This damn sneaky bastard!
Eliezer wished he could find a hole to hide in. Although the pressure on his body was relieved after the press, he had become the laughingstock of everyone.
He glared at Darnell with a murderous look, gritting his teeth and growling, “Just wait, kid. I will make you pay for what happened today.”
“Next week, if you fail to meet performance targets, I will kick you out of the department,” he threatened.
Darnell looked aggrieved, “Mr. Izzard, I helped you get rid of the waste gas, and instead of being grateful, you want to kick me out. I’m so upset.”
“Just wait and see!” Eliezer threatened before leaving angrily with his entourage.
Casey and the others happily waved their fists at Eliezer’s retreating back. For someone who came to cause trouble every day, they felt he needed to be taught a lesson.
After the commotion died down, Casey and the others faced reality again and looked at Darnell, puzzled. “How could this happen?”
Clearly, they couldn’t understand Areli’s actions. Even if they didn’t get a share of the hundred million from the contract with the Harmony Hospital, if they had been given a few million, they wouldn’t have been treated this way today.
Shayla looked thoughtful, glancing at Darnell, wondering if their playful banter had upset Areli enough to set a trap for them.
“Miss Fanshaw has her own considerations. There’s no need to complain about her.” Darnell remained optimistic. “Besides, there are still five days left. Can’t the Python Team handle four million in sales?”
“Let’s not think about that hundred million. If we secure ten million ourselves and slap Eliezer in the face next week, wouldn’t that be more satisfying?”
Darnell’s smile was bright. “Come on, ladies. Cheer up. Reach out to your clients and achieve the ten million sales target as soon as possible.”
Hearing Darnell’s words, Casey, Bailee, and Shayla quickly pulled themselves together, and they all waved their fists in unison. “Let’s go for it.”
With a team leader like Darnell, what task could they not accomplish? Even if they really couldn’t complete it, having him by their side was enough.
“Mr. Halford, actually, I have a client on hand,” Shayla said.
As the four of them sat down to continue their work, Shayla suddenly remembered something and slapped her forehead before speaking softly, “One Cent Foundation.”
“They are planning to provide medical assistance to hospitals in the mountainous areas with a purchase budget of six million. They are currently negotiating with major pharmaceutical companies,” she explained.
“I have a friend who works at the foundation. She also gave me some information,” Shayla continued.
“However, they are offering a very low price. With our commission rate at this level, not only is there no possibility of making money, but we might also have to invest five hundred thousand,” she said.
Casey and Bailee exclaimed in surprise, “We have to pay too?”
Shayla nodded gently and leaned forward with a hint of cunning in her eyes. “Yes, we get a commission cut and have to pay five hundred thousand.”
“In and out, it’s almost a million,” she added.
“So not many people are willing to negotiate unless it’s a small company looking for advertising or a big company with deep pockets,” she explained.
“But for us, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks,” she concluded.
Darnell squinted his eyes with interest and asked Shayla to explain further.
“We might have to invest five hundred thousand for this deal,” Shayla said.
Shayla revealed her shrewdness as she continued, “But as long as we achieve ten million in sales performance, Mr. Halford will earn five million from the order from Africa, along with the commission from Eliezer’s bet, will be enough to make up for the one-million loss.”
“So we would still make four million?” she suggested.
“In desperate situations like this, we can buy five million worth of products ourselves to boost our sales performance. We won’t lose anything by using our commission,” she proposed.
“But we can’t sell all those products after buying them,” she added.
Upon hearing Shayla’s calculation, Casey and Bailee slapped their foreheads simultaneously and exclaimed, “You’re right! Spend little money to earn big money!”
Darnell also laughed and said confidently, “That’s calculated well. Contact One Cent Foundation and see if we can seal the deal in these two days.”
“If we need money upfront, I’ll cover it,” he offered.
Bailee and Casey looked surprised and said together, “Mr. Halford, are you rich? You’re offering five million like it’s nothing.”
Darnell chuckled and said proudly, “It seems it’s time to tell you the truth. I am a war hero who can rival a country’s wealth. Five million is not a drop in the bucket to what I really got.”
The three women rolled their eyes simultaneously and muttered disdainfully, “Boaster.”
Shayla grabbed her phone and ran off, saying confidently, “With Mr. Halford’s words backing me up, I feel more confident now. I’ll contact the foundation right away.”
Not long after Shayla left with determination on her face, she returned with disappointment written all over her face. Casey hurriedly asked her about the situation.
“My friend told me that until a few days ago, nobody was interested in cooperating with them. Even the pharmaceutical companies they approached declined politely,” Shayla explained sadly.
“But since yesterday when Whiteville’s top journalist joined the foundation and got involved in this event, many companies extended an olive branch,” she continued.
“Pioneer Properties even agreed to sell half-price goods. They will only charge three million for goods worth six million. I’m sorry, Mr. Halford,” Shayla apologized as she looked at Darnell.
“Pioneer Properties is going all out like this. We might need to give away our goods for free just to get the foundation’s attention,” she sighed.
“But if we give them away for free, we’ll suffer a great loss,” she added.
Casey and Bailee felt discouraged as they exclaimed together, “Ah! In this day, even losing money is so competitive.”
“There’s nothing we can do. Whiteville’s top journalist has quite an influence,” Shayla explained.
She knew this very well. Cooperating with One Cent Foundation was thankless work with little benefit.
“Pioneer Properties is willing to go all out by offering three million because Whiteville’s top journalist attracts attention,” she continued.
“As long as there is an article about it from the top journalist in Whiteville, it will be more effective than spending three million on advertising,” she reasoned.
“And they can also reduce tax payments. That’s why Pioneer Properties is willing to go all out,” she concluded sadly.
She sighed softly before saying apologetically, “But the foundation hasn’t made its decision yet. They will decide on their partner in three days.”
“Whiteville’s top journalist…” Darnell felt something familiar about that title before suddenly realizing something. “Abbigail?”
Bailee and Casey were shocked as they asked excitedly, “Mr. Halford! Do you know Abbigail?”
“Mr. Halford, if you know her, maybe you can contact her! There might be an opportunity!” Bailee suggested eagerly.
“No… There will definitely be an opportunity! As long as she agrees to say a few words about it, this deal will be ours!” Casey exclaimed confidently.
Bailee and Shayla also became excited as they said together, “In that case, we have hope!”
Darnell looked proud as he said with a smirk on his face, “Of course I know her. I’ve seen her chest.” He had caught glimpses of the few remaining photos on the computer.
The three women immediately scolded him while poking his head simultaneously. “Daydreamer!”
Darnell rubbed his head with his hand and looked somewhat troubled. “Doing this business isn’t difficult. I just never do unprofitable deals.”
Darnell sighed, “I wonder if I could win this deal by offering myself up for sexual favors.”
The three women poked him again while saying disdainfully, “Pervert!”
“Darnell! You’re in big trouble now!” Just then, Lillian rushed into the room like a gust of wind and shouted at Darnell, “Miss Fanshaw wants you in the conference room immediately.”
Darnell and his team looked up simultaneously.
