scared of coming to see her or even giving her a call. She was too ashamed to do so.
Meanwhile, Ava thought her mom truly abandoned her and didn’t want her anymore. Everything was all a misunderstanding.
” Elen gave me a call and explain everything.” Ferry beats me to it, explaining in detail.
” Ava, I thought you never want to see me again. I thought you despises me as your mom. And you have all the right to hate me or feel that way. ” her voice cracks and the honesty in her ripples through the atmosphere.
” No mom. I was going to forgive you. I was longing to see you or hear your voice. I know you did wrong, but you are still my mom.” Breaking into a thousand pieces she whispers.
” I thought I wasn’t important anymore.” she gags.
” No baby. You are important. You are important to mom and dad. And I’m so sorry for all I’ve done.” She drags a deep sigh.
” Come here.” she stretches her arms in her direction and embraces her. Squeezing her a little tighter and she groans.. bursting into laughter again.
” I miss you so much.” She admits.
” Let’s promise we will never drift apart again, okay?” Ava offers her a pinky.
Joy flows out of me profusely, as I bite my lips watching then lacing their pinky together.
” I promise.”
Okay.. settle, now I have to focus on my studies a hundred percent…
Daniel stands by the door side, grinning as he types away on his phone. He hasn’t stopped grinning since he took a shot of the two of us kissing. No, the kiss he stole.
What is he up to?
I frown, he notices I stare at him for a while then he pockets his phone and says, ” Come on Elen. I will drop you home.”
It’s quite late, so I didn’t protest.
