“Indeed, a mid-stage Spirit Saint!” Leo’s face darkened instantly.
Dorian extended his withered right hand, reaching out towards Leo. A tremendous amount of spiritual power surged from Dorian’s palm, transforming mid-air into a massive, bloody hand with crimson flames flickering on its surface.
As the bloody hand descended, Leo felt an unavoidable sense of impending doom. From a distant island, Holden, Violet, and others watched in alarm as Leo stood motionless against the descending hand.
A Spirit Saint was indeed far more powerful than a Spirit King.
Since there was no way to dodge, Leo decided to face it head-on. He summoned the Nine-Petal Ice-Soul Lotus, and an intense, formidable cold force erupted from him. Clenching his right fist, ice crystals formed around it, encasing his hand.
Facing the descending bloody hand, Leo’s eyes flashed with cold light as he punched forward. A massive ice fist shot out from his right hand, colliding with the bloody hand. Upon impact, frost spread across the bloody hand’s surface, and cracking sounds echoed as both the bloody hand and the ice fist developed fissures.
After a few seconds of stalemate, a loud explosion ensued, and both the bloody hand and the ice fist shattered. The powerful shockwave forced Leo back three steps in mid-air, while Dorian remained unmoved.
Seeing Leo withstand his attack, Dorian’s old face showed a hint of astonishment. The gap between a Spirit Saint and a Spirit King was like a chasm. Typically, a lower-tier Spirit Saint could easily crush an upper-tier Spirit King, let alone Dorian, who was at mid-stage Spirit Saint.
“You do have some tricks up your sleeve. I now somewhat believe that you killed Saul and the others,” Dorian said with an evil grin. “But unfortunately, your cultivation level is still a major realm below mine. Let me tear you apart and then devour your soul.”
As Dorian spoke, he slowly extended his withered hands, and a blood-red aura surged from his body, gathering in front of him like a crimson cloud. His hands formed seals, and the crimson cloud transformed into a massive blood-red cauldron, towering over a hundred meters high and exuding a domineering pressure.
It was a high-level technique of materializing spiritual power!
Leo looked up at the blood-red cauldron with a serious expression. “Let me refine your soul,” Dorian sneered, changing his hand seals. The cauldron’s lid flew open in the sky.
“Enter the cauldron!” Dorian pointed at Leo from afar. The cauldron moved, rotating its body and aiming its mouth at Leo. A terrifying suction force emerged, like countless hands pulling at Leo.
The suction force even formed a massive blood-red vortex. “Old man, do you think it’s a coincidence that you met me in this world? I will make sure you and your disciple stay here forever!” Leo’s spiritual power surged as he broke free from the suction force and shot towards the sea below.
“Boy, don’t boast. With your Spirit King cultivation, no matter what tricks you have, you can’t be my opponent,” Dorian said disdainfully, sensing that Leo was up to something but still full of contempt.
In Dorian’s view, teaching a Spirit King was as easy as disciplining a child. However, he hadn’t considered that if the child had a deadly weapon, could the adult still teach them?
Moments later, Leo reached the space rift’s center above the Holy Lightning Quintarray. Forming seals with his hands, he cast a symbol downward and shouted coldly, “Activate!”
With a buzzing sound, a massive formation pattern lit up on the seabed within three kilometers of the space rift. A huge inverted light shield appeared between the sea and sky, enveloping the space rift, Leo, and Dorian.
“A formation!?” Dorian’s pupils contracted in surprise.
“Holy Lightning Quintarray’s first calamity: Gold Calamity, manifest!” Leo changed his hand seals and shouted. The seabed formation pattern shifted, emitting a dazzling golden light that quickly transformed into a massive golden lightning bolt.
The golden lightning bolt descended upon the blood-red cauldron with immense power. With a thunderous explosion, the cauldron shattered in mid-air. Dorian’s eyes narrowed in shock as the golden lightning bolt continued towards him despite losing some power.
Dorian’s shock turned to rage as he slapped at the incoming lightning bolt with his withered right hand. A massive blood-red palm appeared and struck the golden lightning bolt, shattering it but also dissipating in the process.
Looking at the formation pattern beneath him and sensing the surging energy within the inverted light shield, Dorian felt somewhat shaken. Although he had little knowledge of formations, he recognized that he was within a fourth-level formation.
On the Awakened Continent, formation masters were extremely rare because studying formations was incredibly difficult. Many Cultivators spent their entire lives only becoming fourth-level formation masters capable of setting up fourth-level formations.
Dorian knew that a fully activated fourth-level attack formation could severely injure or even kill a Spirit Saint. That a Spirit King could set up such a formation explained why Saul and his companions never returned.
Despite his surprise, as a mid-stage Spirit Saint, Dorian would not fear Leo. “Boy, do you think you can survive by relying on formations?” Dorian sneered at Leo.
Leo retorted coldly, “You should be concerned about your own life now.”
“Let’s see what you’re capable of!” Dorian laughed coldly as he stepped into the void. His aura peaked as boundless spiritual power surged from him. Blood-red flames erupted around his body.
Leo flipped his right hand and took out five Spirit Stones, throwing them into the formation’s center. Seeing the Spirit Stones, Dorian paused in surprise once more.
He hadn’t expected to find Spirit Stones in this world with thin spiritual energy-and High-Quality Spirit Stones at that!
