Daniel
I sit beside her, not letting anyone get close to her until the cops get here.
Ryan didn’t want the cops to be involved nor do we want that. But this is how they work. They think Elena misled them and they want to give her some punishment for it. We won’t allow them to do anything too, but they want to take her away to investigate. If they truly think she is guilty, I doubt they would let her go.
She exhales as she takes the water by herself from the table. She doesn’t want any help from anyone. Even though she is exhausted, she prefers to gather some strength and do it herself.
Elena gulps some water as she exhales a few times, calming herself. Looks like she is better now than she was a few minutes ago. She almost seems like she wanted to pass out.
Something stirred up in my chest when I saw how angry Ryan was at her. He could have done something to hurt her. Maybe this time physically not emotionally but that wouldn’t have been possible.
We do not have the right to hurt her physically, we only needed to make her feel pain emotionally.
“Why are you keeping me here?” Her voice comes up, clearer after she’s calm.
My brothers lift their heads to stare into her blue angry eyes. She didn’t flinch when she meets their eyes one after the other.
She boldly utters another word, “I said why are you keeping me here? And did you set me up with Riley again? Do you think her sleeping with that old man was your plan as well?” She’s up and aggressive again. She’s breathing hell as she speaks.
Ryan pulled away from the wall he is leaning on, and walks forward but not close to where she is sitting. She’s sitting with me on the same couch.
“Do you still think we don’t know you are the mastermind behind all this?” he scoffs, still has his hands across his chest.
“I didn’t do it. I bet you will so regret it when I prove it to you.” She hisses. She has once said that to me. I thought it was just some mere words but now she isn’t joking. She’s serious.
I don’t know who to believe. I don’t know if Riley truly set her up. I know she hates Elena, but did she really do that to set Elena up? I question as I arch my brow. I’m lost in my thinking, not concentrating on what is going on.
“Regret? Do you say regret? I bet you will be the one lamenting in the next few seconds. Nobody will be able to save you, not even us!” he sneers again. He is angry. And he doesn’t want to rest until he sees Elena hurt.
“I didn’t do anything!” she abruptly gets up yelling harshly towards Ryan.
I want to interrupt them and shut them up but we hear a knock. A defeaning silence falls into the living room.
“The cops are here.” Ryan grins, dropping his hands from his chest.
Elena suddenly tenses. “W-what is going on?” I’m still beside her. I see sweat dotting her forehead.
Ryan didn’t say a word again as he speed-walk to the door. He let them in and their eyes immediately falls on Elena as they entered. We planned to bring Elena to our house. Since she is the mastermind in this, she would have escaped if she knew the cops are coming for her. We didn’t want that so we made her come on her own.
Ryan planned to make Elena come here on her own by using Riley. “Miss Deloris, good thing you are here.” The head of the cops greets her. He smiles weirdly as he keeps his hands in both of his side pockets.
“What is going on? And how is that a good thing? Don’t tell me, you trust what these guys said to you?” She asks in panic and her eyes scan at them one after the other with anxiety.
“With the proof they offered, it shows you are guilty and you’ve made us accused the wrong person.” He says with all authority that could scare her. “And according to the law, whoever lures the cops to a wrong offender gets punished.” The other cops states.
“I didn’t give any wrong accusation. I don’t know if he actually rapes someone or not. All I know is that I am not the one who accused him. I know nothing about the rape video.” I see confusion and pain all over her eyes, and as I watch her speak, I feel hurt.
What hurt me more is the amusing smile I see on Ryan’s lips.
“Could you shut up already Miss Deloris?” Mr. David yells at her. Her body vibrates in shock as she isn’t expecting it.
“Mr. David, I don’t think it is right for you to tell me to shut up. The innocent and the victim are always allowed to speak up.” she speaks with anger now and smartly. Her face changes from fear to anger.
“Do not speak to us that way, young lady. It would be a double offence if you disrespect us. We have the video of you, begging them to have sex with you. As the case is, he refused to lay with and you decided to punish him.” He demands.
Elena’s brow furrows deeply in outrage. I feel her two hands clenching into fists.
“That video is a setup. I wasn’t in my right mind when I said those. It is one of their plans. Please, don’t believe them!”
“Sorry, we can’t believe that. There has to be a proof that it was a setup, otherwise we have to arrest you.” He charges.
Elena truly has no proof to prove it was one of our plans. “I don’t have any fucking proof, but trust me that video was one of their plans!”
“Please shut up already. Officer, can you take her away?” Mr. David gives his orders.
“No, please I’m not guilty!” She shouts, staring at us to stop the cops.
I don’t want to be in chaos with my brothers, and I don’t know what to do. I also can’t stop her. I have to know if she is guilty or not. There have to be something I can do to find out the real truth.
The pain in my heart increase as they take her out in their car.
I’m restless, I have to do something I can’t let them take her. I need to do something. It is possible she could be saying the truth. She’s been saying it but we have not tried to believe her. Elena could be innocent. I need to do something.
I grab my car keys from the table. My brothers are standing in the same position. Ryan is the only one that looks a bit pleased, while the rest of my brothers doesn’t look happy as well.
“I don’t think it is right that we let the cops take her.” Darius says disappointed as he stares at Ryan.
“We shouldn’t have allowed them.” Tyson adds from the hallway.
“She was so stubborn. If she had admitted the truth to us, we wouldn’t have let them take her.” Ryan says nonchalantly. He also feels the pains that are emitting from the bond, but he rather bears it than make it affect him.
“She doesn’t have to be taken by them.” I almost yell, because my chest is filled with rage. I don’t know why but I just feel miserable for allowing what just happened. I have my keys, and I storm out of the house.
“Where are you going, Daniel?” Ryan asks, dropping his hands again when his brows arch.
“After them.” I say hoarsely, and without waiting for another response I hop into my ride.
